Chapter 93: Strange Happenings in the Village (3) 0

That night, we took our positions in the fields. Along with me were over a dozen villagers. To prevent whatever was eating the grain from being scared away by too many people, I instructed everyone to spread out. This way, if it was indeed a malevolent entity, it would sense the lack of strong yang energy and would naturally be deterred from approaching. 0

As the night deepened, the fields fell into silence. No one dared to make a sound; the only noise came from insects chirping in the darkness. 0

We waited from the first half of the night until the second half, but there was still no sign of anything. Not even a single wild rabbit appeared. 0

At this moment, I began to wonder if perhaps there were too many of us, and that we had been detected by whatever was out there, causing it to stay away. 0

Thinking this, I prepared to get up and tell everyone to head back while I stayed behind to keep watch alone. 0

Just then, a muffled shout came from about a hundred meters to my right. I was startled and realized something was wrong. The voice clearly indicated that a villager had been injured, so I sprang up and ran toward the source of the sound. 0

As I ran, the other villagers heard my movement and understood that the creature had arrived. They rushed in from all directions… 0

When I reached the location of the sound, I found a villager collapsed on the ground, frothing at the mouth, his face pale as paper, and cold sweat beading on his forehead—he looked extremely frightening. Looking around, I noticed some movement in the grain field about ten steps away; I knew that whatever had harmed him must be there. 0

However, at that moment, I couldn't afford to worry about that creature; saving a life was more important. 0

Seeing the villager lying on the ground in such a state made it clear to me that he had been harmed by malevolent energy. In folklore, this is often referred to as a "Killing Curse." 0

There are many types of malevolent energy. For instance, during construction work in some areas, people might mysteriously collapse and foam at the mouth as if having seizures. Similarly, during funerals when coffins are being closed, it is not uncommon for someone to feel faint and dizzy—these occurrences are all caused by a Killing Curse. 0

Killing Curse can be light or severe. It may seem ordinary because as long as one thinks of dispelling the curse, everything will be fine; however, it can be serious if one does not understand how to dispel it or fails to find a master in time. In that case, one might take half a day to gradually wake up, or worse, could lose their life. Therefore, whenever there is construction work or during a Funeral when the coffin is being closed, or even while walking or at home, if one suddenly feels a gust of wind, it is likely the presence of negative energy. If unfortunately affected by this negative energy and experiencing chest tightness, one should be aware that it could be due to the Killing Curse and should quickly call someone to dispel it. 0

Returning to the main point, other villagers soon ran over. Upon seeing the villager collapsed on the Ground, they panicked and looked around in fright, asking me what to do about this sudden fainting incident. 0

I told them not to panic; this person just encountered negative energy, and with me here, nothing serious would happen. I then took out my brush and ink from my bag and drew an Exorcism Talisman on the villager's forehead. After finishing the incantation, I stomped my foot on the Ground and shouted loudly: "Command!" Instantly, the villager woke up. 0

When the villager regained consciousness and saw himself lying on the Ground surrounded by so many people, he recalled what happened before he fainted and urgently said to me: "Quickly, go kill that creature! I just saw it; it looked like an old tiger! But just as I was about to hit it with my hoe, I suddenly felt dizzy and fainted." 0

Although I heard the villager's description, I knew that what he saw could not possibly be a tiger or any fierce beast because such animals do not carry negative energy. Moreover, tigers are carnivorous and have never been known to eat grains or beans. Additionally, in the past two nights, villagers had only been harmed by negative energy without anyone being torn apart by wild beasts. So I was certain that what was coming was not an ordinary carnivorous beast; perhaps it was some kind of evil entity. 0

Now that the villager who had fainted was fine, I looked towards where there had been movement in the rice field earlier and found that whatever it was had already run away—perhaps it was scared off by the arrival of many villagers. 0

There was nothing I could do; I realized that tonight had been a wasted effort. Just as I was about to tell everyone to go home and come back tomorrow night, one villager suddenly pointed in another direction and exclaimed: "Look over there… something is moving in the Rice!" 0

Upon hearing this, we all turned our gaze towards where the villager pointed. In the bright moonlight, we could see that about one or two hundred meters away in another rice field, the rice plants were swaying continuously—clearly indicating that something was there. 0

At that moment, I didn’t care about anything else; I had come to find it after all and didn’t want to spend another night without knowing what it was. With that thought in mind, I dashed towards that direction… 0

Seeing me run over, the villagers cast aside their fear and followed closely behind me. 0

As I ran, I performed hand gestures on my forehead to draw an Exorcism Talisman to prevent being affected by whatever was there. When I got closer, I quickly made a gesture for silence to signal everyone to stop. Then I took a hoe from one of the villagers and quietly approached the area where things were shaking. 0

Slowly, I finally reached close enough to hear a hissing sound coming from whatever was there. At that moment, I took a deep breath, raised my hoe high above my head, shouted loudly, and swung down hard at whatever was hidden among the rice plants… 0

Suddenly, that thing let out a loud roar, and I was certain that when I swung the hoe, I had definitely hit it. I saw a beast, as large as a tiger, suddenly leap out from the grain stalks, looking extremely ferocious. In an instant, my face turned pale with fear! 0

Although I couldn't see its exact appearance at first, just one glance was enough for me to know it was a fierce beast. Such a massive creature, even if there were ten of me, I wouldn't stand a chance against it. 0

At the moment my face turned white, I felt a strong whirlwind rushing towards me. I immediately felt a wave of chest tightness, but fortunately, I had previously drawn a Paper Talisman on my forehead, so it didn't harm me. 0

However, despite this, I was still stunned by its ferocity. I was truly frozen in place, unable to move. Part of it was that I didn't react in time, and part of it was sheer terror because at that moment I clearly saw what I had struck with the hoe—it was a massive male lion! 0

How many people have seen an adult male lion? Especially one as wild as this; it was completely different from those kept in zoos. A lion was just two or three steps away from me, and I had just hit it with a hoe, provoking its anger. The feeling of panic made me feel utterly hopeless! 0

Indeed, in front of ghosts, I wouldn't be so afraid because I could have confidence in my self-defense. But against such a beast, I had no chance to fight back. I thought to myself that this time I would surely lose my life here. 0

Just as I prepared to face its wrath and awaited its pounce to tear me into pieces, it suddenly turned and fled towards the mountains behind it… 0

Watching that thing run away like this left me momentarily stunned until the villagers came over to talk to me; only then did I come back to my senses. Yes, I thought this time would be my last; unexpectedly, I managed to escape. 0

At this point, everyone asked me what that thing was earlier. I told them it was a lion. Instantly, everyone was shocked, staring wide-eyed at each other without saying a word. Who wouldn't be afraid of such a fierce beast? 0

I then glanced at the spot where the lion had been and noticed something white and red on the ground. I hurriedly picked it up and found that it was actually a piece of Ears, made from white paper shaped like lion Ears, and this paper Ears was splattered with bright red blood. Seeing this piece of Ears, how could I not realize that it must have fallen from the lion's head when I struck it with the hoe? 0

However, looking at this piece of Ears in my hand left me truly shocked because it was Paper Craft. No wonder that lion didn't eat people; it turned out to be a Paper Craft lion! 0
