A sudden ringing and vibration pulled Xia Xiaoyu back to reality. She opened her phone to see that the caller ID displayed Xiao Qian.
Why is he calling so late?
Xia Xiaoyu felt a bit curious but answered the call anyway.
"Hello, Xiao Qian?" Xia Xiaoyu asked.
"Where are you right now?" A mature and steady voice came from the other end; it was definitely Xiao Qian.
"Jingming Park. Is there a problem?"
"Yes, I know. I'm waiting for you at your university's entrance. Hurry back!"
"But?"
Xia Xiaoyu was still looking for Lin Xi, and going back now would mean leaving her behind.
"Don't linger there; otherwise, you'll be in big trouble."
Xiao Qian's voice sounded urgent as he continued speaking.
"Alright, I'll head over right away."
Xia Xiaoyu understood the seriousness of the situation, and since Xu Qian was a rather sensible person, he wouldn't joke about something like this.
After hanging up the phone, Xia Xiaoyu did not linger in that place; she had a vague feeling that something was seriously wrong.
This incident was not about encountering strange or terrifying things, but it was even more frightening than horror itself.
With a heart full of questions, on one hand, she was worried about Lin Xi's well-being, as she was quite timid. If they didn't find her soon, she might be scared out of her wits.
On the other hand, there was Xu Qian. She called herself in such a hurry, likely because he knew that if she stayed in that place any longer, something big would happen.
From a brisk walk to a light run, Xia Xiaoyu almost dashed straight to the entrance of the University. Fortunately, it wasn't far; after about ten minutes, she arrived at the university gate.

A black sedan honked twice. Across the intersection, despite the distance, Xia Xiaoyu could still see Xu Qian in the driver's seat thanks to the streetlights.
"Xia Xiaoyu, over here!"
The window rolled down as Xu Qian waved her over.

"Get in quickly!"

Xia Xiaoyu opened the car door and climbed into the passenger seat.
"What happened?"
She fastened her seatbelt while asking in confusion.
"I should be asking you that!"
"What do you mean?"
"Weren't you told during the day? Not to go out?"
"I can't help it; my friend is missing right now!"
"A Feng is right; you're so light-hearted that you could float away, yet you always love to meddle!"
"Who is A Feng?"
"Just my friend!"
"I'm so famous that even your friend knows me!"
"Stop showing off; you're in trouble now!"
"Hey, where are you driving to?" Xia Xiaoyu suddenly paused as Xu Qian slowly started the car and began to reverse in the opposite direction.
"What do you think? Are you planning to stay here and have a cozy gathering with that thing?"
Xu Qian kept talking while her actions didn't stop.
"No, I have another friend who is also in danger; I need to go save her!"
Xia Xiaoyu said anxiously.
"Now, you should consider yourself. Do you know what trouble might arise if you continue to stay here?"
"I don't know!"
"Well..."
Xu Qian had nothing to say.
"But you can't be so selfish. She's still waiting for me. Hey, don't leave yet, let me finish. If it were me, would you just turn around and leave in this situation?" Xia Xiaoyu asked as she saw Xu Qian turning to walk away.
"You think I wouldn't care about you? That's why I'm here!"
"I know you wouldn't ignore me, but if you're in trouble, I won't either. However, my friend is in trouble right now; she needs my help. I can't be this selfish, do you understand what I mean?"
Xia Xiaoyu felt anxious inside but explained calmly.
Xu Qian was a man with a sense of justice, and as a psychologist, he should understand Xia Xiaoyu's feelings better than anyone else.
"This isn't a simple matter. It's very possible that your friend isn't in the same space we are! Are you really planning to go?"
Sure enough, Xia Xiaoyu's words ignited a sense of justice within Xu Qian. He suddenly slammed on the brakes and turned around to say seriously.
