Chapter 201: Night Raid on the International Trade Building
It is clear that the events at the Cemetery are connected to those at the International Trade Building. I even suspect that the five ghosts were sent by Chen Xiong. As for the five livestock and five people, I can only think that they are the work of Guo Yongjia for now.
But for the moment, I am not thinking about that much. What I need to do is help the police fulfill the promise I once made.
Around three in the early morning, I arrived at the International Trade Building. Even at night, the International Trade Building is surrounded by a swirling Yin Qi, and standing outside, I can clearly feel that the temperature here is much lower.
Currently, no one is managing the International Trade Building. The old man in charge of opening the door, Old Man Zhang, has either resigned or is not on duty. The glass main entrance of the International Trade Building is tightly locked. I took out my frying pan from behind me and smashed it against the glass door. After breaking the glass door, I took out some talismans.
These talismans were not opened; I arranged them around the entire glass main entrance to form an 'X' blockade to prevent any ghosts inside from escaping and causing harm.
Next, I looked at the empty lobby. The lobby was dim due to the lack of lights, and as I stood in front of the door, I took a deep breath. Then, with my right hand holding the frying pan and my left hand pulling out a Ghost Seal, I lightly tapped it. Suddenly, white light and golden light shone brightly beside me.
"Did you miss me? Darling?" Burning Soul appeared and smiled seductively at me.
On the other side, Bianhan came out and gaped at Burning Soul before letting out a loud roar.
"Your opponent is not her!" I quickly said. "Your opponent is over there!"
I raised my right hand and pointed with the frying pan straight ahead.
In front of us, Master was shrouded in a layer of dark mist, and shadows were swaying within it!
After Bianhan roared at Chickenshit with his mouth wide open, he used all four limbs to run forward.
"Chen Xiong!" I watched as Bianhan disappeared and then said calmly, "I'm coming!"
As soon as the words fell, I held the Frying Pan in my right hand and the Copper Coin Sword in my left, plunging into the darkness.
Chickenshit was not to be outdone, transforming instantly as the nameless Ghost Fire flared up, illuminating the surroundings.
With Chickenshit by my side, I charged straight to the Corridor entrance, with Bianhan leading the way. Any ghosts that suddenly appeared beside me were sent flying with a single swing of my pan.
As for Chickenshit, those ghosts dared not provoke her; in their eyes, I was just a tempting morsel.
The Corridor entrance was at the end of the hall, and to reach it, we had to pass by the Elevator.
While directing Bianhan toward the Corridor entrance, I swung the Frying Pan to fend off the ghosts that appeared around me.
As we passed by the Elevator Entrance, the Elevator suddenly chimed and opened. At that moment, all the lights in the first-floor hall flickered on.
Inside the Elevator stood a woman in a color-changing long dress, quietly positioned in the center. She was clasping her hands and looking down. After I glanced at her, she slowly raised her right hand and waved at me.
“Roar!”
At that moment, Bianhan let out a deafening sound. Simultaneously, Chickenshit beside me transformed back into human form. She looked at the woman in the Elevator and said with a smile, “You seem quite delicious!”
The woman in the Elevator trembled all over and then halted her raised hand mid-air. She slowly lifted her head, revealing a pale face devoid of color. At that same time, the once brightly lit hall began to flicker ominously.
“Stay away from me!” she suddenly shouted. “Stay away from me!”
Before her words could finish, the woman in the Elevator lunged at Chickenshit. Without hesitation, Chickenshit extended one hand, summoning a ball of Ghost Fire that surged toward the woman.
This woman was named Zhang Bingqing; I had already clashed with her before. However, last time I didn’t have Rooster or Chickenshit with me, nor did I possess Ghost Seal. This time, I was determined to put an end to Chen Xiong's old lair.
Chickenshit and Bingqing clearly did not get along. Although it was their first meeting, the two women almost instantly got into a fight. However, they didn't really use their fire and ice powers; instead, they acted like two ordinary women, pulling each other's hair and tearing clothes. The only difference was that they bit each other with their mouths.
Chickenshit was aggressive. Almost every time she made physical contact with Bingqing, she would take the opportunity to bite her. After each bite, a watery blood would flow from Bingqing, and then Chickenshit would have blood on her lips, chewing on the flesh she had bitten off from Bingqing while continuing to wrestle. Bingqing did not back down either.
They exchanged bites back and forth.
Meanwhile, Rooster kept screeching and pacing in circles. I knew it wanted to eliminate Chickenshit and Bingqing, but it hesitated to attack Chickenshit because of me.
I walked over to Rooster and said, "Your opponent is upstairs! Follow me!"
Since there was electricity, albeit unstable, and Chickenshit was entangled with Bingqing, I really didn't want to witness their bloody violence. Moreover, it was already past three o'clock; the autumn ghosts would stop moving around at around six in the morning. I had to hurry.
After entering the Elevator, I pressed the '26' button. Once Rooster entered the Elevator, I closed the doors.
