Fifteen years have passed, and I have finally returned. My father, who had been out of contact for ten years, suddenly brought me back to the country, saying he had arranged a marriage for me and wanted me to come back to get engaged. Coincidentally, it was also my sister's wedding, and I heard she was about to marry into a wealthy family.
"Zi Xuan, welcome home!" As soon as I stepped out of the airport, a warm hug came rushing toward me.
"Mengqi, you’re still as lively as ever." I smiled and patted her back; after fifteen years, she was still full of energy.
"You have no idea how long I've waited for you. Come on, let’s go eat something delicious and celebrate your return." Chen Mengqi unceremoniously grabbed my suitcase and headed outside.
I was helplessly dragged along by her, but my attention was caught by a tall figure not far away. The man wore a well-tailored black suit and exuded an icy aura that seemed to warn others to keep their distance. His handsome face bore no expression, his thin lips pressed tightly together as if everything around him was irrelevant.
"Hey, what are you looking at?" Chen Mengqi followed my gaze and teased with a hint of flirtation. "What? You just got back and already have your eyes on a handsome guy? Good taste; that’s Jiang Yehan, the president of Jiang Group, famously known as a golden bachelor."
I withdrew my gaze and scoffed dismissively. "Pfft, what's so great about him? He looks like a Zombie Face, as if someone owes him money."
"Hey, you girl! That’s called being aloof; he’s a stoic male god. Do you even know how to appreciate?" Chen Mengqi looked at me as if I were hopeless.
I ignored her and continued dragging my suitcase forward. But just then, fate had it that I crossed paths with that "Zombie Face," Jiang Yehan.
"Excuse me," I said coldly. This guy didn’t even bother to step aside; why was he blocking the way?
Jiang Yehan didn’t move an inch. "You..." I was about to lose my temper when he walked right past me as if he hadn’t seen me.
"Hey, what’s your attitude?" I couldn’t help but shout at his retreating figure.
He paused for a moment but didn’t turn around; he simply coldly tossed back a remark: "Crazy."
I was furious; this man was too arrogant! "Stop right there!" I rushed up and grabbed his arm. "You better clarify your words—who's crazy?"
He finally turned around, his deep-set eyes like an unfathomable cold pool, chilling to the bone. "Let go."
"I won’t let go unless you apologize!" I held my ground defiantly, glaring at him.
"Are you sure you want to cause a scene here?" He raised an eyebrow, his tone laced with a hint of danger.
"I..." I felt somewhat guilty under his gaze but still held on. "Who’s causing a scene? Clearly, you started it..."
Before I could finish my sentence, I was interrupted by an unexpected ringtone from my phone.
Jiang Yehan impatiently pulled out his phone, glanced at the caller ID, and his expression instantly darkened.
"Hey? What? Say that again!" He shouted into the phone, his tone filled with shock and anger.
I was startled by his sudden change in emotion. Before I could react, he pushed me aside and strode toward the airport exit.
"Hey, you..." I stumbled from the push, nearly falling over.
"Zi Xuan, are you okay?" Chen Mengqi quickly supported me, asking with concern.
I shook my head, watching Jiang Yehan's hurried figure disappear, a sense of foreboding rising in my heart. Could it be... something has happened?
