The old man pushed open the back door, and the scene in front of the boy stunned him. There was a square-shaped pond with various green plants on top, surrounded by several large trees, which stood in stark contrast to the surrounding desolate desert. "Sir, how could this be..." the boy exclaimed in surprise. "This is the last oasis on Earth, son. Believe me, I was a geologist in my younger days. God knows how long I searched for this place," the old man replied. "Wait a minute, sir, did you say this is Earth? Hasn't Earth already been destroyed?" 0

"Child, those are the politicians' words, said to make people forget about what's really happening here." 0
"But, there are definitely no people living on Earth anymore!" 0
The old man sighed when he heard this. "Yes, but this place used to be really beautiful," he said, picking up the newspaper he had just been reading and handing it to the boy. "Take a look at this, child." 0

"I know, the terrible virus of 2020." 0
"No, I'm not asking you about that. Look at what I've written here." 0
The boy took the old man's densely written notebook, the characters on it were crooked and difficult to discern, but he could still make out phrases like "most beautiful angel," "Shaanxi medical staff support Wuhan," and so on. "Have you seen these news on Mars? These news are all real." 0

"No, but how did you know I come from the fire?" 0
"Back then, when I was your age, humans were still living well on Earth, until that epidemic accelerated environmental degradation. Soon after, some national leaders proposed plans to abandon Earth, and wealthy people bought tickets to Mars. That's when people started to change..." 0
"So what happened to Earth in the end?" 0

"It's very complicated, child. There are many factors. In my opinion, the main one is human greed." 0
"What is greed, sir?" 0
"Haha, it's like the way you just asked me for a second glass of milk. That's greed." 0

"But I really want to have another drink." 0
"Yeah, but have you ever thought about what others will do if you finish it all? Milk is not unlimited, just like how people used to think the resources on Earth were unlimited. They thought everything on Earth was endless until the day they found that no more water could flow through the pipes, no more oil could be pumped from underground, and no more coal could be mined. Then they heartlessly abandoned it." 0
"But everyone is like that. When I'm at Mars, everything is used and then thrown away. If I want to eat something, I just order it online. My parents are both national senior engineers working for the National Security Bureau. We live in Community No. 1, you know? Only the leaders can..." The boy became more and more excited as he spoke. 0

"What's your name?" The old man interrupted the boy, suddenly asking. 0
"0307," the boy hesitated. 0
"What's your full name?" 0

"What is your full name? I have only had this one name since I was born, and today, March 7th, is my birthday." 0
"Oh my, that's so sad. How many 0307s are there?" 0
"I'm not sure, but there are many," the boy's voice weakened. 0

"Child, I have my own name, I'm called Liu Baoqing, I even have a nickname, but it's what the adults at home used to call me when I was little, and I haven't heard it in decades." 0
"Earthlings actually have so many names. On Mars, everyone has a code, but only the wealthy are eligible to be assigned a code. So, I don't mind, after all, everyone is like this," the boy said indifferently, and once again turned his gaze to the cow, Molly. 0