Inside the Elevator, I wasn't worried since Rooster was helping me. So I took out ten Paper Men from my Cloth Bag, then used a Ghost Seal to stamp each Paper Figurine. After that, I bit my index fingers to draw a circle on the Ground, quickly making hand gestures and saying, "Urgent Order! Little ghosts, obey my command! Rise!"
As soon as I finished speaking, I quickly raised my hand, and ten little ghosts' heads emerged from the floor of the Elevator. These were ten little ghosts with their heads bowed, all dressed in matching funeral garments. I placed them one by one into the Paper Man, then drew eyes on each Paper Figurine. Finally, I inserted a thin red thread with a needle into each of their nape areas.
The Elevator ascended rapidly. Although it paused briefly with each flickering light, it was still much faster than taking the stairs.
Before long, the Elevator stopped at twenty-six, and the doors opened with a ding.
"Attack!" I shouted, and then Rooster lunged out of the door.
Outside the Elevator, there were glass walls everywhere. At that moment, all the lights in the building suddenly went out.
A bright light erupted from Rooster, almost instantly disappearing from sight. Its fighting style was simple: either it bit off an arm or head of any ghost it encountered or used its front limbs or hind hooves to knock them away. In just a moment, the entire Twenty-Sixth Floor was filled with mournful ghostly wails.
I strolled to the entrance of the Corridor, slowly pulling out the Flashlight from my pocket. With the Flashlight in my left hand and a Frying Pan in my right, I noticed ten Paper Men closely following behind me.
The Twenty-Sixth Floor featured Glass Partitions, leaving only enough space for a single footstep, with glass walls on both sides.
The Rooster had disappeared. I knew that its primal instincts would likely clear out most of the ghosts here, and all I needed to do was find the Conference Room and capture Chen Xiong.
Through the light of the Flashlight, I spotted a trash can not far ahead. As I walked over, a small head suddenly popped out from the opening of the trash can. It was a child's head. Upon seeing me, it opened its mouth wide and let out a shriek before suddenly flying out of the trash can.
I quickly swung the Frying Pan and knocked it away.
At the same time, a cluster of Ghost Fire flickered out from behind the glass wall beside me, almost instantly passing through the glass. The original cluster of Ghost Fire transformed into a giant face that opened its mouth to bite at my neck. My right pinky finger twitched slightly, and two Paper Men behind me suddenly leaped up from the Ground. The dismembered Paper Figurines were instantly scorched by the fire. I had just enough time to react and swung the Frying Pan, sending the Ghostly Face flying.
Meanwhile, on my other side, five ghosts suddenly emerged from the Ground. From above, a Blood-Soaked Revelation slowly appeared, its mouth open as drops of blood mixed with saliva dripped onto my head.
At that moment, my left hand moved rapidly, and the remaining eight Paper Men flew toward my head and sides almost simultaneously.
I severed the Red String, letting the Paper Men fight while I alone took the Flashlight and approached the Conference Room near the Elevator Entrance.
Just then,
"Roar!"
A sudden roar startled me, followed by the sound of shattering glass. Then, from down the corridor came the noise of objects crashing to the ground. I shone my Flashlight in that direction.
On the other side stood a Nine-Eyed Demon with its mouth wide open, drooling onto the Ground as it stared intently at me with its nine eyes. It then lunged at me using all four limbs. At that moment, a piece of glass beside it shattered, and a beast glowing with white light suddenly pounced on the Nightmare Beast against another piece of glass, causing it to break apart.
Needless to say, that beast that helped me tackle the Nightmare Beast was the Rooster. Although it was just a quick rush, I could tell that Rooster was injured; its fur was soaked with blood, yet its desire to fight had only intensified.
Nightmare Beast How did it end up here?
Isn't the Nightmare Beast Guo Yongjia's guardian beast?
In the human world, there is a saying about the twelve zodiac signs, and some households also worship House Spirit.
In fact, when we say House Spirit, we are referring to beasts that have lived for many years and have attained a certain level of Spell mastery, thus claiming to be immortals.
Many households have House Spirit, but they simply do not realize it.
For example, some people have the habit of keeping pets, whether cats or dogs. They help their owners take care of children, accompany them while shopping, and cheer them up with conversation when needed.
Every pet can actually communicate with humans; it's just that people do not understand them. However, they understand their owner's heart and will remain loyal, dedicating their lives to protecting their owners. This is what House Spirit represents.
Additionally, some families may discover large rats, snakes, cockroaches, or mosquitoes during spring cleaning. These unusual creatures have never harmed their owners. Even after being discovered, as long as the owner does not act first, they will obediently leave and find another home without causing any harm. This is also a form of House Spirit.
House Spirit is an immortal that ensures the safety of the household and a guardian beast that protects its owner. When needed, they will never back down and will fight to the death to defend their owner's life. Even if the owner is unaware, they will silently carry out their protective duties.
My guardian beast is the Burning Soul Rooster, while Guo Yongjia's guardian beast is the Nightmare Beast.
Now that the Nightmare Beast is here, what does this signify?
I slightly turned around and looked at the Main Entrance of the Conference Room. At that moment, the glass Main Entrance of the Conference Room creaked open slowly!
