Yin Yang Demon Suppression
I have to admit, when the Fat Taoist is seriously casting spells, he really looks impressive. His plump figure does not affect this perception at all. The sword, being the king of weapons, is also praised for its elegance. Therefore, those who wield swords are often quite handsome, although the Fat Taoist does not fit this category.
Fortunately, he is not using an ordinary thin sword, but a Tang Sword. His Xuanyuan Divine Sword is relatively broad, and when wielded, it exudes a domineering presence.
"The sword returns to the void, Prajnaparamita!" Unprincipled pointed forward, and the numerous Flying Swords seemed to respond to some kind of call. They lined up neatly like well-trained soldiers.
"Swish!" The countless Flying Swords arranged themselves orderly and danced in the air under Unprincipled's guidance, reaping one life after another. If I had to describe it in one word, it would be "graceful as a dragon."
The myriad Flying Swords resembled a living sword dragon, joyfully soaring through the Ling Kong. This beautiful scene was accompanied by screams and the splatter of blood and flesh, creating a stark contrast. — In the midst of demon-slaying, a sea of blood played with the Azure Dragon!
Using a popular phrase from ten years ago, it would be — incredibly cool! Awesome!
"Hmph! Just a bunch of ants. I can turn them to ashes with a snap of my fingers..." Unprincipled stood with his hands behind his back, sword resting against his body. He squinted slightly and looked up at a 45-degree angle, exuding an air of loneliness typical of a master.
"This fat guy is quite skilled; I wonder how many rounds he can last against Master?" Joan muttered to himself. Now that he had some free time, he realized that the Immoral Taoist was indeed powerful; when serious, he was not someone those Mountain Demons could handle. However, even though the Immoral Taoist was strong enough to easily slay opponents from Japan and effortlessly block attacks from one side alone, Joan did not believe he was stronger than Ye Mingshang. In fact, he thought that if Ye Mingshang were to intervene, it wouldn't take long for him to defeat this fat man.
This thought reflected Joan's admiration for Ye Mingshang, which had reached an unparalleled level. He couldn't help but wonder how Ye Mingshang would feel if he knew about his thoughts.
"At first glance, he seemed crazy; I didn't expect him to be such a master. With this level of strength in today's Taoist Sect, he must be someone notable; I have never heard of anyone like him." Although he didn't pay much attention to matters in the martial world, he still knew about the top powers within the Taoist Sect.
Ye Mingshang also felt puzzled; logically speaking, someone with such strength should not go unnoticed. Yet he had no impression of this Fat Taoist. The first time they met was in that same atmosphere. However, this technique seemed somewhat familiar; it resembled the skills from the lineage of Yan Chixia, and it appeared very authentic. Could that sword be the same Xuanyuan Divine Sword used by Yan Chixia back in the day?!
"Forget it; I'll ask later. First, let’s deal with these annoying flies." Ye Mingshang refocused on killing enemies.
Meanwhile, the Immoral Taoist effortlessly blocked the tide of enemies. Everyone was shocked; naturally, Joan remained calm. Although his own strength was low and he hadn't seen many people fight, most of those he knew were masters—except for his deceased master and Old Ma, both of whom were at the level of a Sorcerer. Both Ye Mingshang and Dunkong were at their master's level.
In this context, the power system of the Buddhist Seal is similar to that of the Taoist Sect, though they have different names. The hierarchy in the Taoist Sect, from weakest to strongest, includes: Sage, Sorcerer, Real Person, Master, and that ethereal concept known as Human Immortal.
For the Buddhist Seal, the weakest is called a Shami, essentially just an entry-level monk who can only recite some scriptures with limited magical power. However, do not underestimate a Shami, as many temples today do not even have an abbot with such strength.
The one corresponding to the Sorcerer above the Shami is called a disciple. With such strength, they can actually go down the mountain to experience the world. Such individuals often possess a certain Buddha-like compassion and a dignified, benevolent aura, introducing themselves as disciples of the Buddhist Seal. Even if they identify as followers of Buddhism, it signifies their identity.
In contrast, the Buddhist Seal known as a Real Person is referred to as a Master. Such individuals are already considered High Monks who have attained enlightenment. After passing away, their physical bodies can be cremated and transformed into Sariputra, or they can become Incarnate Bodhisattvas worshipped by others.
Those with strength comparable to that of a Taoist Sect Master are called Zen Masters in the Buddhist Seal. Like Masters, Zen Masters are also rare. Typically, only an ancient and well-established temple can produce such figures, and these individuals are generally reclusive and rarely seen.
Within Central Plains, places like Qingyun Temple and Dunkong possess the strength of a fully realized Zen Master. Additionally, Fangzhang Zongxin from Dragon Hidden Temple is also a skilled Zen Master. Lastly, Shaolin Temple is said to have experts at the Master Realm as well. Some may argue that Shaolin Temple is no longer what it used to be and has become a tool for profit. However, I must tell everyone that the long-standing legacy of Shaolin cannot be easily altered by such changes.
