On Monday at school, as soon as I exited the exam room, I saw the homeroom teacher and Cheng Tong standing at the door. The homeroom teacher seemed to place great importance on this Mathematics Competition, as he personally accompanied Cheng Tong to participate.
At that moment, Cheng Tong was joking around with a few of his lackeys, almost blocking half the door. When they saw me, they immediately surrounded me.
"Jiang Ming, what are you doing here?" one of them asked.
"Hmph, she must regret not participating in the competition, so she followed us to the exam site," another sneered.
"How shameless! She clearly refused to participate and now shows up," a third added.
"She'll probably regret it later," someone else chimed in.
"Heh, it'll be too late for regrets," they all mocked me.
Even the homeroom teacher criticized me: "Jiang Ming, what's going on? Didn't we agree that Cheng Tong would take your place?"
"What are you trying to do by coming over now?"
Faced with their accusations, I coldly replied, "None of your business."
Hearing this, Cheng Tong's expression changed dramatically. He angrily asked, "Jiang Ming, what did you say?"
I shot him a glance and replied, "Can't you understand human language?"
"I'll say it again: none of your business."
"Get lost."
Cheng Tong's face turned ugly. He glared at me furiously and said, "Jiang Ming, are you looking for trouble?"
I scoffed lightly and challenged him, "Want to fight?"
"Come on then."
"Do you think I'm afraid of you?"
Cheng Tong clenched his fists, ready to charge at me.
At that moment, his lackey stepped in to mediate.
"Forget it, don't stoop to his level."
"He's just jealous of you for coming here."
"Don't pay him any mind, let's go."
Cheng Tong snorted coldly, "That's true."
"I'm not going to waste my time on someone so lowly."
"Let's go."
The lackey rolled his eyes at me, "Jiang Ming, you're really pathetic."
"You clearly have no ability and are still jealous of others."
"If you kneel down and beg for mercy now, we might consider introducing you to Brother Fang."
"If you hang out with Brother Fang in the future, you'll definitely enjoy a good life."
I coldly spat out one word: "Leave."
The lackey's expression froze.
He angrily retorted, "You don't know what's good for you."
"How dare you reject Brother Fang? Just wait and see!"
As the situation was about to spiral out of control, the homeroom teacher finally spoke up.
"Alright, everyone stop talking."
"Cheng Tong, how did you do on the exam?"
As soon as the exam was mentioned, Cheng Tong's anger vanished instantly.
In its place was pride.
He proudly said, "The questions were very easy; I finished them quickly."
"Getting first place should be no problem."
The homeroom teacher nodded with satisfaction, "That's good."
Cheng Tong glanced at me, his eyes filled with disdain.
"Unlike some people, who can only talk big."
The homeroom teacher agreed, "Exactly."
"Cheng Tong, let's go."
"Okay."
They left in a group.
Watching their backs, I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
What idiots.
After returning home, I opened my computer and continued drawing my comic.
My sister-in-law walked in and asked, "How did it go? How was the exam?"
I replied, "It was okay."
She smiled and said, "That's good."
"Once your competition is over, I'll take you on a trip."
"Sounds great!"
On Wednesday afternoon, the results of the Mathematics Competition were announced.
Before the results were revealed, many classmates in the class were discussing.
"Who do you think will get first place?"
"That goes without saying; it's definitely Brother Fang."
"I think so too; he's so impressive."
"He'll surely win the championship this time."
Cheng Tong's face lit up with a smug smile upon hearing these discussions.
He also believes he can take first place.
