As we were walking, our group suddenly triggered a mechanism.
I was separated from Yi Yan.
In the chaos, I grabbed a hand, and it was Yi Yan's hand.
Together, we fell into a trap.
The trap wasn't deep.
There were no sharp blades at the bottom.
We landed heavily on the floor.
"Ouch!"
I winced in pain.
"Are you okay?"
Yi Yan asked with concern.
"I'm... I'm fine," I shook my head. "Just my butt hurts a bit."
"Your hand," Yi Yan pointed at my hand.
I looked down and realized I was gripping her tightly.
"I'm sorry, it was so chaotic just now, and I instinctively grabbed you," I explained, blushing.
"It's fine, you just hurt me a little."
Yi Yan said calmly.
I looked around and realized we had fallen into a tomb chamber.
Inside the chamber were several coffins.
"We got separated from the others; we need to find a way out."
"It must be Liu Jiawei who triggered the mechanism!" I said indignantly.
"Let's not talk too much; let's examine our surroundings," Yi Yan said as she walked toward the coffins.
"Don't go over there!" I shouted anxiously. "What if there's danger?"
"I need to see if there are any clues," Yi Yan explained.
Reluctantly, I followed her over.
On the coffin lid, there was a pool of blood.
"This must have been left by Uncle," Yi Yan said confidently.
"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.
"Did you forget the code word I told you?" Yi Yan reminded me.
"Could it be... that this pool of blood is a code?"
I asked in surprise.
Yi Yan nodded.
"What does this pool of blood say?" I asked curiously.
"I have a method to decipher it, but it requires fire."
"I have a lighter."
I quickly took out the lighter.
"My Uncle once taught me a code that needs fire to be interpreted."
"This method of interpretation is quite special; it's my first time using it, so I'm not sure if it will work."
Yi Yan's expression was somewhat serious.
She took the lighter from my hand, lit it, and aimed the flame at the pool of blood.
Under the flickering light, the blood revealed the character "danger"!
"Does this mean my Uncle is telling us he is in danger?" I asked anxiously.
"Not necessarily," Yi Yan shook her head. "It could also be a warning left for us by my Uncle."
"A warning?"
"Yes," Yi Yan nodded. "Perhaps my Uncle encountered danger here as well, which is why he left this mark to warn us not to go any further."
Yi Yan's words made my heart sink.
What kind of danger has Uncle encountered?
Could he already...
I didn't dare to think further.
"Regardless, we need to hurry and find Uncle."
"Either find Uncle or find the exit," Yi Yan said firmly.
We cautiously moved forward along the passage.
Fearing that we might accidentally trigger a mechanism.
Fortunately, we did not encounter any danger and successfully entered another chamber.
This chamber was much larger than the one we had just fallen into.
Clearly, this was the main hall of the ancient tomb.
However, it had become a complete wreck.
A pile of decayed wooden planks was scattered on the floor, and the carvings on the walls were destroyed beyond recognition.
"It seems that someone has been here before," Yi Yan sighed.
"How do you know?" I asked curiously.
"Look over there."
Yi Yan pointed to a corner of the tomb chamber.
I followed her finger and saw a mineral water bottle sitting prominently in the corner!
"This... this is..."
I gasped in surprise.
"It seems that someone has been here before us."
Yi Yan's expression grew serious.
"Do you think they might have discovered the mark left by Uncle?"
"I'm not sure," Yi Yan shook her head. "But if they found the mark, they would likely know that this place is dangerous and might have already left."
"So... what should we do?"
For a moment, I was at a loss.
"Let's keep looking for other clues," Yi Yan suggested.
"Okay." I nodded.
We began searching the tomb chamber.
The tomb chamber was large, and we searched for a long time before we had looked in every corner.
Fortunately, we found another character for "danger."
Unfortunately, aside from that, we did not find any other clues.
"What should we do? We can't find Uncle..."
I was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan.
"Don't worry, let's think it through," Yi Yan comforted me.
"I want to find Chen Sheng and the others first," I told Yi Yan my plan.
"Why?"
"There are more of them. The more people we have, the more strength we can muster, which increases the chances of finding Uncle."
I spoke while pondering.
"Mm." Yi Yan nodded, "That makes sense. Then let's go find..."
Before she could finish her sentence, I suddenly saw the stone slab above her head move slightly.
