Li Ruyue didn't expect to see Li Min in Jiangcheng. She was a bit surprised and asked, "Are you coming to Jiangcheng too?"
Li Min smiled and replied, "Yeah, my grandparents live here, so of course I have to come back to see them."
Li Ruyue responded with a simple, "Oh." After a pause, she asked, "When are you coming over?"
Li Min said, "This weekend. I've booked my flight, and I'll call you then."
"Okay," Li Ruyue replied. After hanging up the phone, she suddenly realized that since Li Min was coming, she would definitely contact Wang Yueming. That's how she knew about this. This meant that her connection with Wang Yueming was closer than she had imagined.
Thinking for a moment, Li Ruyue sent a message to Wang Yueming: "Have you been in touch with Li Min?"
Wang Yueming quickly replied, "Yes."
Li Ruyue asked, "How did you get in touch?"
Wang Yueming responded, "Her grandparents live in Jiangcheng."
Li Ruyue replied, "Oh." After another pause, she asked, "How did your college entrance exam go?"
Wang Yueming said, "Pretty well."
Li Ruyue inquired, "Which school did you go to?"
Wang Yueming answered, "Jiangcheng University."
Li Ruyue was taken aback. Although Jiangcheng University was a key institution, it wasn't highly ranked nationally and didn't have high admission scores. With Wang Yueming's abilities, it was unlikely she couldn't get into a better school.
After thinking for a moment, Li Ruyue asked, "What happened? Didn't you usually do well in your studies? Why didn't you go to a better school?"
Wang Yueming explained, "I marked the wrong answers on the English exam."
Li Ruyue felt a bit regretful and said, "That's really unfortunate."
Wang Yueming replied, "It doesn't matter; I wasn't planning to go anyway."
Li Ruyue remained silent.
She paused for a moment and then asked, "So what are you planning to do in the future?"
Wang Yueming replied, "First, I need to find a job. I can consider graduate school later if the opportunity arises."
Li Ruyue responded, "...Oh."
After a brief silence, she asked, "Where are you working now?"
Wang Yueming said, "I haven't found a job yet."
Li Ruyue was silent. Unable to hold back, she asked, "Haven't you looked for a job?"
Wang Yueming replied, "I have, but there aren't any suitable ones."
Li Ruyue was speechless. "Why are you so picky?"
Wang Yueming remained silent for a moment before suddenly asking, "Where do you hope I will work?"
Li Ruyue hesitated and said, "I hope you go to Jiangcheng."
Wang Yueming was quiet for a long time before saying, "I'm currently substituting at the Ninth Middle School."
Li Ruyue was taken aback. "Ninth Middle School?"
Wang Yueming confirmed, "Yes."
Li Ruyue felt a mix of emotions. The Ninth Middle School was their alma mater. She didn't expect Wang Yueming to choose to return as a teacher.
Not knowing what to say, Li Ruyue fell silent as well, and Wang Yueming did not send any more messages. They both lapsed into silence.
After a while, the elevator arrived.
Li Ruyue stepped into the elevator and watched the doors slowly close, her heart suddenly racing.
She pressed her hand against her chest, breathing slightly heavier as she stared at the elevator doors with a dazed expression.
She didn't know what kind of relationship she had with Wang Yueming now. Friends? Clearly not.

After hanging up the phone, Li Ruyue stood there, feeling complicated emotions.
She realized that she had been avoiding her relationship with Wang Yueming.
She didn't want to become strangers with him, nor did she want to go back to the past.
She didn't know what to do about Wang Yueming.
Li Ruyue sighed, sat on the bed, picked up her phone, hesitated for a moment, and then sent Wang Yueming a message.
"I'm not coming back tonight; you should get some rest."
Wang Yueming quickly replied: "Okay."
Li Ruyue looked at the message and felt a pang in her heart.
She really wanted to tell Wang Yueming that she also wanted to see him.
But she didn't dare.
She was afraid of being hurt again.
