The Crown Prince gently kissed her cheek, but his eyes were filled with gloom. "You've been following me for a long time, and your mind has become sharper."
Yui suddenly felt as if her entire body had plunged into an ice cave, her teeth chattering from the cold.
She had been making excuses for the Sixth Prince in her heart, believing he wasn't that kind of person. But human hearts are treacherous; how could she truly understand?
Unable to help herself, she burrowed into the Crown Prince's embrace. He was puzzled but still held her tightly, grasping her icy little hand.
This time... she absolutely could not let the Sixth Prince succeed. He wanted to tarnish the Crown Prince's reputation among the people.
Yui was furious; she would never allow him to succeed.
Meanwhile, the Prefect finished delivering an impassioned speech, and the Ritual Ceremony officially began.
Those wearing masks and loose robes sang as they circled around the high platform, while the people kneeling around them held their arms up and closed their eyes.
Yui looked up at the sky; it was clear and bright, without even a hint of wind or moisture from the East Sea. How could it possibly rain?
Yui leaned closer to the Crown Prince's ear and whispered, "I have a way to make it rain."
The Crown Prince furrowed his brow and held Yui tightly, refusing to let go. "Your energy has just recovered; can you really make it rain now?"
Yui herself was not very confident, but she couldn't bear to see the Crown Prince in embarrassment.
If she had to lie, then so be it.
Yui wrapped her arms around the Crown Prince's neck and nuzzled his face like a cat seeking affection. "Come on, trust me. After all, I am a Child of Rain who can summon storms. A little localized rain is nothing for me; otherwise, I would have wasted all these years."
The Crown Prince still showed no sign of yielding.
Yui decided to disregard any feelings of shyness and planted a kiss on the Crown Prince's cheek, continuing to act cute. "Please, just agree to it. I want to do something for you."
"Are you really sure it won't hurt you?"
"Absolutely." Yui nodded vigorously, patting her chest in assurance.
"Don't overexert yourself."
"I won't."

Yui crouched down and quietly slipped out from under the Prefect's watchful eyes.
It had been so many days; the Third should have returned by now. Gathering all her strength, she summoned the energy within her, but only managed to harness forty percent of her power. If she teamed up with the Third, there was still a chance.
