Chapter 84: A Fortunate Location
I had been in the hospital for many days. The doctor said I had two broken ribs in my chest, but fortunately, they did not puncture my chest cavity; otherwise, my life would have been in danger.
A few days later, although my injuries were not fully healed, I insisted on leaving the hospital to handle the funeral arrangements for Master Ma.
I kept half of Master Ma's jade pendant. Although he did not ask me to give it to his wandering disciple, I thought it would be appropriate to return it to him when he comes back, as he is Master Ma's true successor.
We had a grudge against Liu Er, and since Wang Team suffered heavy casualties, he placed Liu Er on the internet as a wanted criminal nationwide, classifying him as a dangerous individual. Locally, there was even a reward for information leading to his capture. This money was secured by Wang Team from the city, and he vowed to capture Liu Er.
When we were almost fully recovered, Wang Team brought several surviving detectives from Liu Family Village to find me and asked if I would help Ghost Granny find a new cemetery.
I nodded immediately; yes, it had been a long time since I promised Ghost Granny. It was during my first visit to Liu Family Village that I made that promise. I had been busy with matters related to Liu Family Village and then recovering from my injuries while handling funeral arrangements. Over half a month had passed, and Ghost Granny's request had been left unaddressed.
Ghost Granny had saved us twice: once helping us escape from Ghost Market and another time preventing us from falling victim to soul-binding techniques. We should repay her kindness, especially since she only hoped we could help her find a new Yin Zhai. It was such a small favor; if we kept delaying, Ghost Granny might get angry.
So, I took a compass and headed towards Liu Family Village with Wang Team.
That day we arrived at the local police station. The Chief heard we were looking for a guide to Mengshanwa and offered to lead us since he was a local and knew the area well.
The Chief informed us that Mengshanwa was halfway to Liu Family Village. Before long, he led us into the mountains. After walking for over twenty minutes along the mountain path towards Liu Family Village, the Chief pointed to a nearby mountain and said that was Mengshanwa.
We looked over; it was a relatively flat mountain among the towering peaks surrounding it. Because the nearby mountains were higher, this mountain appeared lower in comparison, resembling a valley.
Leaving the mountain path, we entered the forest and arrived at what was referred to as Mengshanwa.
At this point, the Chief already knew we were there to relocate a deceased person's cemetery, so he asked me where exactly I wanted the tomb mound located in the mountains.
I said, "I’m not sure about the specifics; we’ll have to see as we go."
Suddenly, Chief was taken aback. He said that Mengshanwa was vast, and without a specific location, it would be difficult to find a Tomb Mound in such a large mountain.
I thought about it and agreed. At that moment, Wang Team also asked me if Ghost Granny hadn’t mentioned a specific location.
I replied, "Ghost Granny only told me that her Yin Zhai is in Mengshanwa, Yellow Earth Slope, Under the Shade of the Sophora Tree, Sit the Pig's Head."
Everyone was stunned upon hearing this and wondered what it meant. They questioned why Ghost Granny hadn’t been clearer. Now, finding her Yin Zhai was indeed not an easy task.
I smiled and told them, "Don’t worry; Ghost Granny has actually been quite clear. Mengshanwa, Yellow Earth Slope, Under the Shade of the Sophora Tree, Sit the Pig's Head. This clearly indicates that her Yin Zhai is on a Yellow Earth Slope in Mengshanwa."
At this point, Chief asked, "Then what does Under the Shade of the Sophora Tree, Sit the Pig's Head mean?"
Clearly, Chief had voiced the detectives' confusion, and everyone looked at me curiously. I thought for a moment and said, "It likely means that her Yin Zhai is under a Locust Tree, and the pig's head probably refers to the terrain of that Yellow Earth Slope resembling a pig's head."
Everyone suddenly understood. Wang Team said, "So all we need to do is find that Yellow Earth Slope that looks like a pig's head and then locate the Locust Tree on it to find Ghost Granny’s Yin Zhai, right?"
I nodded, thinking that if I hadn’t misunderstood, it should be like that.
Thus, we began our ascent to the highest point of Mengshanwa because only from a high vantage point could we discern the terrain and identify the Yellow Earth Slope shaped like a pig's head.
