Yin Yang Demon Suppression
Looking at the shouting Joan and the talisman on her chest, Old Ma couldn't help but twitch the corners of his mouth. However, he didn't tell Joan what to do, leaving her bouncing around.
"Ouch! The tip of my shoe is almost burned off! Old Ma, why isn't the talisman you gave me working?" As soon as she left that area, Joan couldn't help but lift one foot to blow on it.
"Hahahaha!" Old Ma could no longer hold back his laughter, bending over with his hands on his stomach, nearly in tears.
"What are you laughing at, Old Ma?" Joan scratched her head, then her gaze fell on the Yellow Talisman on Old Ma's shoe.
"Good one, Old Ma! Are you messing with me? Just watch my skills!"
Watching the two run around like children, Ye Mingshang felt a headache coming on.
After passing through the area where the Insect Tide appeared, they found many rooms inside were breeding grounds for insects. Looking at the densely packed white eggs, they believed it wouldn't be long before this place turned into an ocean of bugs. However, since they were there, they decided not to leave any trouble behind. Every time they passed a room, they would set it ablaze. Whenever they did this, Dunkong wore a compassionate expression and spoke words like "I send you to paradise," which left everyone speechless.
Soon, they reached the third floor where they encountered a powerful demon. After quite an effort to deal with it, they arrived at the location of the fourth floor. Only one person guarded the fourth floor: the Flying Zombie, Nie Jin.
"You have indeed not disappointed me!" Nie Jin said calmly.
"It seems you've been waiting for us all along. So tell me, what is your purpose?" Ye Mingshang also wore an indifferent expression.
"Purpose? I believe I've mentioned it before. I want my Master to be resurrected!" Nie Jin smiled.
"Resurrected? Do you really need to make such a big fuss for resurrection?" Ye Mingshang scoffed.
"Ha ha, if the soul were complete, there wouldn't be so much trouble. Unfortunately, during that battle years ago, Master was severely injured and his soul was damaged. If it weren't for the Ice Crystal Coffin, Master would have long since been lost."
"Then why are you doing this? To restore his soul? You took the life force of those villagers, didn't you? The souls under the willow tree outside the village were also your doing, right?" Ye Mingshang narrowed his eyes.
"That's right! Master's resurrection requires the souls and flesh of living beings as a foundation; they should be honored to become part of Master." Nie Jin said proudly.
"Amitabha! If Poor Monk is not mistaken, what you have set up is the Seven Lives and Seven Deaths Formation, isn't it?" Dunkong said solemnly.
"Oh? The old monk has some insight. That's right, seven hundred souls of the dead and seven hundred living beings' flesh and life force. All of this will be nourishment for Master's resurrection!"
"Despicable! Aren't you afraid of retribution for doing this?!" Joan couldn't help but curse.
"Retribution? Ha ha ha...!" Nie Jin laughed as if he had heard a ridiculous joke. "In the face of absolute power, what does retribution matter! Supported by the nourishment of the Seven Lives and Seven Deaths Formation, Master's strength will surely become even greater! At that time, it will be the moment of glory for my Ming Dynasty!" Nie Jin's expression revealed obsession and fervor.
"The remnants of the Ming Dynasty? Ha ha..." Ye Mingshang sneered disdainfully.
"You dare to look down on my Ming Dynasty?!" Nie Jin glared.
"The Ming Dynasty was indeed powerful in the past, but that was hundreds of years ago. Even if your so-called Master is resurrected, even if he possesses power comparable to the Four Great Holy Kings, what use is that? Do you think the three major sects will allow him to do as he pleases? Do you think the Four Great Holy Kings will let him go unchecked? Do you think the Underworld won't come back to capture you?!" Ye Mingshang narrowed his eyes, a deep contempt curling at the corners of his mouth.
"Nonsense! What does that have to do with us? Our Ming Dynasty's revival has nothing to do with them! This is a change in history!" Nie Jin roared incessantly.
"That's right, if you are still alive."
"What?!"
"Don't forget, you are already dead. What you are now are just evil spirits, and you have committed such heinous acts. The entire underworld cannot accommodate you. Dreaming of resurrection? Hahaha, what a joke!"
"Heinous acts?! I, Nie Jin, led millions of troops to expand the territory for the Ming Dynasty, achieving great military feats. The number of people I killed back then was far more than what you see now! Because of my remarkable achievements in battle, I was even appointed as the State Protector General, commanding the troops! What does killing these few people count for?!" Nie Jin's eyes reddened as he indulged in the glory of the past.
"So, you are already dead. Living people can kill thousands without being held accountable by the Yin Yang Realm as long as they do not use Evil Arts, but you are merely evil spirits now. If you were to live quietly in the mountains and maintain peace, we would not interfere. But if you dare to harm others, only Destruction awaits you!"
"Hahaha! What a Destruction! I want to see whether it will be your demise or ours!" Before he finished speaking, Nie Jin swung his spear and charged forward.
Ye Mingshang was about to intervene but was stopped by Dunkong. Stepping forward, Dunkong joined his hands together and proclaimed a Buddhist chant, "Amitabha! You have committed deep sins; the Poor Monk will send you to meet Buddha!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a powerful aura emanated from Dunkong, causing his white monk robe to billow in the strong wind, and the prayer beads in his hand swayed.
