Ye Mingshang did not attack Xu Sheng nor did he say anything; he simply stood quietly in front of him, watching. However, the fear within Xu Sheng compelled him to bow repeatedly, not even daring to plead for mercy. 0

Xu Sheng's subordinates were frozen in place, looking at Ye Mingshang with eyes full of dread. 0

"Thud!" It was unclear who started it, but one by one they knelt down. Although they did not bow their heads, they lowered themselves deeply with their hands on the ground. Even though they knew that they were in a public place and outnumbered, and that in a society governed by law, the other party should not dare to kill them, the fear in their hearts did not diminish at all. That soul-deep terror forced them to kneel and lower their heads. 0

"What happened to them?" a member of the crowd asked curiously. 0

"I don't know, maybe they're scared from being beaten?" a young man replied. 0

"Are they filming a movie or something?" a girl wearing a cap asked. 0

"Doesn't seem like it," her companion shook his head. "Look, there are no cameras or recording devices. Besides them, there’s no one else around. And those people who were thrown away earlier didn’t have any wires. Most importantly..." The companion paused and looked at the girl in the cap. "Did you see that man's movements?" 0

Right! That man's movements were too fast to see clearly! If the last move was coordinated, what about the ones before? He covered five or six meters in an instant! 0

"Could he be an extraordinary person from legends? Or a cultivator?!" a chubby man in his twenties asked. 0

The crowd shook their heads; no one could answer that question. 0

Ye Mingshang stood quietly for a moment before turning around and carrying Joan away from the scene. His face was as calm as still water, as if nothing had happened at all. 0

Ye Mingshang left, but no one dared to follow him, not even the onlookers. However, when Xu Sheng and his group appeared, some curious individuals had already started recording with their phones. Although the subsequent scenes shocked them into a daze, those images were preserved. 0

As they watched Ye Mingshang's departing figure, a young man in the crowd whose face was hidden smiled strangely. 0

"Who?!" Feeling something unusual, Ye Mingshang suddenly turned around, scanning the area amidst the people's fear but seeing nothing. 0

Once Ye Mingshang had completely walked away, a young man let out a heavy sigh. 0

"Her senses are really sharp; she truly is a descendant of that person." 0

After that, there wasn't much happening. Although the Iceberg Teacher reported to the principal, Li Jianguo, who knew Ye Mingshang's background, naturally wouldn't make things difficult for her. Even though he found this woman somewhat strange, he didn't want to provoke her. However, because he was impressed by Ye Mingshang's abilities, he merely stated that he would handle it himself. If it weren't for the fact that this woman indeed had real talent and was somewhat peculiar, he would have long since expelled her from his school. He then called Ye Mingshang to inform her that the woman was a bit strange, which made him uneasy. 0

Soon enough, three days passed without incident. He continued to teach as usual; although he didn't get along with the Iceberg Teacher, the school was aware of her temperament and assigned her very few classes. Even when encountering Ye Mingshang, he didn't engage with her much. 0

However, during these few days, he received a task in Zhou Mountain Town within the Central Plains. He was faced with a tricky situation and hoped he could lend a hand. 0

It was on the third day after the Xu Sheng Incident that Joan woke up in the hospital room, initially feeling a bit dazed. After a few seconds of confusion, he suddenly sat up. 0

"Is it the Master? Did the Master take action?!" Joan exclaimed in surprise and then joyfully asked, "Has the Master recognized me?" 0

He looked around and noticed a note on the bedside table pressed under a cup. Joan opened the note and saw it read: "Three days later, Zhou Mountain Town. — Ye Mingshang." 0

"Ye Mingshang? Is that the Master's name? Sounds impressive." Joan scratched his head and then suddenly gasped in realization. "Three days later, Zhou Mountain Town! Is the Master asking me to go? Is he finally willing to teach me!" Joan was thrilled and then checked the time. "What time is it now? What! Today is the third?!" 0

Joan hurriedly tried to get out of bed but was stopped by a nurse who had just walked in. 0

"You can't get out of bed yet; your injury isn't healed," said a young nurse with a lively demeanor. 0

"Sister, I have urgent business; I must leave." 0

"No way! Your injury is so severe. How can you just walk around? What if your condition worsens?!" 0

"Weight doesn't matter; this is about my life. If I miss this, I will regret it for the rest of my life." Ignoring the nurse's obstruction, Joan was determined to leave. Then she remembered she hadn't changed her clothes and asked the nurse, "Sister, have you seen my clothes?" 0

"The last time you sneaked out, you were wearing the Patient Gown. Your previous clothes are in the cabinet by the bed. But you still can't go out; if you sneak away again, I'll be scolded to death by the director," the nurse said with a mournful expression. 0

"Thank you, sister. I won't sneak out; I'm going to handle my discharge now." Joan smiled and took out her clothes to change. As soon as she took off her top, the nurse blushed and hurriedly left the room. 0

