Every day, I am taken by the medical staff to different rooms for various so-called "treatments." They give me medication, make me take psychological tests, and sometimes even use electric shocks. Each time, I feel my soul being pulled away little by little. 0

"Are you okay?" Aunt Li looks at me, her eyes filled with sympathy. I shake my head, overwhelmed by a sense of helplessness. "I don't know how much longer I can hold on." 0

"Do you know? My husband sent me here just because I discovered his affair." My voice trembles slightly. Aunt Li sighs, "This world is really unfair sometimes." 0

"Yeah," I close my eyes, feeling the dizziness brought on by the medication. "I just want to get my life back, to regain my freedom." 0

Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night to hear other patients crying and moaning. There is no comfort here, no sympathy, only endless darkness and loneliness. 0

"Do you believe it? I once had a happy family," I say to Aunt Li, my voice tinged with nostalgia. 0

"I believe it," she gently strokes my hand. "Everyone has a past, but what matters is that we cannot give up hope." 0

Aunt Li comforts me, "You just need time, you need a chance to prove yourself." I give a bitter smile. 0

"Prove myself? Here, I can't even find myself." Hope? Here, hope seems like a luxury. 0

"Don't give up," Aunt Li holds my hand tightly. "One day, you will regain your freedom." 0

"Are you really going to just give up like this?" Her voice sounds particularly clear in the silent ward. 0

I shake my head; although my body is restrained, my will grows stronger. "No, I will not give up." 0

Aunt Li sighed, "I know you won't. I've thought it through; I want to help you leave here." 0
I looked at her in surprise, "Leave? How is that possible?" 0
She leaned closer, her voice lowered, "I've bribed a nurse who will help you during the next shift change." 0
A glimmer of hope surged within me, but it was quickly replaced by fear. 0
"But what if we get caught?" 0
"We have to take this risk," Aunt Li's gaze was firm. "You can't waste your life here." 0
A few nights later, when the other patients were deep in their dreams, Aunt Li quietly came to my bedside. 0
"It's time," she whispered, "the nurse is ready." 0
I nervously sat up in bed, my heart pounding like a drum. 0
Aunt Li helped me change into a regular outfit, and then we quietly made our way to the nurse's station. 0
"Are you sure?" I asked in a low voice. 0
Aunt Li nodded, "I've arranged everything. As long as we are careful, we won't be discovered." 0
We cautiously made our way down the corridor to the back door. 0
A nurse stood there; she glanced at us and then opened the door. 0
"Hurry," she whispered, "don't look back." 0
I tightly grasped Aunt Li's hand as we hurried out of the psychiatric hospital. 0
The air outside was so fresh, and the moonlight bathed us in its glow; I felt a long-lost sense of freedom. 0
We jogged until we reached a secluded alley. 0
Aunt Li took some money from her pocket and handed it to the nurse. 0

"Thank you," Aunt Li said, "you've helped us a great deal." The nurse nodded and then hurried away. 0
