"Mr. Shen, Su Mengman has come out," Little Ma said as he walked up to Shen Xingyu.
"Let's go," Shen Xingyu replied, putting his hands in his pockets and heading toward the club's entrance.
Su Mengman had just lost a lot of money and was in a very bad mood. As she stepped out of the club, she wanted to go home, but Little Ma blocked her path.
"Ms. Su, Mr. Shen would like to invite you for a cup of coffee."
"Mr. Shen?" Upon hearing Shen Xingyu's name, Su Mengman became very flustered. "I’m not going."
"That’s not up to you," Little Ma said, glancing at the bodyguards behind him. Two bodyguards stepped forward and escorted Su Mengman to the car.
"Let go of me!" Su Mengman shouted. "This is kidnapping! I'm calling the police."
"Go ahead," Little Ma said nonchalantly. "Ms. Su, if you want the police to know what you've been up to, feel free to call them."
"What do you mean by that?" Su Mengman felt very embarrassed. "I don’t know what you’re talking about."
"It doesn’t matter if you don’t know," Little Ma replied as he got into the car and glanced at Su Mengman. "Mr. Shen will tell you what you've done."
Hearing this, Su Mengman fell silent; she stopped struggling and making noise.
The car soon arrived at the back door of the club, where Shen Xingyu was already waiting for Su Mengman.
As she was brought inside by the bodyguards, Su Mengman felt guilty upon seeing Shen Xingyu and couldn’t bring herself to meet his gaze.
"Mr. Shen, I wonder what you wanted to discuss with me?" Su Mengman asked with a forced smile.
"Sit," Shen Xingyu said, gesturing with his chin toward the chair across from him.
Feeling somewhat uneasy, Su Mengman sat down and placed her hands on her knees. "Mr. Shen, I heard that you were previously married to our Jingzhu?"
"Yes," Shen Xingyu nodded. "I was married to Jingzhu for three years."
"Oh." Su Mengman hadn’t expected Shen Xingyu to admit it; she paused for a few seconds before smiling and saying, "It seems you and our Jingzhu were quite fated."
"Indeed, very fated," Shen Xingyu sneered. "Ms. Su, do you know that Jingzhu called me right before she died?"
"What?" Su Mengman was taken aback. "You mean Jingzhu called you?"
"Yes," Shen Xingyu confirmed with a nod.
"What did she say to you?" Su Mengman became very nervous.
"She said she was going to die soon," Shen Xingyu stared at Su Mengman's face, "but she didn't tell me how she was going to die."
"I don't know that either," Su Mengman shook her head, "I'm also puzzled about how Jingzhu could have died so suddenly."
"You don't know?" Shen Xingyu raised an eyebrow, "I heard that Jingzhu saw you before she died."
"No, I never saw her," Su Mengman immediately denied it, "Mr. Shen, you can't wrong me like that."
"Ms. Su, there's no need for you to be nervous," Shen Xingyu smiled lightly, "I didn't come here today to investigate Jingzhu's cause of death; I have something else I want to ask you."
"What is it?" Su Mengman sighed in relief.
"The one who saved me back then wasn't Wanwan, but Jingzhu, right?" Shen Xingyu looked at Su Mengman.
"No, it was Wanwan," Su Mengman quickly denied it, "Mr. Shen, why would you ask that?"
"Ms. Su, I'm not here to waste time with you," Shen Xingyu looked coldly at Su Mengman, "If you don't speak up, I have ways to make you talk."
"Mr. Shen, are you threatening me?" Su Mengman was startled as she looked at Shen Xingyu.
"Perhaps," Shen Xingyu did not deny it, "Ms. Su, stop beating around the bush; you know I have little patience."
"Fine," Su Mengman sighed, "it was indeed Jingzhu who saved you."
"Then why does Mrs. Shen believe it was Wanwan who saved me?" Shen Xingyu asked.
"That's because I bribed a master," Su Mengman said awkwardly, "I had that master tell Mrs. Shen that Wanwan's fate matched yours and that as long as you two got married, the Shen Family would prosper."
"I see," Shen Xingyu sneered, not expecting Mrs. Shen to actually believe such things.