Seeing this, Joan chuckled, "So she's a newbie." 0

After changing her clothes, Joan was about to leave when she noticed a guy in the next bed engrossed in his phone. Out of curiosity, she glanced over and saw something that would be etched in her memory for a lifetime. 0

"Hey, Mr. Qiao. You can't leave!" Joan ran out of the hospital like a madwoman, completely ignoring the nurse's shouts. 0

What she had seen was a video of the Xu Sheng Incident that had been posted online, and that otherworldly figure was deeply imprinted in Joan's heart. Her understanding of Ye Mingshang's power had deepened, further solidifying her resolve to become his disciple. She thought to herself, 'If I could have such abilities, I could definitely take revenge!' 0

On October 17th, four days after the Xu Sheng Incident, Ye Mingshang arrived at Zhou Mountain Town. As soon as he got off the bus, a familiar young man rushed over. 0

The young man looked unwell; there were bloodshot eyes and his hair was messy. 0

"It's you," Ye Mingshang recognized him after a moment. 0

"It's me, Master. I've finally waited for you." 0

"You've been here for a long time." 0

"I woke up and saw your note, so I came right away without knowing where to go. Later, I found someone to check the train schedule from Nanjing to Zhou Mountain and realized you hadn't arrived yet, so I decided to wait here for you," Joan said with a silly grin. 0

"You came just because of a note? Aren't you afraid I would have left first?" Ye Mingshang asked. 0

"I'll just wait for you to come back then." 0

"What if I didn't take the train, or if I'm just lying to you?" 0

"I didn't think that much. It's not easy for you to pay attention to me. I'm afraid if I miss this chance, there won't be another. Hehe." Joan scratched his head, looking a bit silly. 0

Seeing his expression, Ye Mingshang shook his head. 0

"Come with me." 0

"Okay. I'll help you with your luggage." 0

As they exited the station, a middle-aged man in his thirties approached them. Upon seeing Ye Mingshang, he greeted him with a smile, "Senior Brother Ye, you're here." 0

"Yes. What's going on?" Ye Mingshang replied lightly. 0

"It's crowded with people; let's talk in the car." 0

Once the car started, the middle-aged man politely asked, "Senior Brother Ye, it's been a long journey; would you like to rest for a bit?" 0

"No need." 0

The middle-aged man felt awkward and forced a smile. "This brother is quite straightforward; may I ask how to address you?" 0

Ye Mingshang did not respond, but Joan enthusiastically introduced himself, "My name is Joan, and I'm Senior Brother Ye's disciple. May I know how to address you?" He followed the middle-aged man's earlier way of addressing Ye Mingshang as "master." 0

Upon hearing that Joan was Ye Mingshang's disciple, the middle-aged man immediately became more courteous. "So you're Senior Brother Ye's esteemed disciple; my apologies. My surname is Ma, and I'm a Yin Yang Master. You can call me Old Ma." 0

Watching the two engage in conversation, Ye Mingshang impatiently interrupted, "Save the small talk for later. First, tell me what happened. Also, I am not your master." The last sentence was directed at Joan. 0

Joan awkwardly smiled, while Old Ma did not look down on Joan just because Ye Mingshang was not his master. In his eyes, the fact that Ye Mingshang, who usually preferred solitude, had brought someone along indicated that even if Joan was not Ye Mingshang's disciple, he was certainly extraordinary. Even as a mere attendant, his abilities should not be underestimated. 0

"The situation is like this: a few days ago, I received a job. It was about some foul entity causing trouble in Chen Family Hollow in Zhou Mountain Town. Initially, I thought it would just be a particularly powerful ghost or spirit. But when I got there, I found out it wasn't a ghost at all." Old Ma paused for a moment, his face showing lingering fear. 0

"Not a ghost? Could it be a monster?" Joan asked curiously. 0

Old Ma shook his head. "It was a Zombie." 0

"A Zombie... is it strong? The Zombies I see in movies are pretty weak," Joan asked, puzzled. 0

Old Ma looked at him with a strange expression but explained seriously, "Zombies are born from accumulated resentment and pollution; they are neither alive nor dead and cannot be destroyed. Among the undead, they are second only to the Ba. They can even evolve into Flying Zombies, which can fly and are impervious to blades and bullets; their strength is comparable to that of the Dry Ba. The Zombies you see in movies are nothing more than animated corpses in reality; they aren't strong enough for me to handle." 0

Previously, Joan had only learned a few things from his master before he died. So there were many concepts he was still unaware of; he had originally thought Zombies were just the stiff-bodied creatures that jumped around in films. He didn't expect them to be so powerful—no wonder Old Ma had looked at him strangely earlier. 0

"To have survived an encounter with a Zombie means this one must not be very strong," Ye Mingshang remarked teasingly. 0

Old Ma awkwardly chuckled. "I only took a distant glance and realized it was a Zombie before I ran away; otherwise, how would I have had the chance to sit here and talk with you?" 0
