After Ye Mingshang took off the waiter’s pants and looked at the loose boxers, he scratched his head in confusion. "Didn’t you say he was from Wa Country? Why isn’t he wearing a loincloth?"
The female police officer couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Come on, what era are we in? He’s not a ninja; not everyone wears a loincloth."
Ye Mingshang awkwardly chuckled. "I thought that Wa Country people always wore loincloths on TV. I assumed it was a national practice."
This comment made the female officer roll her eyes again. Ye Mingshang cleared his throat. "Anyway, this Fellow has fainted. What do you plan to do about it?"
"Of course, we’ll take him back and hand him over to our superiors," the female officer replied without hesitation.
Ye Mingshang couldn't help but pout. This female officer was pretty and skilled, but not very bright. Handing over an Enemy Spy she caught herself meant all the credit would go to her superior. However, since they were just acquaintances, he felt no need to remind her.
"Can you please take him away? I still need to sleep," Ye Mingshang said.
The female officer nodded. "Alright, thank you for your cooperation, but I’m afraid I can’t give you a certificate; this mission is classified."
Ye Mingshang shrugged. "Forget it, just hurry up and leave me alone so I can sleep."
"You..." The female officer felt a bit frustrated and wronged. When did she become so annoying to others? Why was she being shooed away like a fly?
However, Ye Mingshang didn’t care about her thoughts and yawned as he lay down on the bed.
"Hmph!" The female officer huffed in dissatisfaction, picked up the waiter, and prepared to leave.
However, just as she reached the door, a sudden gunshot rang out, and she was pushed back by a strong force, losing her balance and falling to the ground. The waiter nearby had a blood hole in his back, blood oozing out, staining his white shirt red.
"What’s going on?!" The female officer was momentarily stunned.
Not far away, several armed men in black rushed out, aiming their guns at her and preparing to fire. She realized it was too late to hide.
"It's over!" Despair filled the female officer's eyes.
"Bang!" A gunshot shattered the door frame, sending splinters flying.
In that critical moment, a strong hand grabbed the female officer's leg and pulled her back.
"You!" The female officer looked in surprise at the young man who had saved her.
"With your skills, you think you're an agent? I've never seen anyone so foolish," Ye Mingshang scolded.
The female officer bit her lip but said nothing; after all, she had just been saved. No matter how unwilling she felt inside, it was hard to argue.
Ye Mingshang pulled the female officer back but then perked up his ears to listen to the sounds outside before slowly leaning his head out.
"Bang!" Another gunshot hit the door frame.
Ye Mingshang frowned and took out his gun, pressing his ear against the wall to listen carefully to the sounds outside.
It was hard to make out...
The other party remained motionless, merely staring at the doorway, embodying a standoff where neither side moved. Ye Mingshang furrowed his brow, glanced around, and then went to the bathroom to grab a bathrobe, which he promptly threw out the door.
"Bang!" A gunshot rang out, accurately hitting the bathrobe.
"Right there!" Instantly determining the enemy's position, Ye Mingshang didn't need to look; he simply extended his gun.
"Bang!"
"Ah!"
Accompanied by a gunshot, one person let out a scream.
He hit his target!
Feeling a surge of joy, Ye Mingshang intended to step outside to assess the situation. However, he soon heard the sound of hurried footsteps. Unable to determine whether they were friend or foe, Ye Mingshang refrained from recklessly going out and instead signaled for the female officer to retreat. He pressed himself against the wall around the corner while holding his gun.
"Tap tap~ tap tap~"
The footsteps stopped in front of the door, followed by a moment of silence, likely as the enemy was signaling their subordinates.
"Tap~ tap~" Soft footsteps approached.
Given the circumstances, it seemed more likely that they were enemies rather than friends. Ye Mingshang steeled himself. As he watched a shadow slowly emerge, he decisively extended his gun.
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Two gunshots rang out almost simultaneously. Ye Mingshang shot down an enemy, but he didn't anticipate the opposing sharpshooter, who managed to hit his gun in such a short time. The impact caused his gun to drop, and his hand trembled slightly.
Rubbing his slightly numb left hand, Ye Mingshang pulled out his revolver from his pocket. He had made things difficult for Director Lu to get this gun, but it hadn't seen much use so far.
This time, he didn't act recklessly. Instead, he took out a few ordinary Yellow Talismans, recited a spell, and the Yellow Talismans transformed into small fireballs in the astonished gaze of the female officer.
Ignoring her surprise, Ye Mingshang formed a sword gesture with one hand and shook it a few times; the fireballs moved in response to his actions.
Ye Mingshang chuckled lightly and flicked his finger.
"Go."
The fireballs flew toward the door. The sudden appearance of the flames prompted the opponents to fire several shots, but how could flames fear bullets? The bullets passed through without causing any damage, and the flames danced joyfully as they moved forward.
"What is that!" someone from the opposing side cursed.
"Damn it!"
"What kind of trick is this!"
These fireballs were highly lethal to ghosts and monsters, but their damage to humans was quite limited. However, even so, they succeeded in distracting the opponents' attention.
Ye Mingshang clenched his left fist tightly.
"Bong!" A sound echoed as several small fireballs outside exploded simultaneously. Although no damage was done, it successfully obstructed the vision of a few people.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Ye Mingshang immediately aimed his gun outward.
"Bang bang bang bang bang bang!!!"
He fired six shots in quick succession until he ran out of bullets. Only then did Ye Mingshang retract his gun, which was still emitting white smoke from the barrel, and the revolver slowly rotated twice.
He hadn't specifically aimed at anyone; he had just fired randomly based on instinct. It was certain that he had hit someone, but he didn't know how many.
Quickly reloading his weapon, Ye Mingshang was preparing to fire again when a black object flew in.
"Run!" Ye Mingshang's eyes narrowed as he hurriedly grabbed the female officer and jumped out. As the black object rolled on the ground for two turns, it exploded with a loud "bang!" that shook the room, creating a large crater on the floor and causing dust to fall from above.
With no time to think too much, Ye Mingshang quickly fired a few shots toward the door and then pulled the female officer to the window to jump down.
"Ah!!!" The female officer screamed, thinking to herself, "Is this Fellow crazy? We're on the sixth floor!"
