This is a fragment of a map, made of an unknown material, smooth and transparent. The mountains and landscapes depicted are clear and vivid, but the labeled place names, such as Xu Feng, are completely unfamiliar; I have never heard of them. Compared to the map of the Liuxiang Kingdom, this fragment does not represent any location within the Liuxiang Kingdom.
The fragment has two straight edges, indicating that it is one-fourth of the complete map.
Inside the Wooden Box, there is only this fragment; nothing else. Xu Feng feels a sense of embarrassment after climbing up with great effort, only to find a single fragment. No matter how good this map might be, it is still just one-fourth of a whole, making it impossible to locate anything specific or acquire treasures from the map.
It is uncertain whether the treasures depicted on the map even exist; it could just as easily be a demon waiting for someone to rescue it. The items left behind by an Expert like Zuo Qiumingjian are unlikely to be disappointing.
Although it remains an unknown mystery, it is still a trophy. Xu Feng carefully stores the fragment in his ring space. Looking out through the window on the third floor, he sees cultivators in the square occasionally glancing toward the temple, waiting for Xu Feng to emerge.
Realizing that it is about time, Xu Feng puts away the jade slip, talisman brush, and Wooden Box into his ring. The Jade Table is now empty. He then turns around and heads downstairs.
Less than ten minutes after Xu Feng descends, the stone door of It Mountain Temple closes automatically, and a powerful formation activates again, sealing off It Mountain Temple.
When Hua Du and others see Xu Feng come out, they do not ask many questions but greet him instead. Together, they head toward the entrance in the south.
After being opened, the entrance uses a formation for teleportation; once teleportation is complete, it closes automatically. After three hours, it will reopen for cultivators inside to exit. This entire operation has been programmed by a master of formations; Six Sects cannot disrupt it and can only follow the established procedures.
When they reach the exit, the door has not yet opened. Xu Feng ignites a Spirit Talisman toward the sky, and soon Lin Fangxin rushes over from the woods.
Lin Fangxin takes a moment to rest at the entrance and feels much better. Seeing that only a dozen members of Six Sects remain and that there are none from Guiyi Sect leaves him astonished; this truly seems like risking life for money.
The two members from Black Wind Stronghold show displeasure upon seeing Lin Fangxin approach but refrain from expressing it openly since they notice Xu Feng's good relationship with him. They merely exchange symbolic greetings; after all, they are all part of the Loose Cultivator Alliance and must maintain appearances.
As the sun just disappears beyond the horizon, the stone door emits several creaking sounds before slowly opening.
Everyone steps out through the stone door; representatives from various sects have long been waiting outside, all led by their respective leaders.
Upon seeing their own Disciples emerge, the leaders of various sects were both shocked and furious, especially the Guiyi Sect, which had suffered total annihilation. Chai Longbo shot a murderous glare at the disciples of each sect, but upon seeing the fierce expressions on their faces, he simmered down, snorted heavily, and turned away.
The various sects paid no attention to Guiyi Sect's embarrassment and anger; after all, who would care about your troubles when their own disciples had suffered losses?
Chu Wushang's complexion improved slightly. In comparison, the New Moon Sect had the most members emerge from the Seven Groups of Forces, with a total of six coming out, but twelve had died inside. This left Chu Wushang unable to feel any joy.
Hua Guinian's face was already ashen. Previously, Wuhua Island had always been the biggest winner on every expedition, but this time was different; twenty entered but only three came out. Such a situation had never occurred before and was a great humiliation. To outsiders, it proved that Wuhua Island was declining and no longer as formidable as before.
Hua Du handed a storage device to Hua Guinian containing all the spoils from the Otherworldly Secret Realm, then took out a Jade Tablet and whispered a few words in Hua Guinian's ear.
After listening and glancing at the Jade Tablet, Hua Guinian's expression changed dramatically. He summoned a disciple and said, "Quickly go summon Chai Zhangmen from Guiyi Sect back here. Also, ask all the sect leaders to stay for a meeting." The disciple complied and left.
Chu Wushang's face also changed drastically as he held a Jade Tablet given to him by Cai Shujun and exclaimed, "You seven barely killed one of them?"
"That's right," Cai Shujun replied in a low voice. "If it weren't for Yan Da fighting three opponents alone, we would have all died inside."
"Yan Da..." Chu Wushang couldn't help but look towards Xu Feng's position, only to find that all the sect leaders were similarly glancing in Xu Feng's direction.
Half-Dead Bao felt quite awkward. The six disciples he had painstakingly trained from Black Wind Stronghold were supposed to make a fortune in the Otherworldly Secret Realm, but unexpectedly only two emerged. Moreover, they had to rely on Xu Feng to gain any benefits; it was truly embarrassing.
Half-Dead Bao had already broken his promise by letting his team leave early to pursue private ventures. Now asking Xu Feng for management fees felt inappropriate.
Feeling the unusual gazes from the sect leaders directed at him, Half-Dead Bao suddenly realized that Xu Feng had become a prominent figure during this expedition into the secret realm.
A disciple from Wuhua Island approached him and said, "Alliance Leader Bao, Master Hua Guinian requests your presence at Wuhua Island’s base for a discussion." Half-Dead Bao looked towards Hua Guinian and saw him signaling from afar.
Half-Dead Bao understood roughly what this was about and became serious.
The leaders of various sects entered Hua Guinian's tent one after another, while several disciples from Wuhua Island stood guard outside. Soon, Guiyi Sect's Chai Longbo also arrived and entered the Wuhua Island's encampment.
