Ye Mingshang threw an object forcefully into the air, then formed a hand seal and chanted a spell. The air twisted as if ripples were forming on a lake, gradually taking on a vortex shape. 0

"The Gate of the Underworld is open; if not now, when?" 0

Ye Mingshang shouted, and the souls expressed their gratitude before eagerly entering the vortex. However, it would take some time for so many souls to enter; the Underworld needed to record their arrival, and such a sudden influx of souls required some procedures. 0

Taking advantage of this moment, Ye Mingshang sat down cross-legged to rest for a while. The fat man came over, pulled out a pack of cigarettes, and offered one to Ye Mingshang. After looking at it, Ye Mingshang accepted and snapped his fingers, causing a flame to shoot from his thumb to light the cigarette. He took a deep drag and exhaled heavily, feeling much of his fatigue dissipate. 0

He hadn't touched something like this in a long time, and experiencing it again brought an inexplicable sense of familiarity. Watching the souls leave in an orderly fashion, he felt somewhat emotional. 0

"Hey~ where do you think they'll be reborn?" The fat man asked out of boredom. 0

"Who knows? They could end up anywhere in the South Sea North. Maybe in a few years, some will be born right next to us," Ye Mingshang replied softly as he exhaled smoke. 0

The two chatted casually when Joan and the others arrived. Seeing that they were all fine eased their worries; watching the earlier battle from afar had been heart-stopping, resembling a clash of deities that completely transcended human capabilities. 0

"Brother Ye, are you okay?" Lin Qianqian approached and asked softly. 0

Hearing the deep concern in her voice, Ye Mingshang sighed internally and shook his head. He didn't want to appear too familiar or even somewhat distant; this was to help her let go. After all, he harbored an unshakeable image in his heart—one that made it impossible for him to have any improper thoughts about other women. Although he didn't know where she was, he would continue searching for her, believing that with effort he would eventually find his beloved. 0

Lin Qianqian bit her lip; she sensed Ye Mingshang's coldness and intentional avoidance. The distance between them felt like it had transformed from a piece of paper into a wall, creating an uncomfortable sense of estrangement. She couldn't understand why Brother Ye had suddenly distanced himself from her—had she done something wrong? If so, couldn't she just change? 0

Feeling the awkward atmosphere, Joan cheerfully stepped in to lighten the mood. He made various silly gestures that elicited laughter, while Midnight occasionally chimed in with remarks that left him speechless but unable to retort. 0

They didn't wait long; within about half an hour, all the souls had departed. Only two people remained in the air: a handsome man and a graceful woman. At that moment, they gazed at each other from afar, their expressions complex. 0

“Colorful Clouds, I’m sorry.” A thousand words tangled together, and all that came out was this one sentence. 0

Upon hearing this apology, the girl tightly closed her eyes, tears streaming down her handsome face. 0

“Colorful Clouds, I know my mistakes are too severe, and it may be difficult for you to forgive me, but... I truly like you, no! I love you!” The young man’s emotions were somewhat agitated as he looked at the girl in front of him with hopeful eyes. 0

The girl let out a heavy sigh, the tear stains on her face still visible. She turned her head away, not wanting to see him. 0

“Look, look at this once familiar land.” The girl lowered her head to gaze at the pitch-black surroundings, the atmosphere eerie. 0

“Do you remember how beautiful it used to be? Look, that is our village. Do you remember the wonderful days we lived together? Over there is where I found you, and there is where we often went to pick wild fruits. That is the stream where you fetched water...” As she spoke, her delicate fingers pointed to each place that once held their memories. 0

The girl’s voice trembled slightly, her emotions growing more intense. Her expression was filled with nostalgia; in her beautiful eyes, it seemed one could see images of the past. Although she did not look at the young man, her reaction still revealed that her love for him remained profound. 0

How could it not be profound? First love—how many can forget it? Especially for a pure-hearted girl raised in such an environment; the first person who entered her heart had become a knife, deeply etched within her. Though painful, she could not forget. To forget would mean to cast away her heart along with it. This man was the first and only one she had ever loved, yet he had hurt her deeply. His mistakes were so grave that she could never let go or forget. 0

“Colorful Clouds... I’m sorry...” The young man’s emotions were also low. How could he not feel the girl’s nostalgia and sorrow, disappointment, even despair? After all, he was the one who caused the deaths of thousands in Peach Blossom Village and turned what was once a paradise into a hell on earth. 0

Love? Of course, love—very much so. How deep was that love? He would be willing to give up his life and freedom for her; he would work like a beast if it meant regaining that pure love. But could it really be done? 0

