Chapter Seventy-Six: The Female Corpse Has Arrived
Seeing Master Ma enter the room, I realized that asking him anything else was pointless. Reflecting on what Master Ma had just said, I felt both shocked and saddened, along with a sense of lingering fear.
It was clear from Master Ma's tone that Liu Lao Er was formidable and harbored deep hatred and misunderstandings towards Master Ma and my grandfather. They believed that Master Ma and his group had allied with the police, feeling that their father had raised them for nothing.
Now, with Liu Lao Er reappearing and having easily killed five police officers, it indicated that he was back. Given his vengeful nature, I was certain he would seek revenge on Master Ma. As the only descendant of my grandfather, and since I was investigating him, he would undoubtedly transfer that hatred onto me.
Thinking about all this, I sighed. Perhaps it was indeed as Master Ma said: enemies are bound to cross paths; everything has its cause and effect, and some grudges must eventually be resolved—it's just a matter of time.
For me, my investigation was purely for justice. However, for Master Ma and his group, it was a reluctant choice. Perhaps to steadfastly uphold righteousness means one must face such difficult decisions? Whether it’s Master Ma or me, or anyone else, throughout life we inevitably encounter numerous choices between right and wrong. Sometimes, even when we know what is right, choosing the right path can be incredibly challenging and frustrating.

Yet we still had to choose to ignore them or even condemn them to death!
Indeed, choices in this world are rarely about right or wrong; most are made out of necessity.
Returning to the present, because Master Ma had stirred up painful memories from the past, I went back into the inner room while I took over his shop. Now that I knew about Liu Family Village's situation, after dinner that evening, I set out towards the City Bureau.

Wang Team was astonished; after all, they had been investigating this case for so long without any leads. Hearing me say that everything was clear shocked him into asking, "Really? You've clarified the situation at Liu Family Village?"
I replied, "Yes. Although Liu Family Village is haunted, there are actually people behind the scenes causing trouble."
Then I proceeded to inform Wang Team about everything regarding Liu Family Village—the reasons behind the massacre and how the five police officers were killed by Liu Lao Er—all in one go.
After hearing about the Liu Family Village, the Wang Team was left astonished, unable to close their mouths. Then, the first thing he said was, "Does that mean you are in danger now? Should I send someone to protect you 24/7?"
I smiled wryly and replied, "There is indeed danger, but there's no need for your protection. After all, our hidden enemies are from the Yin-Yang Dao, not ordinary people. So even if you send someone to protect me, it would only lead to more casualties without any chance of retaliation."
The Wang Team understood from my previous mention of Liu Lao Er's abilities that they truly had no way to deal with such an Evil Master, and thus they became troubled.
I said, "Wang Team, I suggest you stop investigating the Liu Family Village case for now. Just set it aside; the situation is already clear. Liu Lao Er is behind all this. If you continue to investigate, it will only lead to more brothers dying like those five detectives that night, without any chance to fight back."
The Wang Team appeared both angry and helpless. He said, "What should we do then? Are we just going to let such evil criminals go unpunished?"
I assured him, "Don't worry; I will deal with Liu Lao Er. Although I'm not sure if I can handle it, once I have him under control, I will definitely inform you so that he receives the legal punishment he deserves."
At this point, the Wang Team had already realized that Liu Lao Er was not someone they could handle, so he sighed and said, "Then we can only rely on you. I hope those five brothers in heaven can help us bring that villain to justice soon!"
After explaining all this, I prepared to leave the City Bureau. However, just then, a detective rushed into the Wang Team's office in a panic.

The detective seemed a bit flustered and stammered as he pointed outside and said, "It's here... it's back..."

"Yes, that's the one!" The reporting detective nodded vigorously.
I realized why this detective was so scared; this was Xiao Li, the detective who had been on watch outside the Morgue last time. He had narrowly escaped death because of that Female Corpse. Now that she had come back looking for him again, how could he not be terrified?
However, that being said, the Female Corpse clearly returned to Liu Family Village, and I even removed the Seven-Inch Soul Locking Needle from her head. How did she manage to come out again by herself? And she even came to the City Bureau?
At this moment, Xiao Li said, "The Female Corpse is now in our hall, saying she wants to file a report. Everyone knows her, and everyone has avoided her. What should we do now? She has come to our doorstep."