"Bang!" As both sides clashed, Dunkong grasped Nie Jin's spear with one hand. Nie Jin's pupils contracted as a hand suddenly enlarged before him.
Getting up from the ground, Nie Jin's expression darkened. "Good monk, you dare to oppose the Ming Dynasty. Death awaits you!" With a wave of his hands, a flash of lightning struck him. Nie Jin trembled as he continuously absorbed the power of the lightning. "You will all become nourishment for Master’s resurrection!"
With lightning flashing around him, Nie Jin reached out and grabbed the spear from Dunkong's hand, which flew back to him. He then thrust the spear forward, unleashing a bolt of lightning as thick as a wrist.
Dunkong's expression became serious as he threw the prayer beads in his hand into the air, where they floated before him and shone brightly under Dunkong's magical power.
"Buzz!" The clash of lightning and Buddhist light produced a series of buzzing sounds.
"Ah!!!" Nie Jin suddenly shouted and increased the output of the electric current.
Dunkong stepped back three paces, retracting the prayer beads, but his hands felt numb and trembled slightly.
Seeing Dunkong retreat, Nie Jin sneered disdainfully and charged forward with his spear, surrounded by crackling electric light.
"Die!" The spear thrust out as if a thunder dragon was coiling around it, exuding immense power.
Dunkong's expression grew serious as he prepared to withstand the attack with his magical energy. However, just as Nie Jin's spear was about to make contact, there was a loud bang. Amidst the flickering electric light, Nie Jin was sent flying.
"Finish this quickly!" Ye Mingshang glanced at Dunkong and said firmly.
Dunkong nodded, then clasped his hands together and chanted a mantra. A golden Buddha appeared behind him, resonating with rhythmic sounds.
"Thunder strikes the golden bell, divine lightning fiercely shatters the veil. Dragon thunder shakes the fiery earth, incinerating evil without a trace. Urgent Order!" Ye Mingshang also formed hand seals rapidly, surrounded by swirling lightning and electric fire, resembling Nie Jin's appearance somewhat.
"Go!" As Nie Jin stood up, Ye Mingshang shouted lightly and charged forward. The electric light crackled around him, significantly increasing his speed as he almost instantly reached Nie Jin.
"Seeking death!" Who was Nie Jin? The State Protector General of the Ming Dynasty had killed countless foes and possessed immense combat experience. He had already prepared to attack while Ye Mingshang was casting his spell. His right hand clenched into a fist, swirling with electric light that formed a faint image of a thunder tiger's head, roaring as it charged forward.
"Hmph!" Ye Mingshang let out a cold grunt, forming hand seals before leaping high into the air. He spun mid-air and executed a whip kick toward Nie Jin.
"Bang!" The clash produced a tremendous sound. Nie Jin remained rooted in place without moving, while Ye Mingshang was sent flying several meters back, his right leg trembling slightly. Although Ye Mingshang used his legs—three times stronger than his arms—Nie Jin's power was overwhelmingly strong; even so, he maintained an absolute advantage.
"Amitabha! Poor Monk sends you a Transmutation!" At this moment, Dunkong also attacked, his Double Fists striking with tremendous force. Nie Jin had just made a move and found himself in a moment of vulnerability, unable to counter and had to cross his arms to protect his face.
With a loud bang, Nie Jin crashed into the wall behind him, while Dunkong's left knee came up hard, slamming into Nie Jin's abdomen, causing the wall to dent.
The two clashes resulted in completely different outcomes. This did not mean that Ye Mingshang was inferior to Dunkong; rather, they excelled in different areas. Ye Mingshang had numerous unpredictable techniques, while Dunkong relied on brute strength to overpower his enemies. The effects of their confrontations varied based on their respective domains and the opponents they faced.
Though Nie Jin felt immense pain from the blow to his abdomen and wanted to bend over, he was restrained and unable to do so. Alongside the discomfort was a sense of frustration; after all, Nie Jin had once been the State Protector General, commanding the Bear Soldiers. Even the Chancellor would bow in respect before him. That was a time of glory, yet now, with the change of dynasties, he found himself in a situation where he was being beaten by others—how could he accept this?
"You... will pay for this!!!" The flames of anger consumed Nie Jin's heart as his power erupted, threatening to shatter his armor. Dunkong could only evade his fury.
"Ah!!!" Nie Jin roared continuously, his momentum rising. His upper armor had shattered, revealing solid muscles beneath. His eyes glowed blue as his long hair flowed in the wind, gradually turning silver. Under his overwhelming presence, the sturdy floor beneath him began to crack under pressure. Fragments of stone were lifted by the fierce wind, hovering around Nie Jin.
"Nima! He's transformed again! This looks way too much like a Super Saiyan!" Joan couldn't help but comment from a distance.
"Joan, come here! It's your turn!" Ye Mingshang shouted, calling Joan over.
Hearing that it was finally time for him to act, Joan was overjoyed and rushed forward. He had been anxious about not being able to contribute earlier.
"With heartfelt devotion to Lu Zu, may we relieve the suffering of humanity; may ailments be banished; may peace reign; with the ten branches and twelve supports, and the twenty-eight constellations; may the divine jade maiden hear us and bring forth auspiciousness; may the treasured sword shine forth and slay all demons..." Ye Mingshang quickly formed hand seals and struck Joan repeatedly. With one final shout, "With this sacred spirit incantation, may all demons be bound; Supreme Lord Lü, Urgent Order!"
