That night, after returning home, I took a shower and sat on the sofa, starting to seriously study the planning proposal. This promotional video is mainly aimed at promoting the two brands, Estee and Hena. The filming location is on a commercial street, with all scenes shot in real settings, and most importantly, we only have two days for filming.
As I continued reading, I suddenly realized that the plot of this promotional video was quite interesting. The male and female leads meet by chance on the street and fall in love at first sight, leading to a sweet romantic story. Although the plot is a bit cliché, it shines with beautiful scenery and tasteful outfits.
The only problem is that my character as the female lead is quite talkative. "Estee's latest lipstick will make your lips shine." "Hena's cushion foundation gives you a dewy glow." "Estee's setting powder is lightweight and seamless, making your skin look naturally flawless."
I couldn't help but frown; these lines were so cheesy! Just then, my phone suddenly rang. I quickly answered, "Hello, this is Li Xinyao."
Manager Qin's voice came through, "Yao Yao, make sure to memorize the script well tonight; we’ll do a test shoot tomorrow."
I was taken aback. "Manager Qin, there are so many lines in this video; I might not be able to memorize them all tonight."
Manager Qin chuckled, "Don't worry. Although there are many lines in this video, you won't have to say much; it’s mainly Yi's part."
I couldn't help but complain that it would be better if I played the male lead instead. "Alright then, I'll do my best."
"Good. Get some rest early and come refreshed for the test shoot tomorrow."
"Okay, goodbye Manager Qin."
After hanging up the phone, I sighed; it seemed like I would be staying up late to memorize lines tonight. Once home, I had a light meal and then began to earnestly recite the script.
Although the lines were cheesy, I had to endure it for work. I studied until midnight and finally couldn't hold on any longer, falling into a deep sleep.
When I woke up the next morning, the first thing I did was open the fridge and take out a bottle of cold water. After drinking a few sips, I felt much more awake. I walked into the bathroom to freshen up.
In the mirror, I looked sleepy and exhausted, but my skin looked good—fair with a rosy hue, giving me a healthy appearance. I couldn't help but think of the bottle of Red Velvet Cream that Pei Chenyi had given me. Could that stuff really be that effective? I'll give it a try tonight.
After freshening up, I changed into my clothes and headed out to work. When I arrived at the commercial street, I greeted Pei Chenyi before we both went to change outfits. Today we were shooting a series of outdoor scenes, so both of us wore casual attire.
While the makeup artist was doing our makeup, she couldn't help but exclaim, "You two have such great skin; you hardly need any makeup."
I smiled and replied, "That's because you are so skilled."
The makeup artist chuckled, "Don't flatter me; I know my own level."
I smiled again and didn't say much more. Once we finished with our makeup, Pei Chenyi and I took our positions and prepared to start shooting.
Manager Qin looked at us and couldn't help but frown. "Yao Yao, what's wrong with your face?"
I was taken aback and touched my face. "What's wrong with my face?"
Manager Qin's brow furrowed tightly. "Your face is red and swollen, and you have little red spots!"
I widened my eyes in disbelief. Quickly pulling out a small mirror, I was devastated.
"Ah! What happened!"
My face was covered in countless tiny red spots, and it was red and swollen all over—extremely unattractive.
Manager Qin furrowed his brows and asked, "Are you allergic to something you ate?"
I shook my head and replied, "I didn't eat anything. I was fine last night."
Manager Qin thought for a moment and said, "Could it be an issue with your cosmetics?"
I shook my head again, "No, I used them yesterday and everything was fine."
Manager Qin sighed, "Could it be related to Yi?"
I paused for a moment, related to Pei Chenyi?
I quickly walked up to Pei Chenyi and grabbed his collar, "Pei Chenyi, did you give me fake face cream?"
Pei Chenyi looked confused, "What fake face cream?"
I glared at him, "The bottle of Red Velvet Cream you gave me yesterday. You said many female celebrities use it. Were you lying to me?"
Pei Chenyi shrugged, "I didn't lie to you. That cream is really effective."
I frowned, "Then why did I end up like this after using it?"
Pei Chenyi thought for a moment and asked, "How did you use it yesterday?"
I blinked and said, "I just applied it directly on my face."
Pei Chenyi looked speechless, "You didn't follow the method in the Little Pink Book?"
I was taken aback, "I had to use the method from the Little Pink Book?"
Pei Chenyi replied, "Of course! That cream is homemade by me; it's different from what's available on the market."
I was exasperated, "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
Pei Chenyi sighed, "I thought you knew."
I glared at him, "How would I know?"
Pei Chenyi shrugged again, "Well, there's nothing I can do now."
I felt like crying; I hated him so much!
