Time passed quickly. After leaving Xu Qian's place, Xia Xiaoyu first took a taxi to wander around outside the school and had a meal before returning to campus.
The youthful atmosphere was palpable; in such a pleasant place as the school, one could always feel a clear sense of vitality.
Especially now, during the flourishing season of the Cherry Blossoms, the Cherry Blossom trees in every corner of the school were showcasing their warm and harmonious beauty.
Occasionally, one could see couples in love, hand in hand, walking along the paths.
Xia Xiaoyu tried hard not to think about what happened last night.
By the time she returned to the dormitory, it was already past six in the evening. Although it was still bright outside, there were hardly any people in the Old Dormitory where they lived, making it feel rather desolate.
Everyone else had gone out, leaving Xia Xiaoyu alone in the dormitory. She boredly took out her phone and started scrolling through it.
She was a girl who didn't like playing on the computer; she found the radiation from computers too much. For someone like Xia Xiaoyu, she hardly needed a computer except for studying. Occasionally watching movies or listening to music was enough for her; she never had much interest in playing games.
Lying back on her bed and fiddling with her phone, she passed the time in boredom.
As time went by, the sky outside gradually darkened. This signaled that a new night was about to arrive!
The first to return to the dormitory was Tang Jiaying, who was dressed quite fashionably. Her hair was fluffy, her eyebrows neatly trimmed, and her careful grooming seemed to enhance her charm significantly.
"Xia Xiaoyu is back!"
Tang Jiaying is the kind of petite and approachable girl. With her charming personality, she quickly bonded with the others in the dormitory within just one night.
"Hey, where have you been?"
Xia Xiaoyu sat up on the bed frame and casually remarked.
"I went out to buy some things. Xia Xiaoyu, what do you think of my outfit?"
Tang Jiaying was wearing a light yellow top that left her shoulders bare, held up by just two straps. The color and the newness of the garment clearly indicated it was a recent purchase.
Girls naturally love to dress up and are very particular about their appearance.
Xia Xiaoyu smiled slightly and nodded, saying, "Not bad, it really suits you!"
Although it did look good, Xia Xiaoyu would never wear something like that. It wasn't because of the revealing nature, but rather because such loose clothing made her imagine the awkward situation if one of the straps suddenly broke while she was out.
"Hehe, it was just a bit too expensive!"
Tang Jiaying was pleased with Xia Xiaoyu's response and giggled.
Xia Xiaoyu didn't say much more, simply responding with a smile.
However, before the smile could fully spread, Tang Jiaying's next words brought the temperature in the room to a freezing point.
"By the way, Xia Xiaoyu, who was that woman who left the dormitory? She seemed so cold!"
As Tang Jiaying took out her bag and calculated how much she had spent today, she suddenly looked up and smiled at Xia Xiaoyu.
"What did you say?"
Xia Xiaoyu paused for a moment, then looked at Tang Jiaying in surprise.
"I mean the woman who left the dormitory. I saw her under the Dormitory Building. She came out of the dormitory, and I even bumped into her at the Staircase Entrance. She had her head down and seemed really cold; it felt so strange! I wanted to ask about it but didn't say anything." Now it was Tang Jiaying's turn to be surprised, her gaze wide with astonishment as she looked at Xia Xiaoyu.
