At the entrance of the villa, there were security guards on duty, screening those who wished to enter. The Qin family villa was not a place just anyone could access, especially with enemies lurking outside. The guards had been instructed to be particularly cautious.
"Stop! This is the Qin Family Villa; you can't go in!" The guard, unfamiliar with Jiang Chen, quickly blocked the way of the young man trying to enter.
"Hey there, I was invited by Old Qin to attend a banquet. Are you sure you won't let me in?" Jiang Chen asked with a smile.
"Old Qin invited you? Who are you trying to fool!" The guard was confident in his response.
Indeed, only social elites or wealthy individuals were invited to the Qin family's banquets. They all arrived in luxury cars.
Having worked here for so long, the guard had never seen Old Qin's guests arrive on foot. It was impossible for any of them to come without a car; if their vehicle broke down, they could always take a taxi. How could someone possibly walk here?
"Should I just go back then?" Jiang Chen continued to smile.
"If you're not going back, do you really think you can get in?" The guard found Jiang Chen's question somewhat unnecessary.
Jiang Chen turned around; if he left, the guard would likely regret it.
Just then, a car pulled up with a screech and stopped. Both Jiang Chen and the guard assumed it had halted because it had reached the entrance.
"Jiang Chen, get in! Let's go in together!" A middle-aged man called out from the rolled-down window.
"Principal Hua? Is that you? Alright! I was just being stopped from entering!" Jiang Chen laughed as he opened the back door and got inside.
"Sir, may I ask who you are?" The guard saluted Principal Hua and respectfully inquired.
"I am Hua Dongfang, here at Old Qin's invitation to celebrate his granddaughter's academic achievements—she's also my student!"
"Oh, you're Principal Hua! You're on the list; you can go in. But this young man can't just enter!" The guard pointed at Jiang Chen.
Hua Dongfang looked puzzled and asked Jiang Chen, "What's going on? Didn't Old Qin invite you?"
"He did! But since I walked here, he wouldn't let me in!"
Upon hearing this, Hua Dongfang became angry and turned to the guard. "Check the invitation list and see if Jiang Chen's name is there. If it's there, let him in—who cares how he arrived?"
The guard hurriedly glanced at the list. He was stunned when he saw not only that Jiang Chen's name was present but that it was also first on the list!
How could this young man be listed as such? The list didn't mention ages but only titles: Chairman of Dongsheng Group. The guard never imagined that a group chairman would look like such a kid.
"Jiang... Director Jiang! I'm so sorry; I didn't know it was you!" The guard became anxious and stuttered slightly. If Old Qin found out about this mistake, he might lose his job.
"Forget it; just open the gate quickly!" Jiang Chen said generously. There was no need to hold a grudge against someone like him; after all, he truly looked too young and had walked here—how could anyone connect him with a group chairman?
The security guard agreed and quickly opened the door. The driver pressed the accelerator, and the car drove into the villa area, coming to a stop in the parking lot.
Here, a security guard was directing guests on how to proceed, mainly instructing the driver to go to the bungalow next to the villa. Clearly, the driver was not meant to join the main guests at the table.
Several luxury cars were already parked in the lot. Hua Dongfang's vehicle could hardly be considered luxurious; parked among them, it seemed somewhat out of place. There was no way around it—people of Hua Dongfang's status were generally not invited by Old Qin. However, his granddaughter had been admitted to university from his school, and this banquet was to celebrate Qin Huansha's acceptance, which was why Hua Dongfang received an invitation.
Hua Dongfang and Jiang Chen arrived relatively early. Old Qin and his granddaughter Qin Huansha were at the entrance welcoming guests.
"Director Jiang, Principal Hua, please come inside!" To Jiang Chen's surprise, both grandfather and granddaughter addressed him first. This time, Qin Huansha's attitude towards Jiang Chen had noticeably improved. It was unclear whether it was due to Jiang Chen becoming the chairman of the group or because she understood the debt of gratitude she owed him for saving her life.

As they entered the main hall of the villa, they saw two tables set up. This indicated that there would only be two tables of guests tonight. Given that it was at home, there would naturally be fewer guests; if there were more, they would have gone to a hotel.
Aside from the staff in the villa, a few guests had already arrived but had not yet taken their seats; instead, they were chatting near the tables. Jiang Chen did not recognize any of them, but Principal Hua knew them all and greeted each one while introducing Jiang Chen. It turned out they were all bosses from various industries in Nangang City.
These bosses were surprised to see such a young man as the chairman of a group company. However, since they were from different industries, their surprise quickly faded; after all, they reasoned that if they handed their businesses over to their sons, wouldn't their sons also become chairmen? Wasn't their sons' age similar to this young man’s?
At that moment, He Chungwai appeared in the hall, busy with arrangements for the banquet. He was likely helping the butler; after all, there was no need for him to stay glued to Old Qin’s side in his own home.
Seeing Jiang Chen, He Chungwai approached warmly to greet him and shake hands. As for everyone else, He Chungwai did not acknowledge them—whether due to unfamiliarity or other reasons remained unclear. However, everyone else knew he was Old Qin's personal bodyguard and did not mind whether he greeted them or not.
What puzzled everyone was why a bodyguard would treat Jiang Chen so well.
After exchanging pleasantries with Jiang Chen, He Chungwai went back to his tasks. Jiang Chen didn’t feel like standing around with everyone else and sank into a valuable sofa instead.
Principal Hua sat down on the sofa briefly as well; however, seeing that several big bosses remained standing, he thought better of sitting down himself. This left Jiang Chen sitting alone like an oddity with an unrefined posture, causing some of the bosses to frown slightly.
More people gradually arrived and greeted the earlier guests and Principal Hua. Jiang Chen remained seated on the sofa without getting up. Seeing his demeanor, Principal Hua lost interest in making introductions. The newcomers were naturally social elites or big bosses who also showed little interest in a young kid lounging on a sofa.
The last arrival was the governor of Nangang City. His surname was Fu; since his position was significant enough, everyone simply referred to him as "Governor" without using his surname to avoid misunderstandings.
It was no surprise that Old Qin accompanied him inside; other guests promptly greeted the governor upon his arrival.
"The governor is here; let’s all take our seats!" Old Qin announced.
