"Hahaha, Lu Qingyun, long time no see!" The arrogant voice of Chi Yan came through the phone, filled with mockery and sarcasm.
"Chi Yan! Is that you?!" I gritted my teeth, my fingers gripping the steering wheel so tightly that they turned slightly white.
"What's wrong? Surprised to hear my voice?" Chi Yan laughed boastfully. "I have a big gift for you!"
"What do you mean?" A sense of foreboding rose within me.
"Want to know? Then come to the northern dock. Remember, you can only come alone; otherwise..." Chi Yan deliberately elongated his words, his tone laced with a hint of threat.
"Otherwise what?!" I slammed on the brakes, the car screeching to a halt on the road.
"Hahaha, Lu Qingyun, are you scared?" Chi Yan's triumphant laughter echoed from the other end of the line. "Don't worry, I won't hurt her—at least not right now. But if you don't behave, then I can't guarantee anything."
Just as he finished speaking, I heard Su Muqing's desperate cries for help: "Qingyun, save me... help..."
"Muqing!" My heart raced with anxiety, anger burning fiercely in my chest. "Chi Yan, you're despicable!"
"Hahaha, it's always been the case that the victor takes all. Lu Qingyun, if you want to save her, then obediently bring the Star-Moon Key to meet me!" With that, Chi Yan hung up.
Furious, I threw my phone aside and clenched my fists tightly, my knuckles turning white from the pressure.
"Qingyun, calm down!" Bai Ze pressed down on my shoulder and said in a low voice. "Chi Yan is cunning; we can't act recklessly."
I took a deep breath, trying to suppress my rage, and turned to Bai Ze. "Uncle, I have to save Muqing!"
Bai Ze looked at me with a complex expression; he knew that nothing he said could stop me now.
"Alright, I'll go with you!" Bai Ze finally relented.
I nodded, started the car, and turned it around, speeding towards the northern dock.
Under the night sky, the black sedan sped down the empty highway like an arrow released from a bow, its headlights cutting through the darkness and leaving two glaring beams of light. My heart was filled with worry and anger; I didn't know what awaited me, but I would do everything in my power to rescue Su Muqing!
I abruptly pushed open the car door, and Bai Ze followed closely behind. The deserted dock was filled with howling sea winds that carried a salty, fishy scent. In the dim light, Su Muqing was bound within a strange formation, unable to move. Chi Yan stood with his back to me, his arrogant laughter echoing across the empty dock.
"You've come!" Chi Yan turned around, a sinister smile on his face. He waved his hand, and the Scarred Tiger Demon pressed a dagger against Su Muqing's fair neck, leaving a shallow cut.
"Chi Yan, let her go!" Fury burned in my eyes as I forced the words out through clenched teeth.
Chi Yan raised an eyebrow dismissively. "Where's what I want?"
I took a deep breath, trying to keep my tone calm. "'Star-Moon Key,' I've brought it. Just let her go first!" With that, I pulled a small silver key from my pocket and waved it in front of Chi Yan.
Chi Yan's gaze flickered with greed as he looked at the Star-Moon Key in my hand. He signaled to the Scarred Tiger Demon to keep Su Muqing restrained.
Seizing the opportunity, I unleashed the power of my Skywolf Clan bloodline. Silver light swirled around me, gradually forming a powerful aura. I quickly formed hand seals and whispered ancient incantations, attempting to break the formation that bound Su Muqing.
Chi Yan sensed my intentions and his expression changed immediately. "You think you can play tricks!" he shouted angrily as he lunged toward Su Muqing.
"Muqing!" My heart sank as I wanted to rush forward to stop him but was forced back by Chi Yan's attack.
In a critical moment, a dazzling white light suddenly erupted around Su Muqing, and an immense force instantly sent the Scarred Tiger Demon flying. The ropes binding her shattered, and her previously weak face now radiated strength.
"This is..." I watched in disbelief at this scene; could this power mean that the Star-Moon Body had fully awakened?
"Qingyun, be careful!" Su Muqing's voice held urgency as she soared into the air, standing in front of me. The white light transformed into a barrier that nullified Chi Yan's attack effortlessly.
The attack from Chi Yan was neutralized, and he looked at Su Muqing in disbelief. "How is this possible? You actually..."
I couldn't afford to be surprised; I immediately moved to Su Muqing's side, fighting alongside her against Chi Yan. Su Muqing's Star-Moon Body contained immense power, and for a moment, Chi Yan was unable to gain the upper hand.
"Uncle!" I seized the opportunity and signaled to Bai Ze, who was observing from the shadows.
Bai Ze understood immediately; he had already set up a trap around the dock. With a single command from him, numerous warriors from the Skywolf Clan surged forward from their hiding spots, surrounding Chi Yan completely.
Realizing the situation was dire, Chi Yan attempted to break free and escape. There was no way I would let him succeed. I leaped in front of him, engaging in a fierce battle.
Although Chi Yan's demonic power was formidable, under my relentless pressure, he gradually began to show signs of defeat. He became furious but found himself at a loss.
"It's time to end this, Chi Yan!" I seized on his opening and struck his chest with my palm.
Chi Yan let out a terrible scream as he was sent flying backward, crashing heavily to the ground. He struggled to get up but soon realized he was gravely injured and unable to move.
I walked up to him, looking down from above. "You lost, Chi Yan."
Chi Yan glared at me in resentment, his eyes filled with anger and hatred.
"Qing Yun, don't kill him!" Su Muqing stepped beside me and gently tugged at my sleeve.
