Yui raised her hopeful eyes to him, and the Prince lifted his eyelids, his gaze sweeping over her head and said calmly, "To answer Father Emperor, I have not seen her."
Not seen her???
Yui's eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at him, but he had already withdrawn his gaze, as if he did not want to look at her any longer.
Her ears began to buzz, and she could not even hear what the Emperor said next.
Her ears must be temporarily hallucinating; the Prince could not possibly say such a thing, it was impossible.
"Father Emperor, she is from my palace. She probably just got too nervous and misspoke."
Another voice rang out, stepping forward. He glanced sideways at Yui, saying, "Little Yui, you’re not going to deny it, are you?"
Yui dazedly lifted her head and saw a stubborn face that had only become sharper than three years ago.
"Sixth Prince..."
"Oh." The Emperor chuckled lightly, "Since she is from Old Six's palace, then Old Six can take her back. The palace is not a place where one can wander about; rules must be learned well."
"Yes."
Liu Fu Yeno roughly pulled Yui up, tightening his grip as he led her toward his position.
The seating was arranged according to titles, with the Sixth Prince sitting in the sixth position, meaning they had to pass in front of the Crown Prince.
Yui desperately wanted to break free from the Sixth Prince's hold and run to ask the Crown Prince why he had said that.
However, Liu Fu Yeno's grip was too tight for her to escape, and she could only be dragged along forcefully.
"Stay put."
Once they returned to their seats, Liu Fu Yeno shot her a warning glance before continuing to watch the performance, yet his hand remained firmly on hers.
All her words and thoughts were shattered in that moment.
When the third party made those remarks, Yui had felt confident. She believed that time could not erase the feelings between them; after all, they had endured ten years together in their childhood, so how could they not withstand these three years now?
But she was wrong; only now did she realize how absurdly mistaken she had been.
Her nose tinged with bitterness as she quickly lowered her head to hide her expression.
This was too much; this guy was being utterly unreasonable.
As the play came to an end, Yui was pulled away by Liu Fu Yeno before she could find the Crown Prince.
