"Guangcai, where is that little fox?" Zhang Xiaoxiao suddenly remembered something and asked.
"It's right here," Zhao Guangcai said, pointing behind him.
Zhang Xiaoxiao looked in the direction he was pointing and saw a snow-white fox with a few bloodstains on its body, crouching in the grass and staring at her with round eyes.
"Wow, it's so cute!" Zhang Xiaoxiao exclaimed in delight.
She quickly ran over, crouched down, and reached out to pet the little fox's head.
The little fox didn't seem afraid of her; instead, it rubbed its head against her hand.
"It's so well-behaved," Zhang Xiaoxiao said with a smile.
"Yeah," Zhao Guangcai nodded.
"Guangcai, can we keep it?" Zhang Xiaoxiao looked up at Zhao Guangcai and asked.
"Sure," Zhao Guangcai replied without hesitation.
"Really?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked excitedly.
"Yeah," Zhao Guangcai nodded.
"That's great!" Zhang Xiaoxiao said happily.
"It's hurt; I'll go get the first aid kit to treat its wounds," Zhao Guangcai said.
"Okay," Zhang Xiaoxiao nodded.
Zhao Guangcai turned and went back into the house.
Zhang Xiaoxiao continued to stroke the little fox's head, feeling extremely happy inside.
After a while, Zhao Guangcai came out with the first aid kit.
He treated the little fox's wounds and then took a metal chain to tie it up in the woodshed.
"Guangcai, that chain is too thick; won't it hurt it?" Zhang Xiaoxiao asked worriedly.
"It won't," Zhao Guangcai shook his head and said.
"That's good," Zhang Xiaoxiao felt relieved.
"Let's go, I'll take you to see the doctor," Zhao Guangcai said.
"Okay," Zhang Xiaoxiao nodded.
So, the two of them walked out of the house together.
At this time, night had completely fallen, the sky was filled with twinkling stars, and the moon shone brightly.
The village was quiet, with only the occasional sound of a dog barking.
Zhao Guangcai held Zhang Xiaoxiao's hand and walked slowly.
"Guangcai, I feel so happy right now," Zhang Xiaoxiao said with a smile.
"Why?" Zhao Guangcai asked.
"Because you're by my side," Zhang Xiaoxiao looked at him and said affectionately.
Hearing this, Zhao Guangcai felt a warm surge in his heart.
He tightened his grip on her soft little hand as they headed towards the Village Clinic.
On the other side, on the village road, Zhao Xiaosong encountered the driver, villagers, and the village chief.
"Hello, may I ask who is Sun Qiuhua?" Zhao Xiaosong asked the villagers.
The villagers exchanged glances, unsure of who this man in a suit with gold-rimmed glasses was.
"Who are you?" Sun Qiuhua asked warily.
"Auntie, hello," Zhao Xiaosong smiled slightly and said.
"Auntie? Who's your aunt?" Sun Qiuhua frowned.
"Naturally, I am your nephew," Zhao Xiaosong replied calmly.
"My nephew? When did I have a nephew?" Sun Qiuhua was taken aback.
"Do you remember the Zhao Family?" Zhao Xiaosong reminded her.
"The Zhao Family?" Sun Qiuhua murmured these words, her expression suddenly changing.
"Yes, you should remember the Zhao Family," Zhao Xiaosong said calmly.
"I don't know any Zhao Family," Sun Qiuhua replied coldly.
"Really? You don't know them?" Zhao Xiaosong raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know them," Sun Qiuhua huffed.
"Then how do you explain why your daughter has the surname Li now?" Zhao Xiaosong countered.
"You..." Sun Qiuhua was instantly at a loss for words.
