"Shen Mingyue, do not test my patience."
"Tell me, what is your purpose for coming back?"
I looked at him and suddenly started coughing, blood pouring from my mouth.
Liang Ze's expression changed, and he immediately carried me towards the private room.
He called for a doctor to bandage me, his face dark and silent.
He stood up, looking down at me: "Since you are unwilling to speak, I will give you a chance for redemption."
"One of these three is an undercover agent."
"If you help me identify him, I will believe that you truly want me."
As soon as he finished speaking, the three men were pushed in.
Each had one hand severed, kneeling on the ground, crying and begging for mercy.
Among them, a familiar face came into view.
It was my comrade—Guo Zhiguang.
He deliberately provoked Liang Ze with words: "Ze Ge, don't believe this woman; she caused the death of your brother. You must not let her go!"
I watched everything coldly, my tone indifferent: "If they are unwilling to speak, then kill them all."
Liang Ze narrowed his eyes as he scrutinized me: "But they are your people."
I smiled slightly: "From the day I left, they have nothing to do with me."
Liang Ze stared at me and suddenly laughed: "As expected of you."
"Since that's the case, I will fulfill your wish."
He pulled out a handgun, removed the magazine, and in front of me unloaded all 15 bullets.
Only four remained.
"Life and death are determined by fate."
I closed my eyes, quietly awaiting the judgment of destiny.
The sound of the gun being loaded reached my ears, followed by the barrel pressing against my temple.
Liang Ze leaned close to my ear, his voice cold: “Shen Mingyue, you mustn't blame me.”
“It was you who betrayed me first.”
I smiled faintly: “We are just serving our own masters.”
“You being here is also a form of betrayal.”
Liang Ze's gaze was icy as he slowly pulled the trigger.
Bang!
A gunshot rang out, blood splattered everywhere.
Not a single one of Liang Ze's subordinates was not trembling in fear.
He scanned the room with a cold eye, finally resting his gaze on me: “You’re lucky.”
I chuckled: “Your marksmanship has always been excellent.”
Liang Ze used an M9, with 15 rounds loaded.
He intentionally left 4 rounds in the chamber, but in reality, all 15 were loaded.
What he didn’t know was that the M9 in his hand had been modified to hold 19 rounds.
I was betting that he wouldn’t use a gun loaded with only 15 rounds.
Clearly, I won the bet.
Liang Ze took me to his villa.
His private doctor spent half a month bringing me back from the brink of death.
When I woke up, Liang Ze was staring blankly at the scar on my shoulder.
“Whose gun is this?”
My pupils constricted as I feigned ignorance: “What gun?”
Liang Ze's eyes narrowed: “You're still lying to me.”
“Shen Mingyue, it’s fine if you don’t want to tell me; after all, I never planned to let you go.”
Desperately, I grabbed his shirt: “Liang Ze, I’m really not lying to you; I was framed by Guo Zhiguang.”
"If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have been injured, and I definitely wouldn't have been expelled."
"This is all his fault!"
Liang Ze's expression darkened. "Shen Mingyue, do you still want to argue at this point?"
"The gunshot wound on your shoulder is the best evidence."
"A year ago, when you suddenly went missing, he was the one who helped me break through and saved my life and my brothers' lives."
"But you say he's an undercover agent?"
"Shen Mingyue, when did you become so ungrateful?"
"Do you really want me dead?"
I shook my head, tears streaming down my face. "It's not me, it's really not me."
"It was Guo Zhiguang and Liu Yang; they leaked information to the police. They are the real undercover agents!"
