Cutting off the ties of the mundane world, severing the seven emotions and six desires, solely to achieve the legendary immortality. Is it worth it? Are you willing? Many are not willing, yet even so, they still strive to pursue that elusive Immortal Path.
Slaying the Three Corpse is relatively easier, but only relatively speaking. Throughout history, how many have truly been able to sever the Three Corpse? Greed, anger, ignorance—one must first grasp them before they can let go. For ordinary people, letting go is difficult; for cultivators, taking hold is indeed challenging. Even if they take hold, it does not mean they are willing to let go.

Ye Mingshang chose to let things unfold naturally regarding these affections; he neither rejected nor accepted them—if they liked him, that was their business; his own lack of acceptance would be futile. As Haitang said, he could refuse but could not stop them from liking him.
