"Quickly change your clothes," he said.
"Okay," I nodded.
So, I changed into a new outfit and went out with him.
We drove to the Civil Affairs Bureau.
There were already many people there; we waited in line for a long time until it was finally our turn.
We walked into a room that had a bed, a table, and a chair.
We sat down on the chair.
A staff member came in, holding two pieces of paper, and handed them to us.
I took the paper and looked at it.
It was a marriage application form.
We filled out the form and then handed it to the staff member.
The staff member asked us to sit there and wait for a moment.
Chen Wu sat calmly beside me, showing no signs of nervousness.
"Aren't you nervous?" I asked.
"Nervous about what?" he replied.
"We're about to get our certificate," I said.
"It's just filling out a form, like going to school," he laughed.
"Huh?" I looked at him, puzzled.
"Alright, don't be nervous," he smiled, "just think of it as filling out a school form."
"Oh," I nodded.
We waited for about twenty minutes, and finally, it was our turn.
We walked to the photo area where the photographer asked us to sit down and then took our picture.
Holding the marriage certificate, we walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau.
I took out the marriage certificate and looked at the embossed seal, feeling a surge of emotions inside me.
This is my second time here. The first time I came was during the summer after my college entrance examination, when I came with my parents to collect our household registration book. At that time, I never imagined that one day I would come here with a complete stranger to obtain a marriage certificate. Fate is truly amazing.
"What are you thinking about?" Chen Wu asked.
"Nothing," I smiled. "I just feel like time flies."
"Yeah," he nodded. "Back then, we had just met, and in the blink of an eye, we're getting married."
"Mm," I nodded.
"Alright, stop thinking about it," he said with a smile. "Let's celebrate today."
"Mm," I nodded.
We got into the car and left the civil affairs bureau. We first went to a Western restaurant for lunch. After lunch, we went to the flower market, where I bought a few pots of flowers to place in the living room and add some vitality. After buying the flowers, we went to the supermarket to buy some daily necessities.
In the supermarket, I pushed the cart while browsing with Chen Wu.
"What do you like to eat?" I asked.
"Anything," he smiled.
"How can it be anything?" I frowned. "You need to eat more nutritious food; you can't always rely on takeout."
"Okay," he nodded.
So, I bought a lot of green and healthy vegetables and placed them in the cart. I also bought some meat, planning to make minced eggplant for dinner. We then wandered through the snack section and bought a lot of snacks.
After thinking carefully, I divided the snacks into three portions.
"What is this?" Chen Wu asked curiously.
"This portion is for Aunt, this portion is your green healthy vegetables, and this portion is my indulgent package," I explained.
"You are so good to me," he smiled.
"That's necessary," I said proudly.
After we finished shopping, we returned home.
I placed the flowers on the coffee table, then took out a vase and arranged a few Double Petal Balsams and some red roses, setting them on the living room coffee table.
This instantly added a touch of warmth and romance to the house.
"Do they look good?" I asked.
"They look good," he nodded.
"I'm going to tidy up," I smiled.
"Okay," he nodded again.
I took my things and walked into the kitchen.
"Don't smoke today," I said.
"I quit a long time ago," he replied.
"Really?" I was a bit surprised.
"I've been off it for four days," he said.
"Really?" I was somewhat skeptical.
"Of course," he nodded.
"Why did you suddenly quit?" I asked curiously.
"Because..." he suddenly leaned closer to me and whispered in my ear, "I don't want my baby to inhale secondhand smoke."
"You..." I felt my face flush immediately.
"Tell me, where do you think the baby will be?" he said with a mischievous smile.
"Stop joking around..." I said, blushing.
"I'm not joking," he laughed, "I'm being serious."
"You... you're shameless..." I said, still red-faced.
"I'm just speaking the truth," he chuckled.
"I'm not talking to you anymore..." I turned and fled from the kitchen.
