They returned to the dormitory in silence, with no one speaking, as if their minds were still occupied with thoughts of that lively girl and the frail girl lying on the bed.
That feeling was hollow and indescribable, leaving them devoid of any extra enthusiasm.
"Let's eat something!"
Liu Feifei also felt a bit awkward; she was not feeling well either. After all, they were good friends from high school, and the contrast was hard to articulate.
To ease the atmosphere in the dormitory, she had to change the subject and redirect everyone's thoughts.
"I'm not hungry!"
Chen Mumu shook her head. Even though she had only eaten a little for breakfast today, faced with such events, they had no appetite at all.
"I know everyone is upset; I feel the same way. Who would feel good about this? But the fact has already happened, and we can't go against reality. We can't change anything," Liu Feifei had to say something to encourage everyone to pick themselves up.
Everyone remained silent; no one spoke or responded, as if they were indifferent to Liu Feifei's words or perhaps silently acknowledged them.

After a long silence, Xia Xiaoyu finally forced a smile and said.
As night fell again, the outside world grew increasingly dim. Everyone went to bed early today. There was no computer gaming, no phone usage; everyone simply lay in their own beds, their minds flooded with scenes that made them feel melancholic.
Surin returned to the dormitory after nine o'clock. Even though Xia Xiaoyu felt a mix of curiosity and suspicion towards her arrival, she didn’t pay much attention today, nor did she scrutinize her.
Her quirks seemed innate, and her cold demeanor appeared to be inherent as well.
It was as if she harbored too many secrets within herself, making it impossible for Xia Xiaoyu to see what kind of person she truly was.
There had been too many events happening over the past few days that left Xia Xiaoyu feeling overwhelmed. Whether it was the series of strange occurrences or Lin Xi's death, it all felt like a blow to her.
The sky outside the window was murky, as if painted over by a black canvas that shrouded the entire world, or perhaps like a pair of hands covering her eyes.
The night sky was dotted with stars, flickering in and out, embellishing the quiet and lonely night. Xia Xiaoyu's thoughts drifted away; everything that had happened recently left her feeling dazed.
The main issue was still Xiao Xi's sudden death, which Xia Xiaoyu found hard to accept and left her feeling puzzled.
Why would a perfectly healthy person die without warning in just a few days?
Xia Xiaoyu remembered that during the health check-up, Lin Xi's condition was excellent. Although she was on the thinner side, she was very particular about the nutrition her body needed!
But why did she suddenly die?
After an unknown amount of time lost in thought, Xia Xiaoyu finally pulled her gaze back and happened to catch sight of that bed in the dim dormitory.
That was the bed where Lin Xi used to sleep. She was rather lazy, so the blanket was not folded and was just carelessly placed on the bed.
Xia Xiaoyu, feeling flustered, shifted her gaze elsewhere. It wasn't that she was scared; it was just that whenever she saw that bed, she couldn't help but think of the lively little sprite in her mind.
She still couldn't accept the reality that Lin Xi had suddenly passed away.
The dormitory was unusually quiet, without a single sound. Although she couldn't see everyone's expressions, Xia Xiaoyu could imagine that everyone was feeling very sad.
A sense of sorrow pervaded the entire dark dormitory.
As she lost herself in thought, she didn't know how much time had passed until Xia Xiaoyu felt her mind drifting, and the shadow in her mind became intermittent.
Was this a sign of impending slumber?
The night was merely a monotonous wash of color, painting the entire world. In the dormitory, only the Quartz Clock hanging on the dark wall continued to tick away with a rhythmic sound!
It was like a lullaby, lulling everyone in All Dormitory into a drowsy state!
