Huo Qing, clad in dark iron armor and wielding a long spear, charged forward like a war god, leading a massive army toward the imperial troops. 0

From a distance, the sight of Huo Qing brought a subtle, cold smile to the fat man's lips. He spurred his horse forward, which let out a loud neigh as it galloped toward Huo Qing. 0

"Huo Qing, today is your day to die!" the fat man shouted angrily, swinging his longsword down toward Huo Qing. 0

A trace of disdain flashed in Huo Qing's eyes as he casually raised his spear to deflect the fat man's attack. 0

"Child's play!" Huo Qing scoffed, shaking his spear, which transformed into a silver dragon, lunging straight for the fat man's face. 0

The fat man was prepared; he sidestepped and narrowly avoided Huo Qing's strike. 0

The two exchanged blows, caught in a fierce battle. 0

"Kill them all—" 0

The soldiers from both sides soon clashed together, the sounds of battle echoing thunderously with flashes of blades and sprays of blood. 0

"Watch out, General!" 0

An imperial soldier suddenly charged from the side, swinging his sword at Huo Qing. 0

With quick reflexes, Huo Qing turned his spear and impaled the soldier beneath his horse. 0

"Overestimating yourself!" Huo Qing coldly glanced at the corpse of the soldier on the ground, filled with contempt. 0

"Huo Qing, you are too arrogant!" 0

At that moment, the fat man's voice suddenly came from behind Huo Qing. 0

Startled, Huo Qing turned around sharply only to find that the fat man had somehow circled behind him, thrusting his longsword toward Huo Qing's back. 0

Huo Qing had no time to dodge and could only watch helplessly as the sword plunged toward his chest. 0

"Thud—" 0

A soft sound echoed as the longsword pierced into Huo Qing's chest. 0

"You..." 0

Huo Qing looked at the fat man in disbelief, his eyes filled with resentment. 0

"Did you think I would be easily defeated by you like last time?" The fat man sneered coldly, drawing his long sword as blood gushed forth. 0

Huo Qing's body swayed and ultimately fell from his horse. 0

"General!" 0

The surrounding soldiers gasped in shock at the sight. 0

"Retreat! Quickly retreat!" 0

Seeing the situation turn dire, Huo Qing's deputy immediately ordered a withdrawal. 0

The imperial soldiers, invigorated, began to pursue. 0

"Do not pursue a desperate enemy!" 0

Upon seeing this, the fat man quickly commanded to halt the chase. 0

He dismounted and walked over to Huo Qing's lifeless body, a complex expression flashing in his eyes. 0

"Huo Qing, we had no enmity between us. Yet, we serve our own masters, and this is how it ends. You cannot blame me for being ruthless," the fat man sighed and reached out to close Huo Qing's eyes. 0

"General, we have won!" 0

At that moment, Cang Feng rode up, his face filled with excitement. 0

"Yes, we have won," the fat man nodded, but there was no trace of joy in his eyes. 0

He lifted his head and gazed into the distance, knowing that this war was far from over. 0

The fat man's expression grew serious as he surveyed the surroundings; the battlefield was strewn with corpses, rivers of blood flowed, and the air was thick with a nauseating stench of blood. 0

"Clean up the battlefield and account for the casualties," he ordered in a deep voice, with no hint of victory in his tone. 0

"Yes!" The Messenger responded and went to carry out the order. 0

Cang Feng rode over to the stout man, unable to hide his joy. "General, we have achieved a great victory in this battle. Huo Qing has already..." 0

"It's not that simple," the stout man interrupted Cang Feng. He dismounted and walked over to Huo Qing's "body," carefully examining the surroundings. 0

"General, are you saying..." Cang Feng followed the stout man's gaze, his expression growing serious. 0

Around Huo Qing's "body," there was not a single trace of blood apart from the long sword piercing his chest, and his fingers, which were gripping the spear, were slightly bent, suggesting he had not completely lost his strength. 0

"Huo Qing is cunning; he couldn't have been defeated so easily by us," the stout man said solemnly. "Everything has gone too smoothly—smoothly enough to be unsettling." 0

Cang Feng also recognized the seriousness of the situation and asked in a low voice, "Then what should we do now, General?" 0

"Send word down the line for the entire army to strengthen their defenses and closely monitor any movements around us, especially along the routes where Huo Qing might appear," the stout man said, a glint of determination in his eyes. "Since Huo Qing wants to play games, then we will play along with him!" 0

"Yes!" Cang Feng replied and set off to relay the orders. 0

The stout man stood still, gazing deeply into the distance. He knew this was merely the calm before the storm; the real battle was just beginning. 0