Although they have now turned towards commercialization, most new monks entering the temple lack true Buddhist compassion; many are simply university students treating this as a job. But that is merely superficial; the long-standing traditions of Shaolin cannot be destroyed by any one individual. The older generation of monks still upholds their original traditions. They distance themselves from materialistic pursuits while still accepting offerings from the temple since they also have expenses; they are part of the temple but belong to different factions.
People categorize these two factions into the Traditional Sect led by elder monks and the New Sect focused on profit. The Traditional Sect remains secluded in the mountains, and there are still many Experts within; although they seldom emerge, it can be confirmed that there is at least one Zen Master Expert among them. This explains why Shaolin Temple endures public criticism yet remains respected internally.
In summary, the power structure of the Taoist Sect consists of Sage, Sorcerer, Real Person, Master, and Human Immortal. The Buddhist Seal includes Shami, disciples, Masters, and Zen Masters. In fact, above Zen Masters exists another level of power referred to as Arhat; however, for many years no Expert has been reported to have become an Arhat. Dunkong is among those closest to this status and is regarded as having the greatest potential to become an Arhat in a century.
Returning to the main topic, this Fat Taoist can also be considered quite skilled among Masters in terms of strength. As for his ability to fly, it likely relies on his unique spells and that Flying Sword.
Being surrounded on both sides was initially disadvantageous for them; however, with the addition of Immoral Taoist, the unfavorable situation was completely reversed. He and Ye Mingshang each guarded one side and easily repelled all evil forces.
"This won't do; it's time for our soldiers to engage," Wild Flicker said with crimson eyes.
"Shut up, Yamamoto that idiot! It can't be that easy to kill them; it would only complicate our situation," Kameyama said angrily as he slammed his fist against the wall.
"We don't have time to worry about him anymore; if this continues, these cannon fodder will be exhausted," Wild said calmly while glancing at him.
"We have no choice but to proceed like this. I'll arrange it now; I don't know what's wrong with those two—don't they need mana? Damn!" Kameyama knew what needed to be done at that moment and cursed as he faded away.
On the other side, Ye Mingshang was also preparing to end the battle. He formed a seal and recalled two Puppets; with a loud bang, both a fat and thin Puppet returned to their original state—clay.
After such prolonged consumption of energy, even Ye Mingshang was feeling drained. Moreover, there might be stronger enemies lying in ambush afterward. Previously he could only endure it; now that Fat Taoist had joined in, those two Puppets were no longer useful. It would be better to recall them and restore his mana since creating them required considerable energy despite their small size and low power. Once he released the spell, Ye Mingshang felt much more energized.
"Alright, the battle should come to an end." Ye Mingshang whispered, then scattered the Divine Talismans in his hand. The numerous Divine Talismans flew out, each seeking its target. Ye Mingshang slightly bent down, steadied his stance, and clasped his hands together to form a seal.
"Earthly Nature, disperse Pollution; Cavernous Mysteries, illuminate Taiyuan; Eight Directions Divine Spirits, make me natural; Lingbao Fuming, proclaim to the nine; Ganluodana, Donggang Tai Xuan; Slay Demons and Bind Evil, save countless souls; Demon King bound, guard my domain; Evil Energy dissipate, Dao Qi endure! Urgent Order!!!"
With Ye Mingshang's loud shout, a powerful aura emerged, seemingly causing time to pause. In that moment, it felt as if time stood still; the countless ghosts surrounding them halted, the flying Divine Talismans froze in mid-air, and the Fat Taoist's Flying Sword also came to a stop. Everything maintained a moment of silence.
"What just happened?!" The Immoral Taoist immediately sensed something unusual. Being one of the top powers in the sect, he noticed the anomaly even in that brief moment and focused his attention on Ye Mingshang's movements.
The others were merely taken aback for a moment, thinking it was just their imagination or a lapse in concentration. Only the Scarred Ghost, due to being a spirit with a strong soul, noticed the brief anomaly. He looked around in surprise and finally fixed his gaze on Ye Mingshang.
Ye Mingshang's expression was fierce, and beads of sweat had formed on his forehead, clearly indicating that this spell was taxing for him.
A buzzing sound resonated as the void above Ye Mingshang seemed to twist as if someone had grabbed a piece of cloth. The distortion intensified until with a "png!" a massive Bagua Mirror appeared.
The golden Bagua Mirror Ling Kong floated above him, slowly rotating while emitting a series of buzzing sounds that proclaimed its extraordinary nature.
"Purification Spell? Has Master’s power increased again?!" Joan exclaimed in shock as he looked at Ye Mingshang. Back in Zhou Mountain Town, Ye Mingshang had used this technique multiple times. Joan had been amazed by its power then and had longed for it. But now it seemed that this spell was even more powerful!
"Purify! Purify the land! Purify all directions! Exterminate evil and protect the righteous!"
