When Bing Tianyi saw the expression on their faces as he spoke, the group was stunned, looking at Bing Tianyi with helplessness. After a moment, Ma Wenhong chuckled softly and said, "Mr. Bing, you can rest assured. As long as we have your words, we will definitely do as you say."
Bing Tianyi nodded in agreement. After a brief chat with the contractors, he turned to leave.
Once outside, it was already past ten o'clock at night. Bing Tianyi noticed Old Huang squatting on the ground nearby, smoking. He quietly approached and asked Old Huang in a low voice, "Old buddy, you seem quite relaxed?"
Old Huang rolled his eyes and replied with a wry smile, "What do you mean relaxed? Didn't you just finish the meeting? If you're done, we should head back quickly."
Bing Tianyi nodded and walked alongside Old Huang. Once they reached the car, they headed to his current residence.
After dropping Bing Tianyi off at the door, Old Huang drove home.
Bing Tianyi had planned to buy an apartment in the city, but every time he returned to his rental place, it brought him an unusual feeling. This small rental unit was also a source of painful memories from his past. Living here seemed to fuel Bing Tianyi's motivation to keep striving. Therefore, he decided against buying a place in the city.
Once inside, Bing Tianyi sat alone in his room. The night was quiet, and he couldn't help but take out the book given to him by the old monk and placed it on the table to read seriously.
Even though nearly three years had passed, every time Bing Tianyi read this book, he discovered its intricate insights. Whenever he came across something useful, he would pause and ponder it carefully.
Just as Bing Tianyi finished reading and was about to go to bed, there was suddenly a series of urgent knocks on the door.
Hearing the noise startled Bing Tianyi. It was already past midnight; who could be looking for him at this hour?
Thinking this over, Bing Tianyi slowly approached and grabbed a half brick from under the table that he usually kept for self-defense, holding it tightly in his hand. "Who is it?"
"Open the door; it's me," came a strange male voice from outside the room.
Bing Tianyi helplessly asked, "Just say your name; I know who you are."
At this moment, what frustrated Bing Tianyi was that the peephole on his door was broken, making it impossible to see outside clearly. He had never paid attention to this issue before, and now he felt a bit regretful.
"Who else could it be? Just open the door and you'll find out," the man outside the door whispered to Bing Tianyi.
As the other person spoke, Bing Tianyi had already moved close to the door, listening intently. At this point, he could confirm that there were definitely more than one person standing at his door.
"Hmph, not going to say your name, huh?" Bing Tianyi asked with a cold smile.
Just as Bing Tianyi finished speaking, he heard someone outside say in a very soft voice, "Big brother, should we just break down the door?"
"Of course not. It's late at night; making too much noise could cause trouble," replied the man who had spoken earlier in a low voice to the others around him.
After hearing their conversation, Bing Tianyi glanced around and quickly came up with a plan.
He took out his phone and recorded for less than a minute before placing it at the door.
"Ha ha, Brother Bing, you'll definitely be very happy if you open the door. I'm your old friend; have you forgotten me?" The person outside continued trying to persuade Bing Tianyi to open the door, thinking that if he did so voluntarily, it would greatly reduce their trouble.
After this was said, a voice came from inside the room: "If you have the guts, come in!"
Of course, this line was coming from the phone that Bing Tianyi had placed at the door. Meanwhile, he had already grabbed a half brick and climbed out of the window, quickly heading toward his rental unit's entrance. He wanted to see who these bastards were that were causing him trouble in the middle of the night.
After a long string of persuasive words from the men outside, they soon realized they might have been tricked. One of them angrily shouted, "Damn it! If you don't open the door, I'll burn you alive!"
As soon as the words fell, Bing Tianyi stood behind the group with a cold smile and said, "Kid, if you have the guts, go ahead and burn me to death right now."
"Let's go, brothers! Charge!" the man shouted loudly to his companions without hesitation.
The group was bold; after the man finished speaking, they rushed towards Bing Tianyi from the narrow passage.
However, Bing Tianyi was fully prepared at this moment because he knew that if he didn't show these kids some strength tonight, they might come back to harass him another day.
Thinking of this, Bing Tianyi looked at the young thugs in front of him, raised the brick in his hand, and struck directly at their heads.
After practicing for so long, if Bing Tianyi couldn't defeat these little brats, he would truly be embarrassed.
