"Dear, you need to come and deal with your son!" I was busy tidying up my son's toys, picture books, and his doodles when I couldn't help but complain to my husband, "We really need to have a serious talk with him. Adult computer games and children's drawings are not the same thing!"
"Okay, okay." My husband was in the kitchen making lunch. Hearing my complaint, he poked his head out and said with a smile, "But don't set your expectations too high; he's still young."
"But he's too mischievous." I picked up a few empty skincare product bottles from the floor and said sadly, "These are all my treasures."
"Mommy, what's this?" At that moment, my son sleepily walked out of his room and curiously asked about the empty bottles in my hand.
"This is skincare that Mommy uses." I squatted down and patted my son's little head. "But you used it all up."
"Can I still use it?" My son asked innocently with wide eyes.
"You..." I was about to say something when my husband came over and gently patted my shoulder.
"Yao Yao, he's still small; why are you getting worked up over this?"
"But..." I wanted to say more, but my husband had already picked up our son.
"Baby, is this your drawing?" He picked up a few sheets of paper from the floor and asked with a smile.
"Mm-hmm." My son nodded vigorously.
My husband chuckled and walked over to me with the drawings.
"Look, our son drew something quite cute."
I took the papers and looked at the childish strokes and imaginative world on them, unable to help but smile.
"Alright, I forgive him."
The first drawing was a gift from my son for Mother's Day. He outlined a woman with a blue crayon and wrote the word "Mommy" next to it. Although it was very simple, I loved it because it was my son's first gift to me.
The second drawing was of a galaxy painted by my son with black markers; it looked beautiful but had used up an entire set of my expensive skincare products.
"This one is nice too." My husband said while holding up the third drawing with a smile. "Look, this one is you and me."
I took it and was instantly stunned.
This painting is an outline of a man and a woman drawn with a black marker. The man's hair is styled to the left, while the woman's is to the right. Both of their faces are smiling as they lean against each other. Next to them are some childish words—"My dear Dad and Mom."
"This is..." I looked at my husband, my eyes gradually filling with tears.
"This was drawn by our son," my husband said with a smile. "It seems we need to have a serious talk with him after he wakes up from his nap."
"Mm." I nodded vigorously.
At that moment, our son ran out of the room and jumped into my arms.
"Mommy, I'm hungry."
I patted his little head and said, "Okay, Mommy will make dinner right away."
"Mm." Our son nodded eagerly.
My husband walked over and pulled me into his embrace. "Let's cook together."
"Okay."
I leaned against my husband's warm chest, feeling a sense of happiness fill my heart. No matter what, my husband and I would always be happy together.
Extra Chapter Two
"Baby, tell Mommy, who is the most handsome person in the world?" I asked gently while holding our son.
"It's Daddy," our son answered without hesitation.
Hearing this made me unable to hold back my laughter.
My husband was also very pleased with our son's answer.
"You’re such a good boy," he said, patting our son's little head. "So who do you think is more handsome, Uncle Qin Jin or Uncle Zhang Qiang?"
Our son tilted his little head in thought for a moment before seriously saying, "Uncle Qin Jin is handsome."
"Ah..." My husband's heart instantly shattered.
