A new day had begun...
When Xia Xiaoyu opened her eyes, she was immediately hit by a wave of soreness that surged throughout her body.
The sun was already bright, and Xia Xiaoyu felt as if her entire arm had gone numb. After lying still for so long, as soon as she stood up, sharp pains shot through her.
How could she have suddenly fallen asleep when everything was fine yesterday?
Damn it...
Xia Xiaoyu turned her head and saw Zifeng lazily looking at her, his expression relaxed and carefree.
"Did you sleep well?" he asked, flashing a smile that revealed his white teeth.
"Yeah, here you go!"
Xia Xiaoyu picked up the clothes that had fallen to the ground when she stood up and handed them back to Zifeng.
She hadn't noticed before, but this indifferent guy actually had a bit of conscience; he was worried she might catch a cold and had covered her with his clothes while she slept.
"Let's go!"
Zifeng took the clothes and stood up, saying this.
"Where to?"
"Pingnan University!"
The sunlight was not overly bright, and the bustling crowd made it lively. After leaving the forest, Zifeng and Xia Xiaoyu took a taxi directly to Pingnan University.
Their goal was simple: they wanted to investigate the details surrounding the girl's death, including the cause. However, no one knew if they would be able to find out anything.
Zifeng remained silent, his expression filled with coldness, and that indifferent look seemed to suggest that nothing could weigh him down.
At the entrance of Pingnan University, after getting out of the car, Zifeng did not immediately go inside. Instead, he leaned lazily against a maple tree outside, watching the occasional students who came out.
"Should we just go in?"
Xia Xiaoyu was familiar with the university in this city and knew it was easy to enter University.
"No need. Once we go in, we won't know anyone. The place where that girl died has been cleaned up, so we definitely won't find anything. We're just here to gather some information; the rest doesn't matter. We can just ask a student or two..."
"Isn't there a better way?" Xia Xiaoyu replied somewhat speechlessly.
"Do you have a better idea?" Zifeng countered.
With no other choice, Xia Xiaoyu could only ask students. However, there were very few students coming out. After a while of questioning a few who did come out, she still couldn't get any substantial information.
They all knew that the girl's death was somewhat strange, but none had witnessed it firsthand. Clearly, this incident had caused quite a stir at University, otherwise everyone wouldn't be aware of it.
However, they only had a rough understanding of the situation without any detailed knowledge.
The deceased was named Xu Ke. What surprised Xia Xiaoyu was that Xu Ke was a sophomore. Other than that, there was nothing else.
Feeling somewhat hopeless, Xia Xiaoyu suddenly noticed another student coming out from the entrance of University.
Dressed very fashionably, with delicate features and a tall figure, she was beautiful; however, her eyes seemed to carry an indescribable arrogance towards anyone she looked at.
"Excuse me, are you a student here?"
Xia Xiaoyu politely asked. Given the girl's attire, she might be the girlfriend of some young teacher or perhaps even a teacher herself. It would be foolish to ask a teacher about the reason behind the death of a student; otherwise, she might end up being sent directly to the police station.
"Who are you?" Seductive Girl stopped in her tracks and turned to look at Xia Xiaoyu. Even standing still, her eyes still held an unmistakable air of superiority. It seemed that in this girl's eyes, there was no one or nothing worthy of being on par with her.
"I am a friend of Xu Ke. I want to learn more about her."
Xia Xiaoyu spoke frankly and directly.
"Are you a friend of Xu Ke?" Upon hearing this, the Seductive Woman raised her eyebrows slightly, but then began to scrutinize Xia Xiaoyu closely.
"Yes..." Seeing the flicker of surprise in the Seductive Woman's eyes, Xia Xiaoyu realized that this woman must know Xu Ke, or at least understand something about him.
"I don't know any Xu Ke; you've got the wrong person."
After collecting herself, the Seductive Woman suddenly spoke to Xia Xiaoyu in a detached tone. After saying that, she didn't look at Xia Xiaoyu again and turned to walk away.
"I can't believe you don't know. Is it possible that you know nothing about her?" Xia Xiaoyu knew that this woman must be very clear about Xu Ke, so she rushed forward and stood in front of her.
"I know, but I don't want to talk about it..."
The Seductive Woman said this with a hint of annoyance, clearly stating her unwillingness.
"You..."
Xia Xiaoyu felt a bit frustrated.
