At first, Jiang Yehan was quite scared. But gradually, he began to feel excited. We acted like two madmen, shouting, singing, drinking, and dancing on the streets. I don't know when it happened, but our hands ended up intertwined. I turned to look at him, and he turned to look at me. We exchanged a smile.
In the following days, we behaved like a couple in love—whispering sweet nothings in our hotel room, strolling hand in hand through foreign streets, and sharing dinners in restaurants. We both knew very well that we were not in love; we were merely in a marriage of convenience. Yet, we still couldn't help but fall for each other.
We spent an entire day playing on the streets of Los Angeles. I decided to take Jiang Yehan shopping for clothes. I stopped the car and said, "Get out."
Jiang Yehan looked puzzled and asked, "What for?"
I raised the black card in my hand and replied, "To buy you some clothes."
Jiang Yehan frowned, "You want to buy me clothes with my money?"
I rolled my eyes and said, "If you give it to me, then it's my money, right? What's the problem?"
In the end, he let me pull him inside the store.
"This one looks good," I said, pointing at the outfit on the model. "Don't you think it looks particularly stylish?"
Jiang Yehan pressed his lips together and said, "That's your generation's taste; it's not suitable for someone my age."
I laughed and replied, "You're right; it really isn't suitable for you."
Jiang Yehan shot me a glare.
I walked over and wrapped my arms around his neck. "But you have to make it work."
Jiang Yehan looked speechless, "Why should I?"
I raised an eyebrow, "Because you are my husband."
Jiang Yehan fell silent for a few seconds, the corners of his mouth slightly curling up, "Alright then."
So I took him to buy some trendy American streetwear.
After he put it on, he looked really cool.
Jiang Yehan checked himself in the mirror, "Does this... suit me?"
"It suits you."
I nodded confidently, "Everyone dresses like this on the street now."
Jiang Yehan sighed, "Okay."
After we finished shopping for clothes, I took him to a large amusement park.
I pointed to the horizon, "Look at the Twilight, isn't it beautiful?"
Jiang Yehan nodded, "Beautiful."
"When I missed home before, I would come here."
I lowered my head and then smiled, "Now I'm finally back home."
Jiang Yehan looked at me, his eyes flickering slightly as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders, letting me lean against him.
"From now on, let me be with you."
I was momentarily stunned but bitterly smiled inside,
"We're just in a marriage of convenience; eventually, you'll have other women."
Suddenly, I lifted my head, "I'll get you an iced cola; it used to be my favorite drink."
Without waiting for his response, I ran off.
I bought a cup of iced cola and handed it to him, "Here, drink this."
Jiang Yehan took the iced cola and started drinking.
I pointed to the roller coaster not far away, "Come on, let's ride the Sunset Roller Coaster."
Jiang Yehan hesitated for a moment, "Are you sure you want to do that?"
I smiled and replied, "Of course, let's go."
Sunset Roller Coaster, as the name suggests, is all about gliding along the tracks, thrilling and exciting.
Jiang Yehan and I sat in the front row.
His face turned a bit pale,
I asked him with a smile, "Are you scared?"
Jiang Yehan cleared his throat, "I'm not scared."
"That's good to hear."
The machine started up and slowly climbed upwards.
Suddenly, Jiang Yehan tightly grasped my hand and closed his eyes.
I laughed and then held onto his cold hand tightly,
"What are you afraid of? It's not your first time."
Jiang Yehan remained silent, just holding onto my hand without letting go.
I raised an eyebrow, "You really have no courage, do you?"
