The night breeze was cool, dispersing the heat on Li Wan's cheeks.
Li Wan: "……"
Li Wan turned to look out the window, the pitch-black night reflecting in her pupils.
Li Wan: "……"
As she watched the scenery outside rush by, an inexplicable sadness welled up inside her.
Li Wan: "Gaoyuan."
Gaoyuan: "Hmm?"
Li Wan: "Why are you so good to me?"
Gaoyuan: "……"
Gaoyuan's fingers on the steering wheel stiffened slightly.
Gaoyuan: "What do you think?"
Li Wan: "……"
After a moment of silence, she softly said, "Is it because I’m your sister?"
Gaoyuan: "……"
Gaoyuan squinted slightly, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes.

The car stopped downstairs at Li Wan's home.

After parking the car, Gaoyuan turned to look at Li Wan.

Li Wan remained silent as she pushed open the car door and got out.
Gaoyuan watched her retreating figure, narrowing his eyes. "Li Wan."
She paused, turning her back to him. "Is there something else?"
After a moment of silence, Gaoyuan quietly replied, "Nothing."
Without lingering any longer, Li Wan headed straight upstairs.

Once in her room, Li Wan lay down on the large bed, feeling utterly exhausted. She stared at the chandelier on the ceiling, her heart filled with mixed emotions.
She turned over and pulled out a photograph from the drawer by her bedside. The picture showed a girl around six or seven years old alongside a boy who looked about fifteen or sixteen.
Gently, she reached out and caressed the boy's image in the photo. "Brother Yuan..."
Her eyes reddened slightly as she pressed the photograph to her chest and closed her eyes. "I miss you so much."
Gradually, she drifted into a dream.
In her dream, she was transported back to her childhood.
In the dream, Brother Yuan took her to the fields to catch rabbits. He helped her with her homework and told her bedtime stories. Then, in the dream, Brother Yuan left her.
