Staying up late to watch short videos resulted in me waking up with dark circles under my eyes that resembled those of a protected animal, feeling utterly exhausted.
"What on earth did you do last night?"
Xu Luoluo exclaimed as she looked at my Sadako-like appearance.
"Nothing much."
Eventually, I relayed the whole story to Xu Luoluo during her relentless questioning as we made our way to the classroom.
Early classes are always the most painful experience for female college students, and this particular early class was for Advanced Mathematics, making the level of suffering unbearable.
To secure the best seats, we would wake up ten minutes early for every early class, sometimes even skipping breakfast. However, today, both of us still arrived late.
Glancing at the few remaining seats in the back rows, Xu Luoluo and I finally found a spot in the second-to-last row.
Fortunately, it was a large class with enough students; as long as they were discreet enough, those panda eyes wouldn’t be noticed!
Not long after sitting down, I began to catch up on sleep.
After a while, Xu Luoluo gently nudged me awake. I opened my eyes groggily and looked at her in confusion.
I casually remarked, "Why are you calling me?"
Then, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted my crush Yan Zexu sitting a few rows behind me.
Startled awake from my daze, I quickly straightened up and discreetly glanced over at Xu Luoluo.
I raised my eyebrows and sent a signal. "He's here. Why didn't you say earlier that he's sitting behind me?"
Xu Luoluo responded with a wink. "I just noticed too."
"Alright then."
Our actions were too obvious, and Yan Zexu noticed our little exchange.
"Oh, it's you, Xiao Fang."
As soon as he said this, I was about to greet him when I heard a chuckle coming from right behind me.
"Huh?"
Who is so bold?
Wow, is that a handsome guy?
When did the male god have such a stunning companion? How did I not know about this?
I looked at Yan Zexu in confusion, and he seemed to understand my question. He explained, "He's my roommate. We came together for Advanced Mathematics Class."
Then he continued with a question. "Hey, how come I didn't see you before, Xiao Fang? Are you in the same Advanced Mathematics Class as our teacher?"
I awkwardly nodded, "Yeah, I guess I've always been sitting at the back, so you didn't see me."
"I see!"
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, I turned my head back and continued to pretend to listen attentively in class.
Unfortunately, without my glasses, I couldn't see what was displayed on the screen from such a distance.
The pretense felt somewhat false, and just as I was about to run out of steam, the class ended.
During the break after class, Xu Luoluo began to subtly probe me.
"Have you played The Valley of the honor, Yan Zexu?" Xu Luoluo asked casually.
Yan Zexu replied, "I played it for a while; it was pretty good."
I joined in on the conversation. "So what position do you usually play? We should play together sometime."
"I mainly play as a mage and support, so I might clash with you girls for positions," Yan Zexu said, politely declining my invitation with a hint of embarrassment.
Come on, yesterday I was calling you 'brother' and now this? It feels a bit off.
"And right now, my account is being played by my roommate. I'm busy with club activities and studying for the Level 6 vocabulary; I don't have time to play."
It's fine, it's fine. I'll wait until you have time.
Wait a minute, your account is being played by your roommate?
So?
Who was the person I called brother yesterday?
Not only was I stunned, but Xu Luoluo also took a moment to react before asking Yan Zexu.
"Who has been playing your account lately?"
"This person next to me, Lu Changyan."
With Yan Zexu's polite wave, I saw the smiling face of Lu Changyan beside him.
That sound was the shattering of my fragile heart.
Back in the dormitory, I pulled Xu Luoluo aside and gave her a thorough scolding.
For this piece of news, I had promised to bring her lunch for a week.
"You glaring at me doesn't help. How about I help you dig up some new information?"
"No! Need! Not!"
"If you don't want it, then fine. No need to shout."
I really couldn't do anything to her, but she willingly accepted the punishment and ended up bringing me lunch for a week.
