"Alright, enough with the paranoia. Let's hurry up and clean this place, then we can go buy something to eat! I haven't eaten all evening and I'm about to starve!" Xia Xiaoyu said to Lin Xi without thinking much.
"Okay!"
Gripping the broom tightly, Lin Xi didn't dwell on it any longer and got busy.
Creak, creak...
A strange sound suddenly emerged while Lin Xi and Xia Xiaoyu were cleaning.
In the empty dormitory, under the quiet atmosphere, even the slightest movement could be immediately noticed.
Both Lin Xi and Xia Xiaoyu turned their gazes toward the dormitory door!
It was clearly the sound of the door being slowly pushed open, causing friction at the gap!
As time flew by while they were cleaning, the sky gradually darkened, and the strange sounds continued to persist.
Lin Xi and Xia Xiaoyu exchanged glances, both feeling a slight chill in their hearts!
Lin Xi couldn't help but think of that vague shadow from earlier.
"Who's out there?"
Xia Xiaoyu asked tentatively, her voice not loud; it was both a question and a way to encourage herself!
However, there was no response from outside! The door gently shook for a moment before coming to a stop.
A strange creaking sound suddenly stopped, and the entire dormitory fell into silence.
"I'll go take a look!"
Glancing outside, the sky was still bright, which always gave a sense of security.
After saying that, Xia Xiaoyu slowly walked to the dormitory door. After pondering for a moment, she suddenly flung the door open!
Outside was empty; there was nothing at all. Xia Xiaoyu looked around, but saw nothing—just the long, desolate corridor.
If the door opening was caused by the wind, neither Xia Xiaoyu nor Lin Xi would believe it. This dormitory hadn't been opened in a long time; the metal had rusted and become sluggish, not so nimble!
Unless there was a strong wind. But at that moment, neither Lin Xi nor Xia Xiaoyu felt any wind!
Unless? Someone had been pushing the door from outside?
But in such a short time, when Xia Xiaoyu opened the door, even if someone had run away, they should have made some noise in their haste. If they were walking slowly, then when Xia Xiaoyu stepped out, she would definitely see them!
But there was no one!
A thin layer of sweat broke out on Xia Xiaoyu's palms, and her heart began to race. Just as she was about to move, someone suddenly burst out from the door of Room 513 next to her dormitory!
They shouted loudly, startling Xia Xiaoyu so much that she jumped.
"Haha, Xia Xiaoyu, did I scare you?"
Seeing Xia Xiaoyu's pale face from fright, the person let out a triumphant laugh.
She was a little girl, about one meter sixty tall, with delicate features. Her eyes resembled clear lake water, shimmering and radiating a captivating glow. She looked a bit quirky, but it was evident that she belonged to the cheerful and playful type of sprite!
"Feifei, is that you? What are you doing here?"
Once she realized who had startled her, a black line appeared on Xia Xiaoyu's forehead.
This surprised Xia Xiaoyu because Liu Feifei was also a classmate in her senior year of high school. Her quirky personality often led her to play pranks on others!
"Feifei, you're here too?"
Lin Xi, who had just come out of the dormitory, looked at the lively and adorable sprite girl with a face full of surprise. She hadn't changed much; she still loved to joke around!
"You two are really timid, hehe!" Liu Feifei clapped her hands and revealed a mysterious smile.
"You still haven't said how you ended up here," Xia Xiaoyu continued to ask.
"I came to the dormitory to talk to you!"
Tilting her chin, Liu Feifei was the first to walk into Dorm 514.
Xia Xiaoyu and Lin Xi exchanged bewildered glances before following her inside.
