The classroom was very quiet, quiet enough for me to hear his breathing and the faint sound of the desk rubbing against the floor. I stood frozen in place, unsure whether to walk away or stay. I had anticipated that the plot of this novel would be complex, but I never expected it to be this complicated.
When Shen Linxi saw me, he did not stop what he was doing. It wasn't until everything was over that he stood up, tied the drawstring of his sweatpants, and turned toward me. There was no extra expression on his face; his voice was cold as he asked, "Aren't you leaving yet?"
I hurriedly stepped back and stammered, "I didn't see anything..." He seemed to smirk slightly as he brushed past me. A wave of fresh woody fragrance enveloped me, with an inexplicable scent lingering at the end. My face instantly flushed.
He suddenly stopped and looked back at me. "Jiang Banxia, Cheng Cheng isn't suitable for you." I was slightly taken aback and blurted out, "Then are you suitable for me?" Shen Linxi paused for a moment before letting out a low chuckle without answering.

When I returned to my seat to pack my bag, I noticed a piece of white wrapping paper on my chair.
“Here you go,” Shen Linxi's voice came from above me.
I tore it open to find a new phone charm. Clutching the charm, I rushed out after him.
Shen Linxi had already walked far away, so I called his phone. The call connected, but he didn’t say anything.
Leaning against the wall, feeling a bit lost, I asked, “Shen Linxi, where are you?”
Still no response; I even doubted if I had dialed the wrong number.
“I’m downstairs by the classroom building, but the motion-sensor lights in the hallway are broken, and I'm scared.”
After that, there was a beep as he hung up.
I leaned against the wall and recalled what had just happened, my face turning red again.
Suddenly, footsteps echoed in the hallway.
I instinctively looked up to see Shen Linxi walking up the stairs step by step. The moonlight fell on his shoulders, giving him an ethereal silver sheen.
His shadow was tall and slender; as the light shifted, his well-defined profile looked especially handsome under the moonlight.
I nervously swallowed hard, my palms sweaty.
He approached me and lowered his gaze: “Jiang Banxia.”
I instinctively stood up straight and raised my damp fingers to gently place them in his palm.
Shen Linxi didn’t say anything; he held onto my fingertips and led me upstairs.
I pulled open the drawer of my seat, where a neat stack of books was placed. I kept rearranging the books in the drawer to buy myself some time. It wasn't until Shen Linxi glanced at me that I slowly stood up and walked over to his desk. Shen Linxi was looking at his phone; when he saw me approach, he lazily lifted his eyelids, glanced at me, and then locked the screen of his phone. I took a deep breath, removed a few books from his desk, and pulled it open. Shen Linxi: "?"
