If Yezhi had the chance to choose again, she definitely would not foolishly rush forward to hug the wild boar, nor would she arrogantly try to match strength with it. She thought that by doing so, she could buy time for One Egg to escape and seek help. In reality, the wild boar was covered in some slippery substance, and as soon as Yezhi touched it, she was knocked to the ground. 0

“Sister Ye!” One Egg exclaimed in shock. 0

Lying on the ground, Yezhi felt as if her soft armor absorbed all the impact, leaving her without any pain. She placed a hand on her chest and adjusted her breathing. Just as she sat up, a shadow rushed past her; the wild boar charged straight towards Yezhi. Seeing that it had successfully shifted its target and One Egg was safe, she felt relieved and let the wild boar nudge her again. 0

“Master, is it fun?” Xiao Fang clapped and cheered. 0

Yezhi didn’t have time to respond to Xiao Fang. She shouted towards One Egg: “One Egg, don’t come over! Go call your dad to save me; I don’t want to die out here in this wilderness!” 0

Despite being young, One Egg managed to keep calm. Realizing that Yezhi was in danger while trying to save her, she picked up a large stone and ran towards Yezhi. However, upon hearing Yezhi's words, she immediately dropped the stone and dashed off to find her father. 0

Now that Yezhi wasn’t pushed far away, the wild boar’s long and thick snout quickly approached her. She covered her face as a foul odor mixed with the scent of pine wood hit her. 0

“Master, use the Beast Binding Rope to tie up the wild boar!” Xiao Fang shouted excitedly. Yezhi rolled over and tumbled into the bushes. The wild boar seemed enraged by Yezhi's sudden movement; its bristles stood up angrily as it took a few steps back, let out a roar, and charged at Yezhi. 0

“Oh no!” Yezhi thought. This wild boar was determined to attack her. She fumbled with her hands and feet to untie the leather strap from her wrist. 0

“Master, throw the rope quickly!” Xiao Fang yelled anxiously. 0

With her eyes closed, Yezhi threw the rope forward. A sharp howl accompanied the struggling black mass of the wild boar as it landed on top of Yezhi, crushing her small frame. 0

It didn’t hurt much; rather, it made it hard for Yezhi to breathe, nearly suffocating her. 0

“Master, are you okay?” Seeing Yezhi’s face turn pale from lack of oxygen, Xiao Fang shouted with concern. 0

Using all her strength, Yezhi managed to push the struggling wild boar off of her. 0

“Master, there’s so much blood! Xiao Fang is fainting at the sight of blood!” Covering her eyes with her hands, Xiao Fang collapsed onto the ground. 0

“Xiao Fang, stop pretending, that blood is from the wild boar, you robot!” Yezhi shouted in frustration, her body covered in sticky blood, the nauseating smell of blood filling her nostrils. The wild boar let out a series of painful cries, each one more miserable than the last, yet its will to fight was astonishing; it continued to struggle against the leather strap, rolling around as it fought. The one-meter-long leather strap that Yezhi had thrown only bound the wild boar's two front hooves. The more it struggled, the tighter the strap became, cutting into the wild boar's flesh. For some reason, or perhaps it could be said that Yezhi was being hypocritical, watching the wild boar lose its life and seeing everything before her drenched in blood made her feel a twinge of sorrow. 0

With a loud bang, a gunshot rang out, and the wild boar fell to the ground, twitching in a pool of blood, its eyes closing in defeat. 0

“Yezhi! Are you hurt?” One Gun Brother and One Egg rushed over to her. One Egg cried as he spoke, “Sister Ye, you can't be hurt! You saved my life; I haven't repaid you yet! Sister Ye!” 0

“Master, what happened? You shouldn't be like this; you have soft armor!” Xiao Fang covered its eyes, not understanding the situation. It lowered its hands in worry and looked at Yezhi, who was overwhelmed by the sight of blood and sat down weakly on the ground, covering its eyes tightly while crying out, “Master, what happened? Xiao Fang can't feel anything!” Not feeling anything meant everything was fine—how foolish! It turned out there really were robots that fainted at the sight of blood; Yezhi was truly enlightened. She poked One Egg: “What a loser! Why are you crying like a baby?” Then she met One Gun Brother's concerned gaze and said, “One Gun Brother, I'm fine; the blood isn't mine.” 0

Seeing that Yezhi was indeed okay, Zhou Yiqiang walked over to the dead wild boar, astonished at how it was bleeding profusely with its front hooves nearly cut off. How could this happen? Wild boars are tough-skinned and meaty; an adult wild boar loves to roll around between trees and rocks as if wearing armor—knives can't easily pierce them. They walk through forests with hardly any natural enemies; they are as fierce as they come. How did this young girl manage to escape unscathed? Without his shot, the wild boar would have eventually died from blood loss. 0

Filled with confusion and disbelief, Zhou Yiqiang looked at Yezhi. She understood his thoughts but didn't know how to explain. 0

“Xiao Fang, what do you think I should say?” 0

“Master should just tell the truth!” Asking Xiao Fang was pointless; Yezhi said irritably to it: “Cover your eyes well; there's pig blood everywhere; you'll faint!” 0

“Master, you're okay! Xiao Fang will cover well; I won't faint!” After saying that, it adorably waved its hands. 0

“One Gun Brother, everything happened so fast; I don't even know how it ended up like this. I thought I was done for when that wild boar got tangled up in something. It was bleeding and rolling on the ground while I was still in shock. If you and One Egg hadn't come, I would have just stood there dumbfounded.” 0

Zhou Yiqiang thought about it—if they hadn't come, Yezhi would still be standing there in a daze! He rubbed his hands together and smiled broadly: “Yezhi, this wild boar must weigh over 200 pounds; let's split it in half.” 0

