After finishing our meal, Lu Hao paid the bill, and we left the restaurant. It was already past nine in the evening, and the night had fallen, with stars twinkling in the sky. We walked slowly along the road, the night breeze brushing against our cheeks, cool and comfortable. 0

Suddenly, something tripped my ankle, and I almost fell. "Be careful!" Lu Hao reacted quickly and immediately supported my arm. I looked down to see that it was Xiao Hei. It was squatting by my feet, looking up at me innocently. 0

I couldn't help but laugh as I crouched down to pat its head. "You little rascal." Just as I finished speaking, Xiao Hei suddenly opened its mouth and bit my hand. "Ouch!" I gasped in pain. 0

"Li Ting!" Lu Hao quickly crouched down, holding my hand with concern. "Are you okay? Is it hurt?" I looked at the back of my hand, where two clear rows of bite marks were visible. Although there was no broken skin, it was already red and swollen. 0

"I'm fine," I shook my head. "It doesn't hurt." 0

"It's all my fault," Lu Hao said regretfully. "I shouldn't have brought it out." 0

"It’s not its fault," I quickly explained. "I wasn't paying attention." 0

"We should go to the hospital first," Lu Hao insisted. "We need to treat the wound." 0

"No need," I waved my hand. "It really doesn't hurt anymore." 0

"No way," Lu Hao insisted firmly, his expression serious, leaving me no room to refuse. 0

"Well..." I hesitated for a moment and whispered, "Alright then." 0

Lu Hao immediately hailed a taxi and took me to the hospital. The doctor disinfected and bandaged my wound, then advised me on some precautions before finally giving me a rabies vaccine. 0

"Thank you, Doctor," I said as I took the prescription from Lu Hao. "I'm going to pay and get the injection." 0
"I'll go with you," Lu Hao replied. 0
"No need," I shook my head. "You can wait here." 0
"No way," Lu Hao insisted again. "I have to accompany you." 0
Seeing his stubbornness, I had no choice but to compromise. "Alright then." 0
We went to the payment window and paid the fee, then took the receipt to the injection room. 0
The injection room was packed with people, mostly children who were crying and making the whole room exceptionally noisy. 0
"There are so many people," I frowned. "How about we come back another time?" 0
"No way," Lu Hao firmly rejected. "It has to be done today." 0
"Then..." I hesitated, "let's wait in line." 0
We found a seat and sat down quietly, waiting. 0
I stole a glance at Lu Hao and noticed he was watching the children getting their injections with a faint smile on his face. 0
I couldn't help but ask, "What are you smiling about?" 0
"I think they're really cute," Lu Hao answered. 0
I was speechless. Was this really cute? They were crying so hard they could barely catch their breath. 0
After waiting for more than an hour, it was finally my turn. 0
The nurse asked me to roll up my sleeve and expose my arm. 0
I followed her instructions and turned my face away, unable to look. 0
"Don't be afraid," Lu Hao softly comforted me. "It'll be over soon." 0
"Okay," I replied quietly. 0
The cold needle pierced my skin, and I instinctively shivered. 0
"Don't move!" the nurse scolded. 0

I bit my lip, trying to suppress my trembling body. The syringe was slowly pushed into my skin, and the pain gradually intensified, causing me to sweat profusely and tears to stream down my face. 0

"All done," Nurse Sister said as she withdrew the syringe, her tone calm. "Press down on the cotton ball; you can let go in a minute." 0

"Thank you," I replied weakly. I lowered my head and pressed the cotton ball against the injection site. 0

"Does it hurt a lot?" Lu Hao asked with concern. 0

"Yeah," I responded softly. 0

"Let me blow on it for you," Lu Hao said, bending down to gently blow on my arm. His breath was warm and gentle, sending an inexplicable flutter through me. 0

I looked up and met his gaze. He was staring at me, his dark eyes deep and bright, like stars in the night sky. My heart suddenly raced, and my cheeks flushed. I hurriedly looked down to avoid his gaze. 0

"Feeling better?" he asked. 0

"Mm," I replied quietly. 0

"Then let's go," he said. I nodded, stood up, and walked out of the injection room with him. 0

By the time we returned to school, it was already past eleven at night. 0

"Thank you for walking me back," I said softly. 0

"No need to mention it," Lu Hao waved his hand dismissively. "Well... I'll head back now; you should get some rest." 0

"Okay," I nodded. "Be careful on your way back." 0

"Don't worry," Lu Hao smiled and turned to leave. I watched his figure disappear into the night before heading back to my dormitory. 0
