I have crossed into a book.
Waking up in an unfamiliar world, my first reaction was disbelief.
But looking at the completely different face in the mirror, I had to accept this absurdity.
I had crossed into the world of a Modern Romance Novel.
Fortunately, I became a Supporting Role in this book.
A second-tier actress with plenty of scenes, good looks, and decent acting skills.
Although I am not professionally trained, I quickly adapted to life here through hard work and years of experience in the entertainment industry.
Before crossing over, I was just an ordinary background actor.
Now, I possessed a more beautiful face, better acting resources, and had begun my acting career.
The first major production after my crossover was about to start filming.
I fought hard and finally secured a Supporting Role.
This afternoon was the press conference for the film's crew.
It was my first time meeting Xi Han.
The president of Fuyou Film Company.
His calm demeanor and undeniable authority made him impossible to ignore.
The flashbulbs kept flashing, making my eyes sting.
Xi Han sat at the head table, surveying the room with an air of dominance.
I was so nervous that my palms were sweating.
When Xi Han's gaze swept over me, I shivered all over.
It felt like a chill that penetrated to my bones, yet within that chill was an inexplicable allure.
Xi Han spoke: "For this film, we at Fuyou have invested a lot of effort."
"Once it is released, it is sure to achieve great success."
His words were filled with such strong confidence that one couldn't help but wonder if he had the ability to foresee the future.
Sitting next to Xi Han was Lin Ke, a top actress from Fuyou and the leading lady of this film. She smiled charmingly, "President Xi always has a plan; if he says it will be a hit, it definitely will be." Lin Ke did not hide her admiration for Xi Han.
Xi Han nodded slightly, a hint of arrogance flashing across his face. Lin Ke lightly praised him, "President Xi is truly impressive." Xi Han smiled but did not say anything further.
The male lead, Zhou Lin, sitting across from us suddenly spoke up, "Leng Yue, why are you so nervous? Is this your first time attending such a press conference?" All eyes turned to me, and I felt as if I were sitting on pins and needles. Xi Han's gaze was heavy, and I couldn't tell what he was thinking.
Zhou Lin winked at me, "Relax; you are representing our crew's image right now." I forced a stiff smile to indicate that I was fine. Xi Han looked at me deeply for a moment before shifting his gaze away.
After the press conference ended, my manager, Sister Yang, called me over. She pulled me into a corner of the hallway and whispered, "Have you lost your mind? How could you zone out during the press conference?"
"Do you know how those reporters write about us? They only write that we actors will do anything for attention."
"The fact that you could zone out during the press conference shows just how poor your work attitude is."
I hurriedly apologized, "I'm sorry, Sister Yang. I was just a bit nervous."
Sister Yang sighed, "I understand; it's normal to feel a bit out of place at such a big press conference for the first time."
"But you must adjust quickly and not give anyone a handle to grab onto."
"The company has invested a lot of effort into this production, so you must perform well for me, understood?"
I nodded quickly, indicating that I had remembered.
Sister Yang patted my shoulder, saying, "I know you have good acting skills."
"As long as you perform well, I will definitely help you secure the best resources."
I looked at her gratefully and said, "Thank you, Sister Yang."
Sister Yang nodded, "Go ahead."
Back in the lounge, I closed the door and leaned against it, letting out a long sigh.
This world is too cold.
