Professor Fang stood outside Yan Jien's territory, observing for a long time. He saw Yan Jien walking alone into Jinyuan Mountain, and his condition seemed a bit off.
"Feeding period?" Professor Fang pondered.
As an experienced individual, he knew that if Yan Jien was not in a state of uncontrolled feeding, it would be impossible for him to defeat him. After all, he was in Perfect Form, while Yan Jien was only in Incomplete Form. He was well aware of the combat capabilities of Mutant Humans at different stages.
"Let's wait a bit," Professor Fang thought.
He had investigated Yan Jien's background and knew that Yan Jien was currently unemployed, so he could take his time. Over the past few days, he had already surveyed the boundaries of Yan Jien's territory and knew that it covered most of the Northern Industrial Zone and the area around Jubao Peak. As long as he confirmed that Yan Jien had finished his feeding period, he could deal with him without worry.
"Let's wait a bit," Professor Fang thought again.
He found a concealed spot and hid himself. Time passed quickly, and soon it was around three in the morning.
"It's about time," Professor Fang calculated the time and then stood up. "It's been almost three hours; he should have finished feeding."
Following the scent left by Yan Jien, he tracked his way to Jinyuan Mountain. At this moment, Yan Jien was dealing with a wild boar. He cleaned up the boar completely and then attempted to transform, using his claws to dig a pit to bury the remains of the boar.
"Perfect Form..."
Yan Jien looked at his transformed state with great surprise. The form he had taken after transforming was now hardly different from Perfect Form. Moreover, the enhancement of his senses exceeded his expectations.
"What a pleasant surprise," Yan Jien exclaimed excitedly.
He had evolved into the Incomplete Form for only about two months, and now he unexpectedly possessed the strength of the Perfect Form, something he had never anticipated.
"However, I lost control at home and almost hurt Dou Dou and the others..." Yan Jien was filled with worry again. He had nearly harmed Dou Dou and her friends today, which left him feeling very guilty and fearful.
"It seems I need to be more careful in the future," Yan Jien thought.
"Let's head back first."
Yan Jien glanced at the time; it was already around three-thirty in the morning, and it was time to return. He retraced his steps, moving quickly along the path.
"Hmm?"
As he passed through a patch of woods, Yan Jien scanned the virtual map with his mind and suddenly detected a familiar presence.
"Professor Fang?" Yan Jien frowned.
"What is he doing here?" Yan Jien wondered.
"Could it be for bread and milk tea?" Yan Jien thought suddenly.
He stopped in his tracks, watching ahead warily.
"Rustle, rustle..."
Ahead, the bushes shook, and a figure emerged. It was a middle-aged man dressed in casual attire—Professor Fang.
"Long time no see," Professor Fang said with a faint smile as he looked at Yan Jien.
"What do you want?" Yan Jien replied coldly.
"Don't be nervous; I just wanted to talk to you," Professor Fang said with a smile.
"We have nothing to talk about," Yan Jien snorted coldly and turned to leave.
"Wait a moment," Professor Fang called out.
"What else do you want?" Yan Jien turned back, looking coldly at Professor Fang.
"Well, I would like to invite you to join our company," Professor Fang said.
"Company?" Yan Jien frowned.
"Qiyuan Biotechnology, I'm an employee of the company," Professor Fang said.
"Not interested," Yan Jien snorted coldly and turned to leave.
"Wait a minute," Professor Fang called out again.
"What do you want now?" Yan Jien replied impatiently.
"Since you don't want to join our company, could you return my dogs to me?" Professor Fang asked.
"Your dogs?" Yan Jien frowned.
"Yes, Bread and Milk Tea," Professor Fang said.
"They're your dogs?" Yan Jien was surprised.
"Yes," Professor Fang nodded.
"How can I believe they are your dogs?" Yan Jien frowned again.
"I know they are the ones you took from Tongshuyuan Reservoir," Professor Fang said.
"You were following me?" Yan Jien said coldly.
"I told you, I just wanted to invite you to join our company," Professor Fang replied.
"What if I refuse?" Yan Jien said coldly.
"Then you'd better return Bread and Milk Tea to me," Professor Fang said.
"Are you threatening me?" Yan Jien narrowed his eyes.
"If that's how you understand it, then so be it," Professor Fang smiled faintly.
