Yue Hui did not dare to offend the Hua Family too much and glanced at Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen's expression was calm as he looked at Hua Xinyuan and said nonchalantly, "Whether you believe it or not has nothing to do with me."
"You've got quite the nerve, don't you? By saying that, you imply you're afraid because you're not really a master of stone gambling. None of the esteemed experts in the jade industry here would dare to call themselves masters, so what gives you the right to consider yourself one?" Hua Xinyuan's demeanor was icy, and his tone was aggressive.
"I never claimed to be a master; I merely suggested that Miss Yue buy those three pieces of raw stone. She followed my advice and bought them, and they all turned out to be Imperial Green!" Facing the domineering Hua Xinyuan, Jiang Chen remained composed and calmly expressed his confidence.
Damn, that's true! Hua Xinyuan felt frustrated; he had consulted his expert advisor at the time but still couldn't make a decision, allowing Miss Yue to take those three pieces. All three were Imperial Green, while those left behind were not—this was no longer just luck.
Hua Xinyuan shot Jiang Chen a glance before turning away and ignoring him.
"Mr. Jiang, so young and accomplished; you will surely make an even greater impact in the future," Ye Xinru approached Jiang Chen to ingratiate herself.
"President Ye, you're too kind! It must be partly luck!" Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
Ye Xinru shook her head repeatedly; she did not believe it was just luck.
She admired Jiang Chen greatly, but just then, Yao Bao approached her, asking her to go meet General Kunsan in the Golden Triangle.
The other jade merchants also left in frustration.
"Mr. Jiang, let's head back," Yue Hui said, her gaze toward Jiang Chen filled with admiration and respect.
"You all go ahead; I have some matters to attend to," Jiang Chen replied.
"Mr. Jiang, you... you don't want to buy the Python Ridge Mine too, do you?" Yue Hui asked in surprise.
"I'm here for that mine, but not to buy it," Jiang Chen chuckled.
"Not to buy? Then what is it?" Yue Hui was utterly shocked.
Jiang Chen smiled without answering and said to Yue Hui and Rong Xiaoyan, "Alright, you two should head back."
After speaking, he turned to Ye Xinru. "President Ye, may I join you to take a look?"
Chen Zhi directly refused him, but Ye Xinru looked at Jiang Chen with some surprise and asked, "Are you also interested in Python Ridge Mine? However, I've already set my sights on it; I’m afraid I can't let it go."
"President Ye, I'm just going for a look; I'm not interested in jade," Jiang Chen said with a smile.
"Not interested in jade? Then what are you interested in?" Ye Xinru felt relieved but was even more puzzled by his response.
"There's no need for me to tell President Ye that. If you’re unwilling to let me accompany you, I have other ways to get there," Jiang Chen replied.
"Alright then, come with us. But I must warn you: if you're traveling with me, you need to listen to my instructions. Don't act recklessly or behave as arrogantly as before; after all, we're going to meet a warlord from the Golden Triangle who won't be polite with you," Ye Xinru hesitated for a moment but ultimately agreed to Jiang Chen's request.
Chen Zhi was very dissatisfied with Jiang Chen's joining, but Ye Xinru advised him to endure it for the time being.
"Mr. Jiang, when will you be back? How about I wait for you in Kun City?" Yue Hui asked as she stepped forward.
"No need, you can go back to Hangcheng," Jiang Chen replied, then left with Ye Xinru and the others, heading towards the Golden Triangle.
Yue Hui and Rong Xiaoyan stood in place, watching Jiang Chen leave, their emotions somewhat complicated.
"By the way, Xiao Hui, such an outstanding man, you could really develop him into a boyfriend," Rong Xiaoyan suddenly said.
"I already have a boyfriend, and he is a master of swordsmanship. Among his peers, there probably isn't anyone who can match him. Mr. Jiang's skills are indeed impressive, but compared to my boyfriend, there's still a significant gap. When you go to Hangcheng, I'll let you see for yourself," Yue Hui said proudly about her Brother Hu Yuan.
"A master of swordsmanship? Is he as dashing and handsome as the swordsmen in TV dramas?" Rong Xiaoyan showed a fangirl expression; many handsome male leads in dramas carry a sword and wear flowing white robes, looking exceptionally elegant.
"Pretty much, but those actors in dramas can't compare to my boyfriend in terms of charisma," Yue Hui said with a proud smile.
To the north of Myanmar lies the Golden Triangle region, historically known for its warlord chaos and rampant drug trafficking.
Jiang Chen, Ye Xinru, and others followed Yao Bao in a jeep along a bumpy country road.
They arrived at a village only after dark. The villagers were not simple folk; upon seeing outsiders, they glared suspiciously. Even the children held guns, their faces devoid of childhood joy, only showing coldness and brutality.
"President Ye, you will rest here for the night. Tomorrow I will take you to meet General Kunsan," Yao Bao said.
At night, the sounds of insects and birds filled the air. In the humid climate of the primitive forest, Ye Xinru couldn't sleep. She saw Jiang Chen standing outside, staring blankly at the dark night sky, and walked over to him.
"Mr. Jiang, are you afraid?" Ye Xinru asked with a gentle smile as she looked at him.
"There’s nothing in this world that can scare me," Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
"Oh really? Mr. Jiang, you are the most courageous young person I have ever met! No one dares to recklessly enter this Golden Triangle area; even I am just pretending to be calm on the surface while my heart is trembling inside," Ye Xinru said with self-deprecating laughter.
"President Ye, you are quite brave too," Jiang Chen said as he turned to look at her. He genuinely admired her; she was a very charming woman.
"What courage? It's out of necessity. If it weren't for... never mind that. Mr. Jiang, you should get some rest," Ye Xinru said, about to say something but suddenly changed the topic.
Seeing Ye Xinru turn to leave, Jiang Chen seriously said: "President Ye, if there's anything on your mind, feel free to tell me; I might be able to help."
Ye Xinru was determined to meet Kunsan without hesitation; there must be a reason behind it. Buying a mine from a warlord in a chaotic region for five billion dollars was not something anyone would do unless they were foolish. Even Hua Xinyuan was unwilling to do it. Yet Ye Xinru agreed without hesitation; there had to be a reason behind it. Jiang Chen speculated that Ye Xinru was likely not after jade but something else entirely.
Ye Xinru turned around and gazed at Jiang Chen before smiling gently and saying: "Mr. Jiang, I appreciate your kindness, but there’s nothing you can help me with regarding my matters."
Jiang Chen smiled; since Ye Xinru was unwilling to share, he wouldn't press her. Although he had a good impression of her, he wasn't going to insist on helping her if she didn't want to talk about it. With a slight smile, he turned back to contemplate the night sky.
