Hearing Ye Mingshang's instructions, Joan nodded seriously. Although he was reluctant to admit it, his strength was indeed somewhat lacking. Despite his hard training over the past few days, his magical power had improved significantly, reaching about the level of a Real Person. However, his experience and knowledge were still too limited; compared to an average Real Person, he might even fall short, which was why he had yet to report to the Underworld.
While this level of power was not weak—after all, many Yin Yang Masters were merely Sages, and few could reach the level of a Sorcerer, let alone him being a Half-Real Person—he would not let such an achievement go to his head. The environment one was in shaped their perspective; having followed Ye Mingshang and the exceptionally strong Unprincipled, his experiences were far from ordinary.
Not to mention, he could never hope to compete with the Zombie Nie Jin and Corpse Demon Chen Huaisheng he encountered at Chen Family Hollow. At best, he could match the level of a Scarred Ghost. He could easily handle minor ghosts and small Zombies, but when faced with truly formidable opponents, he would likely be defeated in one move.
While they were discussing future matters, a sudden exclamation broke through: "Wow! The moon is red!"
Ye Mingshang was startled and quickly rushed outside, with the fat man and Joan following closely behind.
"What is this?..." Looking at the crimson sky that seemed to dye half of it red, Ye Mingshang was filled with shock.
"A blood moon rises; there will surely be disaster!" Ye Mingshang thought in alarm.
The fat man and Joan stepped outside to see the sky almost covered by Crimson Clouds, both taken aback. Even though they were novices in these matters, they could feel the eerie sensation; the blood moon was large, like a grinding stone pressing down on their hearts, causing discomfort.
However, the students did not seem to mind; they expressed their amazement at the Blood Moon. One Glasses Guy, adjusting his glasses, explained, "The reason for the red moon is due to a lunar eclipse. The thick atmosphere absorbs purple, blue, green, and yellow light, leaving only red light able to penetrate through."
"In other words, the atmosphere refracts red light onto the surface of the moon, as if painting it red, which is why we see a red moon."
Glasses Guy believed he was providing an accurate explanation while nearby students appeared enlightened. Some even praised him, saying, "What a genius! Truly experts are among the common people."
A genius? An expert? Ha! Nonsense!
Ancient texts record: "If the moon changes color, disaster will follow. Blue signifies famine and distress; red signifies conflict and war; yellow signifies virtue and joy; white signifies drought and loss; black signifies water; people will fall ill and die."
"Old Night (Master), what is this?!" The fat man and Joan questioned in surprise.
Ye Mingshang gestured for them to speak cautiously and then led them to a secluded corner.
"What is going on with that moon? It feels so evil!" the fat man exclaimed.
"Yeah, it feels like a heavy stone is pressing down on my chest, suffocating," Joan agreed.
Ye Mingshang glanced at the two, his expression serious. "The Blood Moon is an extremely yin and cold phenomenon, indicating that the righteous energy in the world is weak, while evil energy is strong, resentment is high, and hostility is fierce; great changes are coming, mountains and rivers are lamenting, the world is in turmoil, and fires are breaking out. It is also known as the Blood Moon!"
"There have been historical records stating that when the Blood Moon appears, a nation will decline, its energy exhausted, as if falling into hell. The Blood Moon symbolizes disaster in any country and foretells calamity; this time it may not be simple."
Ye Mingshang's expression was grave; the appearance of the Blood Moon was certainly no trivial matter. He did not believe that a mere small village could cause such an event; something significant must be about to emerge from somewhere, and the days ahead would likely not be peaceful. He could almost sense a smell of blood and chaos in the air.
After hearing Ye Mingshang's explanation, the two became quite tense, their faces showing signs of panic. "What should we do?"
"The world will fall into chaos; that's inevitable. We cannot control that. Right now, our main focus should be on managing our own situation," Ye Mingshang replied.
The two had no better ideas and were completely relying on Ye Mingshang as their backbone; they could only listen to his arrangements.
"You two keep an eye on everyone to prevent any unforeseen events. I'll go check around for any suspicious places," Ye Mingshang instructed.
The two nodded in agreement, and then Ye Mingshang quietly left while others were not paying attention.
The architectural style of Yizhuang was similar to that of a traditional courtyard house. After passing through the main hall, there was a small courtyard and several side rooms behind it. The plants in the courtyard were growing quite lushly; however, under the illumination of the Blood Moon, they appeared eerie, with branches obscuring half of the moon like devilish tentacles.
Although there were many people around, few dared to venture into such places, making it very quiet and suitable for Ye Mingshang's investigation.
Creak!
He opened one of the doors and tossed a Fire Talisman to illuminate the room. Inside were only some old furniture with nothing particularly unusual. After checking several rooms without finding any valuable clues, Ye Mingshang stood in the courtyard deep in thought.
Suddenly, he felt a cold wind blowing towards him, carrying a musty odor. His expression changed. Since his face was directed towards the ground and the wind was blowing directly at him, it meant that the wind was actually coming from underground. The musty smell must have originated from mold due to long-term neglect in the basement.
After some contemplation, he finally reached a conclusion: there is a secret room or a Cellar here!
Thinking of this, Ye Mingshang hurried back to check the rooms, occasionally knocking on the walls or the floor, and moving some furniture around. However, after searching for a long time, he found no sign of any secret rooms.
Feeling puzzled, he walked into the courtyard and suddenly heard the sound of running water. He quickly went over to investigate.
"Ah!"
A startled scream came from nearby. Ye Mingshang looked and saw it was a fellow student of theirs, with his pants half undone, relieving himself.
"What the hell! You scared me to death!" The person recognized Ye Mingshang and let out a sigh of relief, then complained with lingering fear.
"Sorry."
Initially thinking there was something unusual happening, he was disappointed to find it was just a student urinating.
"Never mind, just be more careful next time and don't make such big movements. It really could scare someone at night." The young man generously forgave him but suddenly shivered as he pulled up his pants. "Damn, it's really cold and smells terrible. That Cellar is truly cursed."
"Cellar!"
