"You..." Xu Jiayi wanted to say something, but ultimately stopped herself, her eyes filled with struggle and pain.
She gently pushed away the champagne I offered, and the glass shattered on the floor, the red liquid spreading across the white carpet like her heart, breaking drop by drop.
I watched helplessly as she took Lin Tianyu's hand and walked to the center of the banquet hall, accepting everyone's blessings. Lin Tianyu wore a smug smile; he leaned down and whispered in Xu Jiayi's ear, saying something that made her face turn even paler.
"Congratulations, Young Master Lin, congratulations, Miss Xu."
"A match made in heaven, truly a talented couple!"
"Yes, may they be happy forever!"
Various blessings surrounded them like sharp knives, piercing my heart mercilessly.
I endured the intense pain inside me and looked down at the fallen tray in my hand, which still held some unfinished champagne, reflecting my current embarrassment like a mirror.

The crowd around me was bustling, dressed in luxurious attire, their faces adorned with hypocritical smiles as glasses clinked and laughter filled the air.
Yet I felt like an outsider, excluded from this false prosperity.
I turned and casually tossed the tray into a corner before leaving the banquet hall without looking back.
My footsteps quickened as I crossed the corridor and passed through the garden until I reached a secluded pavilion. Here, far from the noise, only the sound of wind rustling through the leaves calmed my thoughts.
"What are you thinking about?" A deep voice sounded behind me.
I turned to see Uncle Zhao standing not far away; his face bore its usual calmness, but his eyes held a hint of insight.
"Nothing." I shook my head, trying hard to appear calm.
"Your heart is no longer with her." Uncle Zhao approached me, his tone calm yet firm.
I fell silent; I knew he was right. I had always known that my love was nothing but an illusion, a dream destined to fail.
"Lu Fan, you need to pull yourself together. Your story is just beginning." Uncle Zhao patted my shoulder, his eyes filled with expectation.
I took a deep breath and looked up at the night sky, the stars twinkling as if guiding me toward my future.
"I understand." I clenched my fists, determination shining in my eyes.
Just as I finished speaking, a gasp echoed through the banquet hall, followed by a series of gunshots.
"What’s happening?" I turned to head back to the banquet hall but was grabbed by Uncle Zhao.
"Don't go over there!" Uncle Zhao whispered, his tone serious.
I followed his gaze and saw a group of men in black rushing into the banquet hall, armed and firing wildly into the crowd.
"Who are they? What do they want?" I panicked, watching the chaos unfold in the banquet hall—people screaming, others trying to escape. The entire place had instantly turned into a hell on earth.
"They are after Xu Jiayi," Uncle Zhao calmly analyzed the situation.
"Why do they want to capture her? Isn't she Lin Tianyu's fiancée?" I asked, confused and feeling uneasy.
"Lin Tianyu, Xu Jiayi, their relationship is far more complicated than we imagine," Uncle Zhao shook his head meaningfully, not continuing to explain.
"What should we do now?" I asked anxiously, my gaze constantly drifting toward the banquet hall.
"Don't act rashly; just observe the situation," Uncle Zhao said as he pulled me to hide in the bushes, lowering his voice.
I tightly grasped Uncle Zhao's hand, feeling restless and anxious, unsure of what was happening outside or how Xu Jiayi was doing.
At that moment, a commotion suddenly erupted from the banquet hall as a group of men in black escorted Xu Jiayi out.
"Jia Yi!" I couldn't help but shout, wanting to rush out, but Uncle Zhao grabbed me forcefully.
"What are you doing? Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Uncle Zhao glared at me.
