Those who have not experienced the Survivors of Calamity will never understand the thrill of narrowly escaping death, nor the joy that comes after surviving such an ordeal. 0

Amidst the joy, there was also time to observe the surroundings. Lying on the ground, he looked around. This was not the sky, but a pitch-black cave. Curious, he slowly stood up. 0

"Is there really a cave here?" 0

Scratching his head in confusion, the boy stood up and scanned the area. Turning around suddenly, a figure appeared before him. 0

"Ah!" 0

The boy was startled and fell back onto the ground, his eyes wide with fear. 0

Where did this person come from?! How could there be someone in this cave?! Wait! No, I'm a person too! Could this person have accidentally fallen down the mountain like me and crawled in here? 0

Suppressing his heartache and fear, the boy slowly stood up again, swallowed hard, and stammered, "Um... excuse me, are you a person?" 0

Uh (⊙o⊙)… 0

As soon as he said that, even he found it strange and quickly corrected himself, "Sorry, I meant to ask if you are a living person?" 0

Still not quite right, the boy couldn't think of what to say next. The words stuck in his throat for a long time as he wore a conflicted expression. 0

Ye Mingshang was also somewhat speechless, unsure where this child had come from. After sensing for a moment, he found no traces of Evil Arts or magical fluctuations on him—just an ordinary person. 0

"How did you get in here?" Ye Mingshang asked. 0

The boy shivered all over and quickly stood at attention. "Um, I accidentally slipped down from above; I wasn't trying to pick Snow Lotus and fell!" 0
Ye Mingshang looked at the boy speechlessly. With his keen eyesight, he could see clearly even in the dark, and naturally noticed the Snow Lotus that the boy had just hidden behind him. However, the Child was really not good at lying; he was truly inexperienced in the ways of the world. 0

Shaking his head inwardly, Ye Mingshang asked, "Did it accidentally fall?" 0

"Um." The boy nodded nervously, his hand behind his back moving slightly. 0

Ye Mingshang didn't bother to argue with him and said, "You don't need to hide it. I'm not interested in your Snow Lotus." 0

However, despite his words, the boy clearly didn't believe him. After all, this was a significant fortune; if they sold the Snow Lotus, their family would become the richest in the village. Although he was somewhat naive due to his poverty, he wasn't foolish. He couldn't believe that anyone would be uninterested in such a large sum of wealth, even city dwellers. 0

Shaking his head and ignoring the boy's wariness, Ye Mingshang stepped toward the cave entrance. 0

"You! What are you doing?!" The boy retreated nervously as Ye Mingshang approached him. 0

Ye Mingshang frowned and said in a deep voice, "Don't you want to go outside?" 0

The boy paused for a moment before replying, "I do want to, but the vine I came down on broke. Without a rope, it’s useless even if I want to." 0

Ignoring him, Ye Mingshang circled around the boy under his wary gaze. Just as he reached the cave entrance, the boy called out to him. 0

"The rocks outside are very brittle and sharp; it's impossible to climb up." 0

Ye Mingshang stopped and turned back to look at the boy. "I'm leaving. Are you coming or not?" 0

"But..." The boy hesitated. 0

"If you don't want to leave, then stay here. I'm going." Ye Mingshang turned around and prepared to exit. 0

"Wait!" The boy called out to him and then spoke with some difficulty, "Can you really take me out?" 0

Ye Mingshang turned around and looked at the boy. "Alright, but you need to rest for a while." 0

"What?" The boy was taken aback, not quite understanding what the other meant. Then he saw Ye Mingshang's eyes. They were not bright, but very deep, like two invincible black holes that drew people in. 0

He lightly set the unconscious boy down at the edge of the cliff, glanced at him briefly, and then turned to leave. 0

Saving someone was not out of kindness; it was just something he did naturally and according to his own will. If one were to say he was kind, those he had killed would surely rise up in anger. Going with the flow and acting according to one's heart was his principle. 0

A few minutes later, the boy furrowed his brows and slowly opened his eyes. The intense sunlight made him squint. 0

He raised his hand to shield his eyes and suddenly sat up, looking around in a panic. 0

"How did I end up here? Wasn't I gathering herbs?" 0

He thought in confusion, feeling as if something was missing from his mind. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't figure it out; it felt like he had forgotten something. 0

"Right! My Snow Lotus!" 0

Suddenly startled, he quickly raised his hand and saw the not-so-beautiful Snow Lotus in his grasp, letting out a sigh of relief. 0

"Great! With this many Snow Lotuses, I can finally go to school, and my family won't have to suffer from poverty anymore. Once I sell them for money, I'll fix our house first, buy my dad a new set of clothes, and I can pay my tuition too. There will even be some left over! Hehe!" 0

The boy laughed happily as he carefully wrapped the Snow Lotus and tucked it into his clothing. 0

He couldn't remember because Ye Mingshang had done something to him. 0

Although the other was just an ordinary person, he took precautions by hypnotizing him, making his subconscious ignore that memory. 0

With light footsteps, his figure flickered as he swiftly moved through the forest, clearly possessing the ability to traverse distances in an instant. 0

Running beneath my feet, yet my gaze flickered and my mind pondered. 0

It has been about ten days since I arrived in the Miao Region, and the tour group has likely returned. It has been so many days since I eliminated Rosen Hall; they must have realized it by now. The movements of Asura Hall over these days have undoubtedly been noticed by the Black Witch Cult. 0

The Black Witch Cult, with its three great masters and four major halls. Each hall is extremely important, serving as a Pillar of the Community for the Black Witch Cult. To say that being attacked by outsiders is a significant matter is an understatement, especially considering that two halls were wiped out at once. 0

"I can imagine that the Black Witch Cult is in an uproar right now." 0

While I pondered, my steps did not falter; I moved swiftly like a shadow and as fast as the wind. 0

I didn’t head directly to the next hall but instead slightly altered my appearance. I needed to understand the current situation; I couldn't afford to attack recklessly. 0

"Hey, bring me something to eat." 0

I sat down in a tavern, eating while keeping my ears perked up, carefully listening to the conversations around me. 0

A tavern is a place where all sorts of people mingle, a spot for casual chatter after meals. If something significant happened with the Black Witch Cult, it wouldn't be kept secret for long; I might just gather some information from these patrons. 0

"Have you heard? Two halls of the Black Witch Cult have been taken down," said a strangely dressed Miao person while drinking with his companion. 0

The other person popped a peanut into his mouth and replied, "Of course I've heard about such a big deal. It was Rosen Hall and Asura Hall, right?" 0