In just a few minutes, the group lay on the ground screaming in agony, with two or three of them running away in panic.
Bing Tianyi shook the brick in his hand and walked step by step toward the man standing at his door. This man didn't seem very old either, probably around twenty-four or twenty-five years old, with short hair that made him look quite spirited.
However, when he saw Bing Tianyi approaching him with the brick, the man's face changed dramatically; he turned pale and his eyes were filled with fear as he nervously asked, "What do you want to do?"
"I don't want to do anything. I just want to ask you what you want to do," Bing Tianyi replied coldly, his eyes filled with a murderous intent.
The scene resembled a group of sheep being slaughtered by a hungry wolf, with only the lead sheep left struggling for survival.
Upon hearing this, the man suddenly pulled out a dagger from his pocket and trembled as he said to Bing Tianyi, "Kid, don't come any closer; otherwise, I'll stab you."
"I'm just curious. Who sent you guys? If you had brought some real tough characters to deal with me, that would be one thing. But bringing cowards like you is just embarrassing for me," Bing Tianyi said with a bitter smile as he stood his ground.
The man frowned, raising the dagger in his hand and shaking it in the air as he stared intently at Bing Tianyi. "Bing Tianyi, listen carefully. Today you’re lucky; we... we’ll let you go. But next time, you won’t have such a good opportunity."
Seeing that the man could still say such shameless words at this critical moment, Bing Tianyi was somewhat impressed.
"Fine, considering how shameless you are, I’ll let you off today. But remember, never show up in my sight again. Otherwise, every time I see you, I’ll beat you up," Bing Tianyi shouted sternly.
Hearing Bing Tianyi's furious shout, the man looked even more terrified, the dagger in his hand shaking continuously.
Bing Tianyi sighed helplessly and said, "Just get lost."
The man glanced at his injured companions on the ground and shouted, "Let’s go!"
As this group of men left, Bing Tianyi returned to his door. Just as he took out his keys and was about to enter, he was suddenly interrupted by the earlier man asking, "Wait, who are you guys?"
Upon hearing the voice, Bing Tianyi quickly turned to look down the path. To his astonishment, there stood a masked man at the entrance, and more importantly, there was a fierce killing intent in the man's eyes—something ordinary people simply did not possess.
As soon as the man finished speaking, Bing Tianyi shouted in surprise, "You all need to leave quickly; stop asking questions."
Bing Tianyi understood that if these guys were not careful tonight, surviving would be nearly impossible.
However, what left Bing Tianyi speechless was that this group of defeated men saw the masked figure late at night and thought he was crazy. Even though they heard Bing Tianyi's shout, the leading man sneered dismissively at him and said, "You should think about yourself instead; don’t wait until I make you kneel down and bow your head."
Bing Tianyi had initially planned to help them if they really got into trouble, but hearing such arrogant words now made him lose interest. If they wanted to seek death, what could he do about it?
"Get the hell out of my way!"
At that moment, a small thug behind the Leader stepped forward and frowned at the masked man, shouting.
Before he could finish his words, the masked man reached out and grabbed the thug's throat. With just a slight squeeze, a crisp cracking sound echoed through the corridor.
Bing Tianyi hadn't even had the chance to shout for him to stop when the thug collapsed to the ground.
Seeing this situation unfold, Bing Tianyi felt uneasy. Compared to the masked man in front of him, he would have preferred to have twenty or thirty more young thugs around. He could tell that this masked man was definitely a serious killer.
The leader of the thugs, seeing his brother fall to the ground, rushed over in shock to help him up and quickly asked, "What happened? Don't play dead on me."
As the Leader spoke, the masked man said in a deep but powerful voice, "He's already dead."
With those words, the surrounding thugs were completely stunned. A few of them were so scared that they sat down on the ground, unable to move even if they wanted to escape.
Hearing this, Bing Tianyi quickly shouted, "Brother, I think you came here looking for me tonight. They have nothing to do with me; I hope you can let them go."
"Well, sure. As long as they can all get out of here within two seconds, I'll let them go," the masked man replied with a cold laugh.
Bing Tianyi could see that even if he gave these thugs two minutes instead of two seconds, they probably wouldn't be able to crawl out of the corridor.
Realizing this, Bing Tianyi knew he had to handle the situation in his own way.
