I was brought to the Du Family ancestral hall, which was solemn and oppressive, almost suffocating. The elders of the Du Family had already gathered, each with a serious expression, their scrutinizing gazes fixed on me as if I were a lamb waiting for slaughter. 0

"Guo Lingxi, do you know your crime?" Mr. Du sat at the head of the table, his voice deep and authoritative. 0

I took a deep breath, forcing myself to calm down. "Uncle, I have acted with propriety and integrity; I do not know what crime I am accused of." 0

"Hmph, you dare to argue!" A woman stepped forward, pointing at me in accusation. "You have been married into the Du Family for barely a month, and strange occurrences have followed one after another. First, Du Ming was injured, and then the Du Family's businesses suffered consecutive blows. Is this not the misfortune you have brought upon us?!" 0

I coldly watched her performance, sneering inwardly. Her words seemed to blame me but were actually insinuating to the Du Family that I was responsible for Du Ming's injury—how malicious! 0

"You are talking nonsense!" I suddenly raised my head and stared directly at her. "Du Ming's injury was something I did everything in my power to save him from! As for the Du Family's businesses suffering setbacks, that is utterly absurd! Since marrying into the Du Family, I have never interfered in any business matters; how could there be any talk of setbacks?!" 0

"You..." The woman was left speechless by my rebuttal, her face alternating between green and white. 0

"Enough!" Mr. Du slammed his hand on the table and shouted angrily, "Right and wrong will be determined fairly! Bring forth the evidence!" 0

A man who looked like a steward stepped forward, holding a tray that contained a jade pendant and several pieces of paper. 0

I recognized at once that the jade pendant belonged to Du Ming, while the papers were letters I had written to my master detailing Du Ming's injuries and treatment plan. 0

"This jade pendant was found in the Du Family warehouse; it bears your aura. These letters were also retrieved from your room," the steward said expressionlessly. "These two items are enough to prove your collusion with those who attacked the Du Family!" 0

My heart sank as I realized someone had deliberately framed me! But why would they do this? What was their purpose? 0

Just as I was trying to make sense of it all, a commotion erupted outside the ancestral hall, followed by a panicked servant stumbling in. 0

"Master! It's bad! Someone has broken in!" 0

As soon as he finished speaking, a powerful force burst through the main door of the hall, and a group of masked men in black rushed in with weapons drawn! 0

"Protect the Master!" 0

The ancestral hall instantly descended into chaos as the Du Family guards drew their weapons to confront the intruders. The clash of blades and cries filled the air; what had been a solemn hall transformed into a battlefield! 0

"Lingxi, be careful!" Du Ming suddenly appeared beside me, pulling me behind him as he wielded his sword to fend off the attackers. 0

I noticed then that his face was pale and his breath unsteady; clearly, he had not fully recovered from his injuries. 0

"Your injury..." I looked at him with concern. 0

"I'm fine," he forced a smile. "Protecting you is my responsibility." 0

A warmth spread through my heart as I tightened my grip on his hand and fought alongside him. 0

The ancestral hall was in disarray, filled with flashing blades and thunderous shouts. I stayed close behind Du Ming, my Silver Needle flying through the air as I did my utmost to protect both myself and him. 0

Suddenly, a scream echoed from nearby, and my heart tightened. I immediately turned towards the sound and saw Bai Wei lying on the ground, clutching her arm, blood staining her sleeve. 0
"Bai Wei!" I exclaimed, rushing over without a second thought, with Du Ming following closely behind. 0
"Lingxi... I'm fine... you go... protect Du Ming..." Bai Wei said through gritted teeth, enduring the pain as she spoke. 0
I quickly tended to her wound and gave her a hemostatic pill. "Hang in there, I'll be right back!" 0
"Lingxi, be careful!" Bai Wei grabbed my hand, her eyes filled with concern. 0
I nodded resolutely and turned back to rejoin the chaotic battle. However, when I returned to Bai Wei's side, I found that Du Ming was gone! 0
"Bai Wei, where's Du Ming?!" I asked urgently, grabbing her shoulders in desperation. 0
"I... I don't know. He was just here..." Bai Wei replied weakly, guilt lacing her tone. 0
My heart sank instantly as an ominous premonition washed over me. I forced myself to calm down and began searching the area carefully, hoping to find some clue left by Du Ming. However, the shrine was in disarray, littered with signs of struggle; there was no useful information to be found. 0
"Du Ming! Du Ming, where are you?!" I shouted loudly, my voice filled with fear and despair. 0
But all that responded was the cold air and the relentless attacks from our enemies. I felt like a headless fly, stumbling through the crowd, consumed by overwhelming fear. I couldn't lose him; I wouldn't allow it! 0
The sounds of clashing swords still echoed in the shrine, but it felt as if my soul had been drained away; I could hear nothing but images of Du Ming's disappearance replaying in my mind. Could it be... could something have happened to him? No, it couldn't be! I shook my head vigorously, forcing myself to remain calm. He was so strong; he would be fine! 0
I stumbled through the crowd, scanning every unfamiliar face in hopes of catching a glimpse of Du Ming. But hope faded time and again, despair wrapping around my heart like vines, making it hard to breathe. 0
"Lingxi, look!" Bai Wei's weak voice came from behind me. I turned sharply to see her holding a letter with my name written boldly on it. 0
"What is this..." I trembled as I took the letter from her hand; a familiar scent of powder wafted up—Green Tea! 0
Inside the envelope was a thin sheet of paper with elegant handwriting: "Guo Lingxi, do you think you've won? You're too naive! Let me tell you, this is just the beginning! Du Ming is already in my hands; if you want to save him, come to Azure Wind Cliff outside the city—remember, only you can come alone; otherwise..." 0
At the end of the letter was a drawing of a bright red Red Spider Lily—beautiful yet eerie. 0
My heart plummeted as a chill ran from my feet to my head. Green Tea had not given up! She had captured Du Ming and wanted to lure me out! 0
No, I couldn't just sit here and wait for death! I clenched the letter tightly in my hand, determination flashing in my eyes. Even if there were mountains of knives and seas of fire ahead of me, I would go! I had to rescue Du Ming! 0
Just then, I caught sight of a blood-stained jade pendant on the ground; its familiar pattern made my pupils contract sharply—this was Du Ming's personal pendant! 0
I picked up the pendant with trembling hands; warmth flowed from my fingertips—I knew this was a clue left by Du Ming; he must still be alive! 0
Taking a deep breath, I held the pendant tightly in my palm and turned to Bai Wei with a firm tone: "Bai Wei, stay here and wait for me; I'll be right back!" 0
"Lingxi, where are you going? Take me with you!" Bai Wei struggled to get up but was pressed back down by me. 0

"No, you are too weak right now. Stay here and wait for me. I promise I will bring Du Ming back safely!" 0

After saying that, I no longer hesitated and turned to fly towards Azure Wind Cliff, with Bai Wei's worried shouts behind me and the cold smile of the green tea on that letter... 0