Xu Feng suddenly felt uneasy, as if something was about to happen. This feeling arose after the leaders of the sects exchanged glances at him, especially in Hua Guinian's gaze, where Xu Feng sensed an unusual tone—a message of insecurity.
Although he had not revealed his trump card this time, his feat of taking on three opponents at once inevitably raised suspicions. If he didn't have some secrets, no one would believe it, yet this secret posed a significant threat to the various sects.
Taking on three opponents meant that even the best disciples from all the sects combined might not be Xu Feng's match, and he was merely a Foundation Establishment Mid-Stage cultivator.
In a place where one stands out, the wind is bound to strike.
This was a place of conflict, no longer suitable for him to remain. Xu Feng sensed danger approaching.
He called over a disciple from Black Wind Stronghold and handed him several medicinal herbs, saying, "Deliver these to your leader; consider it my tribute to him." With these herbs, he severed ties with Half-Dead Bao.
The various sects had come from afar and brought only a few disciples. Aside from those entering the Otherworldly Secret Realm, only three or five remained at the encampment.
By now it was dark. Xu Feng walked straight to the New Moon Sect's encampment. The guarding disciples did not recognize him and were about to question him when Huang Chang happened to come out. Seeing Xu Feng standing outside the tent, he said, "Yan Daoyou, is there something you need? You must be looking for me, right? What do you need?"
Xu Feng was momentarily speechless.
Hearing Huang Chang's words, a man emerged from the tent—it was Jiang Quan. Jiang Quan owed Xu Feng a life and quickly said, "Yan Daoyou, please forgive me; this is not a public place and it's inconvenient for outsiders to enter. Whatever you need, as long as it is within my ability, I will not refuse."
"I'm looking for Cai Shujun," Xu Feng stated directly without beating around the bush.
Huang Chang's face flushed red as he hurried away in embarrassment.
Jiang Quan was also taken aback by Xu Feng's straightforwardness; even when pursuing women, one should be a bit more subtle. Girls should be coaxed rather than frightened. However, Jiang Quan maintained his composure and calmly said, "Sister Cai is in another tent. Yan Daoyou, please wait a moment; I will go fetch her." After all, owing someone a life meant he should at least run an errand for them.
Jiang Quan turned and walked to another tent entrance, gently calling out to Sister Cai. Cai Shujun quickly emerged, having tidied herself up a bit, more enchanting than the night itself.
In the battle of the secret realm, almost every elite from various sects owed Xu Feng a favor. Cai Shujun approached gracefully, her smile captivating, and Jiang Quan was momentarily entranced as he walked beside her.
"Yan Daoyou, if you have time, you are welcome to visit our New Moon Sect. The Mistaken Sword Hall will prepare a cup of tea for you to express our gratitude," Cai Shujun spoke eloquently, making it hard to discern whether she was being sincere or not. But even if it were insincere, coming from Cai Shujun's lips was enough to charm anyone.
"I had that in mind," Xu Feng replied, not caring whether her words were genuine or not. His response startled Jiang Quan; after all, she was just being polite. Did he really think it was so easy to visit the Mistaken Sword Hall? Jiang Quan had been at New Moon Sect for over ten years and had only been there five times. Yet here was Xu Feng acting as if it were as simple as going to a market.
Xu Feng then shifted his tone and continued, "However, I have important matters to attend to and cannot go. Thank you for your kind offer, Cai Daoyou."
Jiang Quan felt relieved; at least Xu Feng understood the situation. But then Xu Feng's next action made Jiang Quan question his emotional intelligence.
Xu Feng looked at Cai Shujun and said, "I have something I want to give you." Without hesitation, he pulled out a storage bag and handed it over. Jiang Quan found himself in an awkward position; he couldn't decide whether to stay or leave. Even Cai Shujun thought Xu Feng's gesture was too reckless. Giving gifts in public—did they know each other that well?
"Please pass this on to Elder Qiu Wuling," Xu Feng added promptly to avoid any misunderstandings.
Jiang Quan felt disoriented by Xu Feng's unpredictable words, unsure of what he might say next without filtering his thoughts.
A hint of disappointment flashed in Cai Shujun's eyes as she smiled and said, "I didn't expect Yan Daoyou to have such a connection with my master. Rest assured, I will handle this matter well."
Xu Feng wanted to mention Guo Xiangqian and Gong Duan but hesitated since he wasn't entirely clear on the situation himself. After a moment of contemplation, he ultimately decided against it.
Seeing Xu Feng hesitate again, Cai Shujun asked, "I wonder what Yan Daoyou has to do with my master..."
"I have long admired their reputation but have never had the chance to meet," Xu Feng replied. "I am merely entrusted with delivering something to Elder Qiu."
"Thank you for your trouble, Yan Daoyou."
The conversation finally came to an end, and the matters entrusted to Jin Liaoyuan were finally completed through Cai Shujun.
Xu Feng left the New Moon Sect's encampment without returning to the Loose Cultivator Alliance. The leaders of various sects were still in discussions under the tents on Wuhua Island, and it was uncertain when they would emerge. The increasingly intense killing intent forced Xu Feng to leave early.
What would these sect leaders be like when they came out? Would they reward him? No, absolutely not.
In addition to having strength far beyond his peers, Xu Feng had one crucial advantage: he was the only one who had reached the third level of the Otherworldly Secret Realm.
Even if no one knew now, ten years later, someone would definitely find out that he was the one who took the fragment of the map from the third level.
What awaited him then?
Xu Feng walked into the wilderness, preparing to fly away under the cover of night using the Wings of the Strange Dragon. Suddenly, a cold laugh echoed from above.
"Hmph! A bunch of frogs at the bottom of a well from Liuxiang Kingdom are conspiring to harm others here again."
