“Xia Xiaoyu, where have you been? I didn't see you this morning!”
At six in the evening, Xia Xiaoyu returned to the dormitory and saw everyone from All Dormitory. Chen Mumu approached her and asked.
“I went out yesterday!”
The matter was already settled, and Xia Xiaoyu felt no need to mention everything that happened last night.
Let it all be like a dream from last night.
This dream held fear, heartache, and also genuine feelings.
Xia Xiaoyu didn’t say much more. She stood in the corridor, casting her gaze from the Fifth Floor towards the entire University.
On both sides of Small Grove were the long Cherry Blossom Path, adorned with incredibly beautiful flowers—so lovely!
The whole University was filled with vitality and energy.
Xia Xiaoyu closed her eyes, quietly feeling the captivating atmosphere of the University. Everything had come to an end; this was what she had longed for.
Yet, she felt as if something important was missing in her life, leaving her feeling empty.
In her pocket, her phone vibrated lightly, and the ringtone rang clearly. Xia Xiaoyu exhaled and took out her phone to check the screen—it was Xu Qian calling.
“Xiao Qian, what’s up?”
Xia Xiaoyu put away her thoughts and asked seriously.
"Don't be so serious. I mean, in a few days, I will officially get promoted. Can we celebrate together?"
On the other end of the phone, Xu Qian's cheerful voice came through.
"Sure!"
Xia Xiaoyu responded with a smile, but her expression quickly turned somber again as she softly asked, "Will that friend of yours be coming too?"
Xia Xiaoyu couldn't help but think of the handsome man with light blue hair.
"Are you talking about A Feng?"
There was a moment of silence on the other end, and then the voice replied with a hint of sadness, "He’s gone, and he might not come back."
"Gone!"
Xia Xiaoyu exclaimed in surprise, and then her expression darkened. "Oh, I see."
After hanging up the phone, Xia Xiaoyu felt a hollow sensation rise within her. She glanced at the university and suddenly felt that everything had changed drastically.
Bored, she returned to her dormitory and lazily sat on the edge of her bed, feeling anxious and restless. She used to want to end everything she encountered, but now that it was over, she couldn't feel any happiness at all.
Thinking back on everything she had experienced, it always felt so unreal, so hard to believe.
After ten o'clock in the evening, Xia Xiaoyu went to bed early. The scene from last night had nearly pushed her to the brink of collapse; she needed rest. The clock on the wall continued to tick with a crisp sound as Xia Xiaoyu's thoughts gradually became hazy. Slowly, she felt herself disconnecting from the outside world.
Bang...
A clear sound suddenly rang out, and Xia Xiaoyu opened her eyes, bewildered as she looked around. Under the cold moonlight, a chilling wind blew through.
Xia Xiaoyu shivered all over; everything around her was white and bright. Eventually, she began to see her surroundings clearly.
It was a tomb.
In the cold moonlight, rows of white tombstones stood in the night, emanating a sense of chill. The night was eerily silent.
However, Xia Xiaoyu did not feel particularly afraid; perhaps it was because she had encountered too many terrifying things already.
She stood at the entrance of the tomb for a long time before walking inside. As she entered the tomb, a bone-chilling cold began to seep in.
On the first tombstone, under the reflection of the cold moonlight, words were engraved. In the center of the tombstone, there was a photo attached—a young woman, probably in her thirties, still smiling.
Xia Xiaoyu walked forward again. On the second tombstone, different words were similarly inscribed. In the center was a photo of an elderly woman, around fifty or sixty years old, her face full of wrinkles and looking very aged.
Xia Xiaoyu continued to move forward. Although the atmosphere felt stifling, her heart raced even more.
The third tombstone bore the name of a man who appeared to be in his fifties, his face displaying an indescribable severity.
