Going back would be perilous! The only thought that crossed her mind was to hide inside the Morgue.
She was startled by her sudden idea, but now it seemed there was really no other way...
Her heart filled with increasing fear, yet her feet moved almost involuntarily towards the Morgue.
Inside the morgue, even though Xia Xiaoyu was not an Exorcist, she could feel the heavy aura of death...
As she stepped into the cold storage room, she saw neatly arranged corpses on either side, their faces hidden. They were all covered with sheets used by the Hospital to conceal the bodies.
A quick glance revealed that there were at least twenty bodies inside...
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you..." Xia Xiaoyu murmured softly, her eyes darting around nervously.
She was already terrified beyond measure. Just thinking about encountering something horrifying alone in the Hospital at midnight and then coming to the scariest place in the Hospital made her realize that if this had happened to her before, she would have fainted on the spot. But now, despite her fear, she managed to hold onto a thread of rationality.
Meow...
Suddenly, a cat's meow echoed through the morgue. The sound was so unexpected, especially at midnight, that Xia Xiaoyu felt a chill run down her spine.
Just as she thought it might be a ghostly presence, a large black cat emerged from beneath the innermost bed frame...