“Great! I'm going to have meat!” One Egg shouted out what every sister was thinking. “Woof! Woof! Woof!” However, it seemed like Heizi was the most practical one; it had already started licking up the pig's blood. 0

A man used to farm work has great strength; carrying a 200-pound wild boar on his back didn't leave One Gun Brother breathless as he walked along the mountain path. Even a child used to farm work shouldn't be underestimated; One Egg carried a shotgun in one hand while holding an undercooked rabbit in the other and a basket of mushrooms too. Yezhi had nothing to carry and followed behind them empty-handed. As for Xiao Fang, it had already fainted from seeing blood and returned uselessly to Glasses. 0

When they reached the village entrance, several figures rushed over. Upon seeing the wild boar on Zhou Yiqiang's back, they were all delighted. But when they saw Yezhi, covered in bloodstains, they were all shocked and surrounded her with concern. Some even hurried off to notify Aunt Zhou. 0

Before reaching the doorstep, Aunt Zhou rushed over to Yezhi with red eyes, panicking and checking her all over. 0

"Aunt, I'm fine, it's just pig's blood," Yezhi said, bouncing a couple of times to prove her point. 0

Aunt Zhou gave Yezhi a hard knock on the head. "You mischievous, troublesome girl." 0

Yezhi pretended to cry out in pain, looking at Aunt Zhou with a wronged expression. 0

"Yezhi, can we take the pig back to my house?" One Gun Brother eagerly asked. 0

"One Gun Brother, how much can this wild boar be sold for?" 0

Zhou Village Head chimed in from the side, "A wild boar weighing around 300 pounds could probably fetch ten or so Unity coins." 0

Yezhi pulled Zhou Yiqiang aside. "One Gun Brother, I want to buy your share for 50 coins. What do you think?" 0

Zhou Yiqiang was a bit taken aback and paused before asking, "Why?" 0

"One Gun Brother, I want to buy the wild boar to share with the villagers. There are about 100 households in Zhoujiatun, and two pounds per family should be enough." The villagers of Zhoujiatun were very simple and always treated others with kindness. Yezhi felt the deep affection each villager had for her. She wanted to repay their kindness; living in this unfamiliar era, there were so many people she wanted to thank. For now, she could only do what was within her means to let everyone enjoy a meal of meat and be happy. 0

One Gun Brother was stunned by Yezhi's generosity; he dropped the wild boar on the ground. "You really want to share!" 0

Zhou Village Head and Cart Master thought there might be some disagreement between them and hurried over to mediate. "What's going on? Can't you talk it out? One Gun, how can you argue with a young girl? Yezhi, if there's anything, just tell Village Uncle; I'm on your side." 0

"Cart Master is on your side too." After saying that, they really stood beside Yezhi, glaring fiercely at Zhou Yiqiang. 0

Yezhi smiled from the bottom of her heart. "Village Uncle, Cart Master, I want to share the wild boar with everyone." Zhou Village Head quickly waved his hand. "Share what? Do you think this is still like the old days when everything was communal and evenly distributed? Did someone say something?" 0

"No, no, sigh! Village Uncle, I just want to borrow this wild boar to make everyone happy, and also to thank everyone for their care. It's not as enjoyable for one person to eat meat as it is for everyone to share," Yezhi explained anxiously while stamping her foot. 0

"Really ridiculous!" Zhou Village Head shouted, drawing the attention of a large crowd around. 0

"Village Uncle, it's really true, more genuine than pearls," Yezhi assured repeatedly. 0

Zhou Village Head's face immediately broke into a wide smile, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Cart Driver, take the wild boar to Team Dam and call Pig No. Three to handle it. And you lot," he yelled at the crowd, "go back and get your knives ready to divide the meat; don’t just stand around." 0

As expected of the village head, his shout was powerful enough to disperse the crowd. Aunt Zhou walked over and linked arms with Yezhi as they slowly strolled toward the dam. Meanwhile, Zhou Village Head went to Team to announce the news to the villagers using a loudspeaker. 0

Village Uncle was quick on his feet; before Yezhi and the others even reached the dam, the announcement about dividing the meat had already been broadcasted through the loudspeaker and reached every Zhou Family Village Resident's ears. By the time they arrived at Team Dam, many people had gathered—men and women, young and old. 0

"Sister Ye! Why do we have to share our pig?" Zhou Yidan angrily rushed over to Yezhi and shouted. "Because it's more enjoyable for everyone to eat together than for just one person," she replied with a somewhat grandiose reason, but there was no need to explain her complicated feelings to a child. One Egg hung her head in silence. 0

"One Egg!" 0

"Sister Ye, if we all eat together, I’ll be very happy too. Really! I want Er Zhu, Zhou Xiaomu, and Dogzi... to eat as well, but I still feel a bit reluctant. This could have lasted me a long time... Sister Ye, is it bad that I think this way?" One Egg said softly with tears in her eyes. 0

Yezhi didn't know what to say; One Egg was speaking the truth. "One Egg, you're not a bad child!" Yezhi was struggling to find a way to comfort One Egg when One Egg wiped her tears and said, "Sister Ye, if you say I'm not bad then I'm not; I won't think that way again, I promise I'll be a good child from now on." With that, she dashed off to play with Young Man. 0

In truth, it wasn't surprising that One Egg was so attached to meat. In a remote and impoverished village like Zhoujiatun, even dogs ate vegetarian food; having any meat was something special reserved for festivals when pigs were slaughtered. Even if one had money on ordinary days, it was hard to buy meat; one would need meat coupons even if they traveled over 100 miles to the city. 0

With several more years of material shortages ahead of them, she needed to think carefully about how to live in the future! 0