Climbing was exhausting, especially in these continuous mountains where development had yet to occur. The area was still semi-pristine forest with dense trees, making walking through such terrain quite laborious. It took us nearly half an hour to finally reach the highest peak.
At the summit, the trees were relatively sparse. Standing atop the mountain, I could see all around me; my mind felt much more at ease.
Looking down at the surroundings, I quickly spotted a dirt slope not far away that resembled a pig's head. There weren’t many trees there, and a stream flowed down beside the slope. Seeing this reminded me of Ghost Granny’s drenched appearance; I thought that the Yellow Earth Slope she mentioned must be there since only that dirt slope looked like a pig's head and there was water nearby. Perhaps Ghost Granny’s Yin Zhai was not far from that stream.
We found our destination, so we descended the mountain towards the Yellow Earth Slope. While going down, I kept observing the surrounding mountains and terrain, and I discovered that the feng shui here is excellent, with many places suitable for building Yin Zhai.
Among them, I found a particular spot with extraordinary feng shui. It resembled a winding Water City Jade Belt, with Anshan Santai Xiufeng in front forming a horizontal line. The Azure Dragon and White Tiger guarded it, and there was Yahu. The Hall Layout was spacious and proper, and the Eight Nations were tightly locked without any gaps. According to the principles of feng shui, this place could produce a Chancellor; it truly is a treasure of feng shui.
At that moment, I couldn't help but exclaim excitedly that it was a treasure of feng shui. Whoever had their Fude buried there would surely become wealthy and prosperous in future generations.
Upon hearing this, everyone became curious and looked around at the place I pointed to. They asked me how such good feng shui could look similar to other places and seemed unremarkable.
I smiled; it's indeed difficult for outsiders to see the nuances of feng shui. Since it was rare to encounter such good feng shui, I enthusiastically pointed out its features to them. I said, "Look, there are Four Mountains surrounding it, strong and powerful, welcoming from both sides, opening up through the gorge. The winding path leads back, resembling an ancestral guardian's image. The shape resembles Water City Jade Belt and Anshan Santai Xiufeng in front forms a horizontal line. The Azure Dragon gazes back while the White Tiger bows its head inward, accompanied by Yahu. The Hall Layout is spacious and proper, and the Eight Nations are tightly locked without any gaps. According to feng shui principles, as long as a person with fortune is buried here, it will surely come true!"
Hearing this, everyone laughed and remarked how surprising it was that feng shui could have such a significant effect. However, the Chief who brought us here suddenly lit up with excitement and asked me, "Master, my father passed away many years ago, and I'm worried about finding a good feng shui spot for his reburial. Could you please point out the auspicious spot over there so I can bury my father's remains? If I prosper in the future, I will certainly not forget your kindness in selecting the burial site today."
To be honest, I didn't expect this Chief to be so greedy; his words caught me off guard. However, I also didn't anticipate that he understood some of the intricacies of feng shui. Although I had just indicated that the mountain peak ahead had excellent feng shui, I hadn't specified which point was the actual burial spot. Therefore, randomly burying someone there would be ineffective. To truly benefit from this treasure of feng shui, one must be buried at the exact auspicious point; even a slight deviation or incorrect depth would render it useless. This was also why I felt confident in stating that it was good feng shui.
Seeing that I remained silent, the Chief urged me again: "Master, can you help me? As long as you point out the spot for me, I will definitely not treat you poorly."
I smiled and glanced at his face before telling him: "Your face does not possess such great fortune or virtue to benefit from this treasure of feng shui; it's better not to think too much about it. If you do more good deeds in the future, a suitable treasure of feng shui will appear for you."
Upon hearing this, the Chief's expression turned sour as he thought I was unwilling to help him on purpose and became quite unhappy. However, since he had come here to assist us by guiding us along the way, I didn't want to upset him over such a trivial matter. So I explained: "In feng shui theory, a blessed land is meant for blessed people to inhabit. All treasures of feng shui can only be enjoyed by those with great fortune and virtue. If you lack that Fude, even if I point out the auspicious spot for you to bury your ancestors there, you won't gain that Fude; instead, it may bring harm to you."
Everyone was astonished; the Chief asked if there were such considerations in feng shui? I nodded and realized that to convince them of what I said, I had no choice but to share a story about feng shui...