He had hurt her—hurt her too deeply. He should not have naively believed that his so-called compatriots would be influenced by the atmosphere of Peach Blossom Village nor should he have thought that those cannibalistic Evil Spirits would put down their knives. 0

Yes, the truth of the matter aligned closely with rumors; the only difference lay in his intentions. From Japan to China, he had witnessed too much slaughter, too much corruption and filth. He originally thought that human hearts were the most ruthless things in this world—willing to cast aside conscience and humanity for profit. 0

He had seen time and again how people harmed their own kin for various interests. To survive in such a cannibalistic environment, he had even begun to change himself slowly—becoming heartless and cold-blooded... 0

If nothing unexpected happened, it wouldn’t be long before he became like them too—if he were still alive. 0

Until he met the beautiful and innocent Colorful Clouds, and encountered the simple and honest Peach Garden Villagers. At first, he was indeed very restrained and found it hard to accept. But gradually, he grew fond of this atmosphere—there was no suspicion, no conspiracy, carefree and simple happiness. This was the life he desired! Simple yet fulfilling, free from scheming and the burden of hypocrisy. Hard work, plain meals, and a beloved companion were all he needed... 0

If he could continue like that, his dreams would come true. However, his ignorance and foolishness shattered this beautiful picture; he overestimated the humanity of his fellow villagers. They were colder than the most venomous snake... 0

"Do you think an apology is useful?" Colorful Clouds sobbed with tears streaming down her face, looking pitiful like a pear blossom in the rain. 0

"Colorful Clouds..." The young man felt a deep sense of pity seeing the girl cry; he wanted to comfort her but didn't know where to start. 0

"You don't need to. Our fate has come to an end, and our feelings should disperse as well. After crossing the Bridge of Helplessness and drinking Meng Po Soup, we will be nothing more than strangers..." The girl wiped away her tears, took a deep breath, glanced flatly at the young man, and then turned away without looking back. 0

"Colorful Clouds..." Although the girl looked at him, that glance did not carry away all the feelings, all the nostalgia; it also took away resentment and despair. Just as she said, from now on, they would be like strangers. 0

The young man felt dejected as he watched her graceful figure gradually fade away until it vanished into the vortex. With her disappearing figure, a pang struck his heart as if he had lost something important, as if someone had dug out a piece of his heart. 0

"No! Colorful Clouds, I will not give up. If you do not forgive me in this life, I will seek forgiveness in the next! What I owe you in this life, let me repay over ten lifetimes! Even Meng Po Soup cannot wash away my memories of you or my love for you. From now on, I will be devoted to you; don’t think you can get rid of me, Colorful Clouds!" 0

The young man shouted desperately as he rushed toward the vortex, his legs moving frantically as if running. It seemed that this would allow him to fly faster and get closer to the girl. 0

Watching the young man's figure disappear into the vortex, Ye Mingshang reached out and summoned an object back into his hand, holding it close to his chest. Without that object, the swirling vortex slowly dissipated, returning to its original state. 0

Everyone present had witnessed the scene; old and young alike were moved. They all felt sorrow for that couple and sympathized with them. 0

Ye Mingshang couldn't help but recall another beautiful girl—the one who stood in front of him to block a blade—the one who smiled at him even in her last moments. His emotions stirred within him. 0

"If the heart is as clear as ice, it will not be disturbed; amidst countless changes, one remains calm..." Realizing his emotions were getting out of control, he silently recited Ice Heart Formula to calm himself down. 0

Aside from him, the others seemed to have touched upon that tender feeling deep within their hearts and nostalgia. Each one’s eyes glistened with tears as if that figure was smiling at them through a haze. 0

Indeed, everyone has memories that are both nostalgic and painful. 0

Shaking his head to ignore Lin Qianqian's tender gaze, he called out and led the way forward. 0

"Oh, the former Peach Blossom Land! If I could see it with my own eyes, I would gladly die for it." 0

As they were about to leave, the chubby man turned back to glance at the lifeless scene and sighed. 0

Perhaps the gods heard his longing; as soon as he finished speaking, the thick dark clouds that had lingered in the sky began to slowly disperse. The sun peeked out, and the first rays of morning light illuminated the earth, driving away the swirling darkness. 0

The originally gray and eerie plants revealed their true colors as the black mist dissipated. The trees thrived, flowers flourished, and with the dawn's glow, it transformed into a beautiful paradise. Everyone stared in awe. 0

"Hey! Fatty, your wish has come true; you can die now," Joan suddenly teased. 0

"What the hell!" 0

"Hahahaha!" 0
