The next day, I went to practice driving as usual. Lu Hao was still sitting in the back seat.
"Are you feeling better?" I asked.
"Much better," Lu Hao replied.
"That's good," I sighed in relief.
We continued practicing; although Lu Hao was still a bit tired, he was much better than yesterday. After our practice, I drove him home.
"You should go rest now," I urged.
"Yeah," Lu Hao nodded, "be careful on your way back."
"I know," I waved my hand, "goodbye."
"Goodbye," Lu Hao said.
I drove away and returned to school. For the next few days, I practiced driving alone. I found that I was becoming more skilled at it.
Finally, I finished my test and excitedly called Lu Hao.
"I passed my test!" I exclaimed.
"Congratulations!" Lu Hao cheered.
"Thank you! Same to you!" I said happily.
"Same to what?" Lu Hao asked, puzzled.
"You passed too," I replied.
"Me?" Lu Hao was taken aback.
"Of course," I said proudly, "I finished my test, so you must have passed as well."
"..." Lu Hao was speechless.
"What’s wrong? Aren't you happy?" I asked.
"I am happy," Lu Hao laughed, "of course I'm happy."
"That's good," I said contentedly.
"To celebrate your passing the test, I've decided to give you a surprise," Lu Hao suddenly announced.
"A surprise?" I instantly became excited, "What kind of surprise?"
"You'll find out tomorrow," Lu Hao said mysteriously.
"Why do we have to wait until tomorrow?" I asked impatiently.
"Because it's too late today," Lu Hao said.
"..." I looked at the time; it was only a little past eight.
"Is it late?" I asked.
"Yes," Lu Hao affirmed.
"..." I was speechless.
"Go to bed early," Lu Hao urged, "See you tomorrow."
"Alright," I replied helplessly.
We hung up the phone, and I lay in bed, pondering the surprise Lu Hao mentioned.
I thought for a long time but couldn't figure out what the surprise could be.
However, since he said I would find out tomorrow, I decided to wait.
I closed my eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
The next day, I woke up early, and after washing up, I went to class.
After class, I called Lu Hao.
"When are you coming back?" I asked.
"Soon," Lu Hao replied.
"Oh," I responded.
"Where are you?" Lu Hao asked.
"I'm at school," I said.
"Then I'll come find you," Lu Hao said.
"Okay," I nodded.
Half an hour later, Lu Hao appeared at the school gate.
I ran out to greet him.
"You finally came back!" I exclaimed excitedly.
"Yeah," Lu Hao smiled and nodded.
He was wearing a black trench coat and sunglasses, looking incredibly handsome.
"Are you feeling better from your cold?" I asked.
"Yes," Lu Hao replied.
"That's good," I sighed in relief.
"Let's go," Lu Hao said.
"Where to?" I asked in confusion.
"I'm taking you to get your surprise," Lu Hao said mysteriously.
"Oh." I nodded and followed him into the car.
We arrived at Chen Ran's studio, where Chen Ran was working.
He smiled when he saw us enter.
"Welcome back," he greeted.
"Mm." Lu Hao nodded.
They started chatting while I observed the environment of the studio from the side.
It was simply decorated, with various frames hanging on the walls, each containing a piece of artwork.
I noticed that one painting had a pattern identical to the tattoo on Lu Hao's wrist.
It was a rose, with layers of petals that were vibrant and striking.
"Did you paint this?" I couldn't help but ask Lu Hao.
"No," Lu Hao shook his head.
"Then who painted it?" I asked curiously.
"Chen Ran did," Lu Hao replied.
"Oh." I nodded and looked at Chen Ran.
He was focused on his work and didn't notice me watching him.
"Does he like painting roses?" I asked.
"No," Lu Hao shook his head, "he only paints this one."
"Why?" I asked, puzzled.
"Because it's his mother's favorite flower," Lu Hao explained.
"Oh." I suddenly understood.
"What about you? Why did you get this flower tattooed?" I asked curiously.
"Because my mom is in Paris, and that's where I found my direction," Lu Hao said, "and now I've found a new direction."
"What direction?" I asked, intrigued.
